Purim, which draws over 600 attendees and charges admission, we booked two major attractions: a mechanical inflatable and their massive funhouse maze. These weren't add-ons--they were central to the event's design, marketing, and execution. The maze alone involved live actors, scripted tour guides, coordinated timing, and trained volunteers. It was a significant production. Per their process, we expected confirmation communication ahead of the event and a check-in call within 24 hours prior. While I did receive an initial confirmation email, I never received the day-before call. Given my past positive experiences, I didn't think much of it. The morning of the event told a different story. By 7:00 AM (two hours before doors), I had received no communication. I began reaching out--calls, voicemail, text, and email--without any response. At 8:45 AM, just 15 minutes before doors opened, I finally received a call informing me that their truck wouldn't start and they would not be coming. There was no proactive outreach, no contingency plan, and no apology. We had no choice but to pivot in real time and rework the event experience on the fly. While the event still moved forward, it created unnecessary stress, confusion, and reputational risk for our organization. When you're running a paid, large-scale event with hundreds of attendees, reliability isn't optional--it's foundational. I followed up the next day through their feedback system. I was told someone would be in touch. That follow-up never came--no apology, no acknowledgment, no attempt to make the situation right. This wasn't just a logistical miss--it was a breakdown in communication, professionalism, and accountability at every level that mattered. I rented the hot dog steamer for my son's first birthday. The theme was baseball/ our rookie of the year so it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it! It was super easy to use and kept the hot dogs & buns nice and warm. Pick up & drop off at the wearhouse was also very easy! Cancelled my order because they allowed me to reserve on Sunday even though they aren't opened. They called me to change it to Saturday pick up and I said no problem. Then they say only the person on the reservation can pick up and I said I wont able to but my husband can. My husbands card was used but it's the reservation in my name. I had to accommodate my schedule to move to pick up Sunday but they can't accommodate to allow someone else to pick up? They tried to state rules and policy that's not on the website when reserving or in the follow up email that was sent. I have rented from this place before where my husband picked up and not me now it's a problem. They cancelled my reservation even when I asked not to because they got caught up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVEN IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am utterly dumbfounded with how this company runs their business. My colleague and I have had been working with them for weeks in order to plan our first company picnic. We went back and forth and created an amazing plan for items to be at our event, including multiple blow up attractions for adults and kids, a photo booth, large connect four, amongst others. We were so stoked about everything! After chatting with our venue and our team we decided to remove 3 (out of 16 total) items simply due to the space we had at our venue, we immediately let Chicago Moonwalks know and continued with our planning. We spoke with Olga who said she just needed to know if we would need generators for our event and she would return with the updated quote shortly. She then proceeded to ask a few more questions which was totally normal to us and we accommodated with any and all answers! From August 4th until today, August 11th, we had RADIO silence from them as we followed up each day to get a final quote so we could send our deposit and firm up our plans. TODAY, after my colleague contacted the company three separate times before getting any type of real answer other than "Oh my manager needs to do this" "My manager needs confirm that" by someone who would not tell us their name NOR would they tell us who the manager was they were speaking of, only say they would call us later today. Spoiler alert, they never called us. FINALLY at 3pm on August 11th, my colleague ONCE AGIAN reached out and was able to speak to whomever this "manager" was where she proceeded to tell us that they would NO LONGER work with us because we had removed three items from our original quote. Mind you, we were still planning on spending quite a bit of money and money was never even an issue to begin with!! It was purely because our venue of choice did not have enough space!!! As I mentioned in the beginning of this, we were so excited to have found this company and all of the amazing rentals they had listed. We are beyond disappointed in how this company acted, runs their business and we will actively let anyone know they SHOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING. Selection here is great but the customer service is quite poor. I have used just about every inflatable company in the area over the years and my experience with Chicago moonwalks was surprisingly bad. The team setting up the inflatable was not able to lead the set up, resulting in a bad set up that repeatedly blew fuses and took down the inflatable during our party. Set up was long and frustrating on top of it. I couldn't get ahold of anyone to walk me through resolution during the party either despite being told service was always available. The inflatable was "up" for less than half of our party. I attempted to discuss this with management the following day and I was given countless defenses and no accountability for their mistakes. I was accused of having buyers remorse and trying to "get money". Subpar service happens at times for lots of reasons and I was willing to put it behind me but it was their response to the situation that was unfortunate. I was treated like I was in the wrong for expecting trained staff at set up and responsiveness when issues arise. read more

I literally just got off the phone with the owner of this company after I hung up on her because of how rude she was. I've ordered moon walks from them before and was happy with them so I decided to go back to concession stands for a carnival theme party I am throwing. I had hoped to order a popcorn machine, hot dog stand and cotton candy machine for a total of $205+tax. Not cheap! When I asked to reserve them for July the first thing she mentioned is that they do not deliver these concession stands. I asked why, since they are big items and would not fit in my car. She mentioned that their specialty is moonwalks and not concession stands. I asked why they were renting them on their website then. She said that they get a ton of requests for them but that is not their specialty so they don't deliver them and it's listed on their website (the total opposite is listed on their website). She also mentioned, not sure why, that she does not like when they show up with clean concession stands and then they see that the customer has ordered a dirty moon walk from another place (so do they deliver them or not?). At this point I was pretty annoyed by her reasoning and I mentioned that I had hoped that she wasn't the owner because her reasoning was pretty lame and that I've ordered them them before so this was all a surprise to me. She said she was indeed the owner and that there are other websites I could order from if i didn't like her reasoning. Does she not know that there are people trying to throw parties that don't have big cars?? Long story short, the fact the she does not appreciate ALL business thrown her way makes me question if she was in fact the owner. I can't speak highly enough of my experience using Chicago Moonwalks for my son's birthday party recently. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very friendly, knowledgable about all their products and their availability, and explained the terms of the rental agreement clearly and concisely. They called me the day before the party to confirm we were still on and reiterated the drop off and pick up times. The bouncy house arrived EXACTLY on time, took about 10 minutes to set up & my son & his friends spent about 9 hours bouncing to their heart's content! The team arrived EXACTLY on time to pick the bouncy house up & were gone again 10 minutes later. Perfect! I was a little worried about some of the negative reviews but they were absolutely perfect! You can book online easily but I called to confirm everything and they were very friendly and helpful on the phone. We got an indoor bounce house for my son's birthday and a big inflatable basketball game. They called the day before to confirm that they would be there between 12:30-1:30 to set up for the 2:00 party and they were literally there at 12:30 on the dot. I rented a concession package - cotton candy cart, popcorn cart, and hotdog cart - along with some tables for my daughter's carnival theme birthday party. It was a great deal except they don't deliver orders with concessions only, but for an extra charge they will. I didn't see the cost of the delivery on the website. I found out after calling to confirm my order, because when I was checking out online, it took me to a page that had no confirmation of my order. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very pleasant and helpful. In the end, I paid the extra charge for delivery, because I had no means of getting it to the venue. It was worth it. The kids and adults loved the cotton candy! The machines were clean and the delivery guys were great. They asked where I wanted the machines set up and they showed me how to use them. I called to cancel a month and a half before event and can not recoup any of the deposit that was put down because it not a rain cancellation. The customer service at this place is horrible. Ask for Vanessa. She'll keep repeating herself over and over without considering the customer's concerns. And if you expect this company to return your call or respond to an email, don't hold your breathe. How they are in business, I'll never know. If rain is expected anywhere in the Chicago area, they will tell you it's 100% chance of rain and thunderstorms and cancel. No rain expected during the hours we are renting. Do not book this vendor. We had an event in a public park for which we had a permit until 4:30pm. They were supposed to pick up the equipment between 4 and 4:30pm. At 4:30pm, I call the company to let them know we cannot stay out here and they told us we would be liable for anything that happens to the equipment if we leave. 30min later, we are still waiting for them to pick up the equipment and there is no apology or offer of a discount, just someone with a bad attitude who says we will be liable if anything happens to the equipment. This was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had with a vendor. In fact, I never write reviews, but feel I need to warn others about this company. The delivery drivers were over an hour late and very unprofessional. They called and said they were close, I told them I would run out, but would be there in 5 minutes, but instructed them on the individual already at the venue that could assist them. An HOUR later, the drivers call again, demanding to know where I was. I had been at the venue for 55 minutes at this point, and asked them where they were. They were at the wrong location, and when I asked for them to provide me the intersecting streets of where they were, so I could assist in directing them, they hung up on me. Immediately after that, a female from the Chicago Moonwalk office called, yelling at me and saying her drivers had been waiting for over an hour and I was rude to the drivers. I once again explained I was at the venue, the drivers were lost and would not tell me where they were. 15 minutes later, the drivers finally arrived. When they get there, they refused to charge the card on file. Rather, they took my credit card, and insisted on calling, from their personal cell phone, to relay the credit card numbers to someone on the other line. I explained why I was uncomfortable with this process and preferred to call Chicago Moonwalks directly and provide the credit card number myself. I then called Chicago Moonwalks and was yelled at, again, by the same female who I had spoken to earlier. She repeatedly interrupted me and would not allow me to pay the remainder of my invoice. The entire time this was going on, I kept on repeating my daughter's party was already starting and all I wanted to do was pay so the bounce house could be inflated. Finally, I was able to get one of the drivers to stand next to me and use my phone to provide the credit card information. This was an absolutely horrible experience. Called about a week in advance for my son's party and was able to get a bouncer with no problem. Person over the phone was very knowledgable and nice. Set up time was exactly as they told me and the two gentlemen were very fast and efficient. Bouncer was wonderful, clean and in great shape. I had a 13X13 in a 18X18 space and this was just perfect. At one point there were about 10 kids in it at once (ages of 2-12) and it was just the right size. Pick up was just as quick and efficient as set up. I highly recommend them. read more

Wonderful customer service, from reserving the equipment to returning it after our event. Friendly and professional office staff explained how all the machines worked when we picked them up and even helped to load them in our truck (they were all very light and easy to maneuver, and I'm 7 months pregnant). We rented a hotdog and bun steamer, popcorn machine and son-cone machine. They were all pretty easy to use, although the sno-cone machine gave us a bit of trouble in the beginning but it was mostly user error (our ice was melting faster than we could shave it, thus jamming the machine). Once we figured that out, things went smoothly. Everything was a huge hit at our party and could not have asked for a better experience. I also thought their prices were very fair ($75 for each machine we rented for a 24-hour period). We will absolutely use them again for all of our party rental needs. read more

I would just like to say, that when I was called prior to my event the times confirmed for drop off was between 11-11:30 which was perfect because my daughters party started at 12. We'll my bouncy house wasn't dropped off until almost 1pm. I had to call in to get the first eta at 11:58 and the person I spoke with said 5-10minutes out, and then I had to call again at 12:25 and again the person I spoke to said 5-10minutes. I am so upset with the customer service. I've order from moonwalks 3 years now and I've never had such terrible service. I should have gotten a call stating the driver was going to late. And to top it off a whole hour and a half (almost 2 hours) LATE!! I should have cancelled it. Not to mention the pick up time was confirmed at 8:30-9:00pm which was the time the party was ending so again it was perfect timing. After the driver didn't show we cut the power and let the thing deflate. 9:46 the driver calls me to turn the power back on. I told them they could wait because I was putting my daughter to sleep. The ending up leaving at 10:18. I don't think I'll be spending my $ here anymore. read more

I ordered a bouncy house, cotton candy machine, tables, chairs, snow cone machine, I spent well over 400 dollars. It rained the entire duration of the bouncy house. Once the bouncy house was up it started to rain. I called Chicago moon walks to let them know, I didn't get any answers. I called the guy who delivered. I left multiple voice mails because the rain had gotten so bad. The kids weren't able to even step foot into the bouncy house. Needless to say, regardless of the policy this should haven been a time to curve the policy. I should've been accommodated due to the circumstances at hand that neither party had control of. I didn't not want a refund. I just wanted SOME type of accommodation, But I wasn't. I was told that I should've called, in which I did. had a bad feeling when i reserved as the person was very rude on the phone. I went ahead because the water slide was the one my daughter wanted. Delivery guys were very nice. They were early which helped me. But when i was filling up the pool at the bottom of the slide, i noticed water leaking. I looked in the pool and could see the slit. The party was from 12-7. I was filling this up before the kids got out of school at around 1115am. I immediately called to alert them to the small leak. I wasn't upset. More like an FYI but was hoping they would have a patch solution or something. She told me that the water slides drip or have spilling. I explained no, that noone was there yet and the grass was getting very wet because this was a hole in the pool at the bottom. She asked me to send pictures. So i did. Then they didnt call back. nothing. I called again to ask if they got the pictures. She said they did and that she had called the drivers and they said it wasn't there when they dropped it off. She insinuated that it was damage caused by the party. I said, not that was not correct. the kids were not even out of school yet. The only person near it was me, and all i did was put the hose in to fill up the pool. It was definitely there. I paid ALOT for this slide and it shoudln't have a hole in it. SHe offered nothing. She said they could come pick it up now and she would refund my money. that was her only solution. I had 30 little kids coming to my daughters bday party on the last day of school. She didnt offer to give us another one. nothing at all. She was totally rude and had no concern for the children and the party. I don't know how she stays in business. There are many other places to get these. I do this party every year for the past 4 years. I will not use them again. No, their rentals are not the cheapest out there, but for our fourth year running, we have gotten our money worth. Every rental we have gotten has been clean and in excellent shape (can not say the same about others we have tried in the past). The staff that sets-up and picks up the equipment were very friendly and have always been on time. The staff working in the office taking reservations, calling you with reminders, and going over the details were very professional. At no point did I feel like I has hit with any hidden fees as they were very upfront with costs once they were provided the details of the rental. I can not recommend them enough! read more

We ordered a mechanical shark from them and from the minute I made the phone call to the time that the shark arrived to the time they took it down was the smoothest transaction I have ever had. The gal on the phone was pleasant and the two gentlemen who set it up and worked it at the party were all awesome! Everyone had a blast and it was definitely the highlight of the party. I reserved a moon walk for my daughters second birthday online.. The one advertised on their website was a pink, blue and purple castle house plain with no characters which is exactly what I wanted. When they showed up they set up the same colored castle but with Disney princesses which was not my theme. The lady I spoke with who claimed to be the manager was very rude and unwilling to work with me on this.. I told them to take it away.. I was very upset this was false advertising on their website & very rude employees. They are over priced and I would not recommend them to anyone!
