I recently booked a birthday party for 16 children on a Saturday. The day before I was called and…read morewas informed that they had overbooked and there would be 11 other parties. I was also informed since I had paid for outside cake I would be able to bring in my own food so they removed the pizzas and told me to bring my own to save money. Half an hour before my party on Sunday Brian calls to ask me if I had paid for outside food and cake I said yes and informed him Adrianna had booked my party and even took off the pizzas I had originally ordered and was told to ask for her if there were any issues, he said ok and hung up. When I got there at 1 to check in for my party the manager Sky tells me I had not paid for outisde food or cake. I informed him I had and the issue I experienced about booking my party and how they moved it. He went on to say with a snarky attitude and I quote "Well Im the manager not adrianna, she is just an assistant I have the final say so you have to pay" I then asked why did they wait till the day of and time of the party to inform me I still had a balance. Sky told me Brian had called me to mention they would be charging me another 88, Brian was standing at the next register, so I asked him why did you not inform me when you called? He plainly lied to my face and said I did ( i really hope they record phone calls) I had nothing else to say to him so I turned to Sky and said "Your employee is blantly lying to me in my face" Im almost a 40 year old woman i had no need to lie. Sky went on to say that it was my fault because I didnt wait for a phone call to go over my party details. I informed him I had gone over with adrianna, I also took care of my balance with him directly saturday ( which he made no mention of) and they still didnt inform me when they called me 30 mins before. My party guests began to arrive and line up behind us, I was highly embarrassed by Sky's rudeness to me and more to my husband. I informed him that I would pay whatever extra charge so he could let us in. As he took my payment he continued to make side remarks one of which being "Adrianna will be here at 3 so if you have any problems you can take it up with her." I felt as if he made the remake to try and intimidate me or scare me not sure to which I responded perfect thank you for that information. ( Tip:As a manager you don't disclose employee start times for safety precautions especially to an upset customer). I paid the balance and was let in. As mentioned some of my guests were waiting there is a birthday express lane for birthday parties and a line for paying customers. Sky stepped aside and was texting on his phone (from 1:18 to about 1:40) while Brian attented to the long line of paying customers and birthday guests. My guests waited over 15 mins to check in. I personally had filled out a waiver for my senior father the day before, they claimed they didnt have one on file (even tho I had proof.of email) honestly it felt that sky and Brian were looking for anything to ruin the rest of the party and they would have succeeded had it not been for Adrianna, sarah and Schovon. Adrianna immediately came over when she started and profusely apologized and she also seemed genuinely confused as to why I was charged again. ( She may be the assistant but she had more professionalism, understanding and exceptional customer service skills than Sky did, he could learn from her instead of all the arrogance he carries) Schovvon and Sarah were very tentative to my party and guests making sure everything went smoothly. Honestly I would have gave 5 stars but the "manager's" arrogance and rudeness played a major role in my review. I would hate for our community to lose such a great place due to a manager's customer service like the other place across the way. There was a popcorn station, a smores station, a kid-friendly corn maze (that we didn't get to check out) and even a bunch of vendors right by the entrance selling fresh lemonade, crochet/knit stuffies, 3D printed toys, etc. If you purchase a heavy pumpkin or mums, there is a courtesy golf cart to shuttle your goods back to the car. There was plenty of parking on the gravel lot by the entrance and they opened at 10am on the Saturday we went. It's nice that this farm has bathrooms and overall it felt very accommodating and accessible for little kids, even the little littles. There were lots of spaces for stroller parking and tons of families. This farm was a great place for my toddler to pet some animals. She was a little shy and scared to brush the goats or approach the piglets, but if you kiddo loves animals, they will have a blast. The volunteers are helpful and protect the animals too, keeping a watchful eye and managing the passing off of bunnies, for example, to people's laps, or ensuring the goat and sheep pens are not too crowded. Their concessions menu had hot dogs, hamburgers or cheeseburgers, chips, cans of pop, nachos, apple cider, and Rice Krispies. We brought some food and snacks with us as well, and their covered picnic area was perfect for rest and refuel. There was even a private party at one end of the shaded picnic area, how fun to have a birthday party at the farm. It was a gorgeous fall day to be outside and the staff were so friendly; it was very organized and well maintained, even with the throngs of families that kept arriving throughout the day. These weren't add-ons--they were central to the event's design, marketing, and execution. The maze alone involved live actors, scripted tour guides, coordinated timing, and trained volunteers. It was a significant production. Per their process, we expected confirmation communication ahead of the event and a check-in call within 24 hours prior. While I did receive an initial confirmation email, I never received the day-before call. Given my past positive experiences, I didn't think much of it. The morning of the event told a different story. By 7:00 AM (two hours before doors), I had received no communication. I began reaching out--calls, voicemail, text, and email--without any response. At 8:45 AM, just 15 minutes before doors opened, I finally received a call informing me that their truck wouldn't start and they would not be coming. There was no proactive outreach, no contingency plan, and no apology. We had no choice but to pivot in real time and rework the event experience on the fly. While the event still moved forward, it created unnecessary stress, confusion, and reputational risk for our organization. When you're running a paid, large-scale event with hundreds of attendees, reliability isn't optional--it's foundational. I followed up the next day through their feedback system. I was told someone would be in touch. That follow-up never came--no apology, no acknowledgment, no attempt to make the situation right. This wasn't just a logistical miss--it was a breakdown in communication, professionalism, and accountability at every level that mattered.
