The lady who owns this place (Marty) is absolutely terrible. She is the perfect example of a modern day Karen. I rented an excavator from them and when I brought it to my job site, it was broken. I called the lady and she said it "wasn't her problem". I was dumbfounded by the lack of customer appreciation. I told her that this was not fair and she said "don't come back then". I cannot believe Marty even owns a business. How inappropriate. If you're looking for inoperable equipment and a Nazi-like owner, this is your place to go! The rest of the workers are relatively nice. I had several questions I wanted to ask the owner and she told me she can't help me. The place is in a horrible location. You cant even get there when you search on google maps because the section of Bethlehem Pike is a one-way street. read more

Went to the Hatfield location to rent a drywall lift. Upon signing the agreement the rep at the desk quickly told me I need your signature at the bottom and your initials for the insurance protection. I was in a hurry and didn't question the charges. I go to the loading area and was handed two of the three pieces which I placed in my SUV. I walked around to the side door to move a piece and when I come around a rep was placing the final largest piece into my SUV which he dropped and put a yellow paint mark on my matching painted bumper of my relatively new vehicle. Again I was in a hurry and brushed off as I'll attempt to buff it out. Now for the suspect business practices- fair warning to do business elsewhere as it's clear this is how GTR "takes care" of it's customers. When I looked at the bill there was a $5.18 charge per day for equipment insurance. The issue is HOW this was added: no explanation, no option. I believe that's called slamming a customer. When I looked at the back of the service invoice GTR claims "no responsibility" for damage to your vehicle. That's right, even if it is their fault (which it states). Unsure if this holds in court but again shows the amount of care GTR has for you. The irony of slamming a customer to take 100% profit margin item like tool insurance yet not accepting liability for damage to your vehicle-even if it is THEIR FAULT!! When I politely asked what the charge was when returning the lift, the rep became VERY defensive and replied "it's insurance". I asked politely why it's not an option. His reply quote more annoyed "it gets added automatically". My reply politely was asking what that exactly means? He restates louder "it gets added automatically, unless you can prove insurance" What a joke, never a dime more from me and hopefully as you read this you'll understand their philosophy about you as a customer and you'll not spend one dime their either. read more

(See Yelp 1-star review of Horsham location not as bad as, but with one similar issue to, the terrible "202 Rent-All" in Blue Bell.) This HATFIELD location of George's Rental that I'm Yelping is recommended by Angie's List consumer reviews, and by my local oil service company Walton's I asked who is a helpful equipment & tool renter in my area. So I'll call again in the future on this HATFIELD location of George's Tool and equipment Rental since the man on the HATFIELD location phone was patient, informative, nice, and helpful quoting me sizes and rates I didn't end up renting since understandably no longer stock an item that did not move well though they offer commercial larger-size versions of the residential smaller-size dehumidifier I inquired to rent for a month or two (that I'll likely end up buying a great Sears deal I found online if I can't find an inexpensive rental). And thanks to reviewers I've now learned to make sure before leaving a rental facility to have inquired about availability of backup equipment in case of failure, and to get in writing their make-good terms for when rentals fail or are discovered unsatisfactory in other ways like I read by other reviewers, who should have made use of their credit card companies' quick & EZ dispute resolution service backed by free legal departments like I've been helped numerous times, in a wide variety of situations. read more

This review is for the hatfield location I am a contractor who has rented a lot from many different company's but Georges is the only one I have had bad experiences with (I guess they are used to ripping off homeowners) I was rented a 6" chipper that wasn't serviced (blades were shot) after running it for a few minutes something was obviously wrong so I called the store where I was put on the phone with the mechanic (I guess that's what he was) who had nothing to offer in the way of help other then telling me it worked fine and that he just ran a bunch of big branches through it (maybe that's why the blades were shot) now this is where the bad review comes in our solution to this issue could only go a few ways 1. Come back and swap it with a larger 9"machine which I would be upcharged the difference for 2. They will deliver me the other one which I will be charged a "service call" fee for 3. Take it off the truck and not use it (I was an hour away with 3 guys on the ground so it would cost me more to leave my job and drop it off in the middle of the day) but I'll still be charged the daily rate plus blade sharpening. ANY OTHER rental company would have come to my site with a new chipper and swapped it out or if they didn't have another to offer they would have sent someone to repair it. Upon drop off I was spoken to like I was trash and in then end I was charged for blade sharpening and they charged me for the 9" chipper even tho I never swapped out with the 9". Do yourself a favor rent from ANY other company (bestline, rental world, sunbelt, caterpillar, Eagle power, even Home Depot) not only are the rates cheaper, you get a great experience!
