A very nice farmer's market, Sundays only. It's well worth a visit if getting to Queens Park…read morestations isn't too much of a hike. There were at least 40 vendors including: - 3 or 4 booths selling cheeses - 4 or so purveyors of meats - 2 or 3 seafood sellers - many selling veggies, cakes, pastries, ciders, eggs and other raw materials. And if you just want to show up and eat, there were 5-6 vendors selling sausage rolls, burgers, chicken, pulled pork/beef sandwiches, plus French stews. While there are much bigger/well known weekend markets in London, I think this is the best example of a local one that is mostly focused on farmers, fisherman, bakers and butchers - but that also has a lot of stalls where you can eat something really nice. Nobody is selling overpriced jars of stuff or catering to massive crowds. This is a market where you can discuss how the cheese is made with the person who made it.

Ah farmers markets. I used to live right next to one and it was just so nice to have fresh fruit…read moreand veggies and pre-made goodies and flowers and meat and seafood and pastries and bread and ice cream and coffee right on your doorstep. This one was just as good. I think california has different regulations or something because there were lots more meat and seafood stalls. There were at least two or three duplicates of each type of stall. I suggest doing a once around to compare prices and see what's all there that day. So excited to come back and figure out what to make that evening for Sunday roast with my market finds!

I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for exclusive quality and lovely service…read more Smoked salmon is the best I ever had in my life! Shortly after moving to St John's Wood, i decided to take a jog through Regents Park. I past this…read morefishmonger on my way home one day and poked my head in for a quick look. Immediately upon seeing me, a man held a five inch long slice of beautiful smoked salmon, and offered me a sample. I accepted it... It was good. It was damn good. It was, hands down, the finest smoked salmon that i've ever had in my life. I will be using Brown's smoked salmon as the basis for every piece of smoked salmon that i ever have for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, i don't go on jogs with money in my pockets. I ran home, and tried to forget about the salmon but thought i'd mention the fishmonger to my flatmate, who is something of a cook himself. We both paused while talking about it and just by the look on his face, i could tell that he was thinking about what i was thinking. He had been given a taste of the salmon a few weeks prior. I jokingly called it "the chronic of salmon", though he upped the ante by calling it "the crack of salmon". We were both hooked. I took a shower and tried to dress myself as someone else; i didn't want the people working here to know that i was coming back to the market twice in one day. Fortunately, they didn't recognize me. I left the market as a better man. One with salmon. We put it into our eggs. we put it on toasted bagels with cream cheese lemon juice and capers. we put it onto slices of baguette with creme fraiche... we put it on everything we could... I've been back for the salmon several times. Occasionally buying it instead of the fish i actually came there for. The rest of the fish here is fine.
