I've been going to Johnathan for over 3 years now, and I honestly wouldn't trust anyone else with my haircut. He's always consistent, professional, and pays attention to every detail. He takes his time and makes sure everything comes out clean and exactly how I want it. Beyond being a great barber, Johnathan creates a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere every time I come in. Booking is easy, he's reliable, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his clients. If you're looking for a stylist who's skilled, dependable, and gives quality cuts every time, I highly recommend Johnathan. Definitely one of the best around. read more

I asked for a completely different haircut. His employee turned me around from the mirror so I could not see it and it came out the complete opposite of what I wanted. Only spent about 10 minutes on me. Just had to go somewhere else to get it all fixed. read more

I have passed by this barber shop a hundred times and finally decided to try it the other day. I was pleaZantly surprised by hard working Jorge the owner/barber. He did an excellent job, and became friends. Now he's my go to barber I will continue to patroniZe! I love the old school feel of the shop itself. I got to my appointment early and sat on porch. For those of you that know that three is my 'lucky number', it was no real surprise when I looked across the street and noticed the address for the Porterhouse restaurant. Guess I'll have to check out that restaurant too. After posting, I see I am the 63rd review! read more

Inexpensive yet high-quality haircuts/styles from a super friendly staff. The place has a very classic small beach town vibe to it that is very inviting and relaxing. read more

My guy George gives the finest cut around, I've had a lot of bad cuts or even some that I need a week to grow until it looks good, but I'm shocked when I leave George's with a cut that's ready to go right away. I feel like some barbers sort of miss what a persons vibe or style is and just do what is on paper but I feel like George listens and understands what a good cut on someone looks like and has the vision. I'll personally not go anywhere else. Also the shop is just really awesome vibes, music and good chats as well! read more

Was a walk in today and Ryan was available and he sat me right down asked what I was looking for and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Great barbershop, awesome people, and definitely will be coming back. read more

From the moment I walked in (without an appointment, no less), I felt a down-home, unpretentious beachy vibe. Reggae was cranked up and the ocean breeze was flowing through the top of the open Dutch door. My son (who turned 13 the day before) desperately needed a haircut and I was a bit nervous at first to bring him to an unfamiliar barber shop, where they may have just busted out the clippers and shorn the kid. Not only did George fit us in, he did a masterful, legit haircut in 15-20 minutes. My newly-teenaged son stood up & was actually Fighting a smile! He could not Help smiling because his hair looked exactly how he wanted it to--not too short, and no longer too long. Businesses should be Easy to do business with. With George's Barber Shop, everything about it was easy: parking, being able to walk in, price was right, the beach cottage vibe was relaxed. I can't imagine taking my son anywhere else. For real. And he even got to pick a lollipop afterward. Still my little boy for a few more years! :-) read more

George's Barber Shop - Epic haircut in progress - Barbers Near Me - El Segundo, California

Great local barber shop. Very happy with my cut. Comfortable atmosphere. Friendly service.

Nice people, small business, good haircuts. Friendly and fast. Has a nice homey, surf vibe. Not for the salon minded.

Little gem at the El Segundo Area. Solid haircut styling performance with no rush. Friendly staff and reasonable price. Will recommend and come back again. read more

Took my son here for the first time today for his very first hair cut at 4 years old. We were very disappointed as I showed 2 reference photos to the guy and he acted confident as he could do it. He immediately cut too much off the front (top) and left my son's hair looking completely botched. I requested someone else to fix it. George attempted to fix it, He made it some what decent but still looked botched and incomplete after leaving. I was in tears so distraught over what a horrible experience we had we were still made to pay $26 for the kids hair cut. overall I was hurt by the lack of empathy and how they ruined my babies first hair cut. completely dissatisfied. We have family photos tomorrow and now scrambling on how I can fix his hair and it's extremely stressful. The lack of empathy for their mistakes in their work was shocking. Over all I'm so sad to say, I don't recommend this place. read more

I've been getting great hair cuts by George for about five years now. Like any high-quality service, product or experience, it's all about consistency. The super-clean shop has a cool, surfer vibe with perfect tunes, easy parking, too. Call to make an appointment and prepare to chill. read more

Convenient location and easy to get an appointment on short notice. I started coming here to get a haircut a few months ago and have not gone anywhere else since. read more

Great little barbershop. George and the other Barbers in here obviously care about their customers and their shop. Right in the heart of ale Segundo you can count on a quality cut and a convenient location. I don't even live here in El Segundo but when I am in town for wok I try and make time for a haircut at George's! read more

I got a less than great haircut here. I had to go home and fix a few things to be presentable, and there was a bit of a bald spot in the back. I left an earlier, overly harsh review, though. read more

I've been going here ever since moving to the El Segundo area a few years ago. These days, I won't go anywhere else for a haircut. George is an artist and the best barber I've ever had. He's also a great guy and really fun to talk to. Even though he has countless other customers, he always remembers my preferred cut every time I come in, and goes out of his way to make you feel valued as a customer. Highly recommend. read more

Both my 11-year-old son and I come here for our regular haircuts. Great style, fast, reasonably priced. We could not ask for more from our local barber shop! read more

I hope George reads this because I like his establishment. I've been to George's for about 10 haircuts or so. The first few were great and I decided to be a regular, however the quality control on weekdays has gone downhill in my opinion. Tony and his female coworker are the regulars on staff during the afternoons and are friendly and enjoyable while in the chair, however for whatever reason, they don't seem to be paying much attention to the job at hand. I've come away with uneven sideburns, specifics not followed, and the latest mistake: my fade was the correct length on one side of my head, and double the length on the other side. Another time, the Irish employee gave me a neck shave without asking, quite an underhanded way of adding an extra 5 dollars to my bill. Until the issue of quality-control is addressed, I can't justify repeatedly paying 20 dollars for absent-minded haircuts. Hopefully George can fix these issues and I can once again start going here regularly, because i would like to. read more

I have been going to George for many, many years. Simply put, the best barber I have been to so I would highly recommend him to all!!

Worst haircut EVER. Asked for a 2 on top, tapper the sides and back. This lady (with the shakes) proceeds to cut the top with a 2, and then starts to give me a fade. She left me hairs longer than a 2 on top. She also left me a line where her so called fade is supposed to be. I am going to have to cut my head with a zero and have it grow out again. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

George's Barber shop is the best in LA! The owner and namesake, George Barreto, is an awesome barber/stylist whose talent is only surpassed by his charm and the care he gives to his customers. I've spent over $100 for a hair cut at the high end Beverly Hills salons, and for a cool $20 bill at George's I get a better hair cut and it's a lot more fun. While this might look like a traditional barber shop from the outside, on the inside you will find free WiFi, plasma screen TV's with videos playing, a cool beach vibe with surf inspired decor, three hair cutting stations, and a really friendly and clean environment that is great for guys and the whole family. I recommend making a reservation with George himself, although the other two barbers are great as well, and allow half an hour as George takes his time to make sure you look perfect and get exactly the cut you want. Saturdays get packed and there are no reservations, so the best time I've found to sit with George is in the mornings during the week. George takes cash and credit/debit cards. A traditional cut is only $20 and George offers discounts for the military, seniors, and kids under 15. Once you try George you won't want to go anywhere else again for a hair cut! read more

My son's barbershop. Ellie is his barber and always does a good job. Great little local joint. Very casual. George, I believe, only works on the weekdays, because I've never met him before. This place stays pretty busy and it's a nice spot to hang around before and after your appointment. read more

My family has been going to George over 7 years .He's the Best ,He really knows his business and customers. He is a master with the straight razor (a real art that is lost) and gives you the best haircut you ever had. The place is super clean and super friendly. With George and Tony (2nd Barber) you get a warm reception. George has 2 plasma TV's, lots of Magazines and great tunes also some really cool decor. He takes reservations but not on Sat. (Its so worth the wait) Just word of mouth has brought this fine young Man lots of business and lots of friends read more

I prefer barber shops. There's nothing more comfortable than settling into a place you like, relaxing and getting a haircut. I found George's about six months ago. I'm getting to know El Segundo and like the Main Street USA vibe. And, George's has a comfortable blend of beachiness and rock n roll. Good music always playing. I've been going to Tina the whole time. I've got difficult to cut hair and Tina does a good job of creating some order among the curls and grey bristle. I definitely would recommend Tina or George. Even if it makes my wait longer. read more

Anyone looking for a great men's cut, look no further than George's Barber Shop in El Segundo. Tony is incredible and always has availability during the weekends when it seems to be difficult to get in other spots around the South Bay. What's even better are the prices - $15 for a buzz cut that includes razor shave. You just can't find that any place else. Excellent service, accessible location, and great music to pass the time. I recommend Tony to anyone looking for quality work. George - you have a loyal customer from now on! read more

Best barbershop in the south bay. George is the man. Always come away with a great hair cut.

George's barber shop is one of the best places around. George is friendly, professional and licensed. If you are a repeat customer like me he remembers what kind of cut you like. On my last haircut on Tuesday, April 20, he didn't have to ask me what I wanted. He cut my hair, shaved my neck, trimmed my eyebrows and it was just what I wanted. His shop is cool with a beach-surfing theme. You never have to wait long if you're a walk-in and you can make an appointment too. It feels like an old fashioned barbershop of SmallTown, USA with the personal touch and great customer service of the 21st century. I highly recommend this place! read more

I liked this place a lot. Quick, entertaining, and basically had a lot of the features I don't look for in a barber shop. I came away with a good cut minus a few details left off like even side burns / 1 side burn not cut at all. I would go back, and really enjoyed my experience, but I think $20 for a hair cut is a bit much... especially when it's not perfect. read more
