Very disappointed and furious with this place. The guy is friendly and location ok but he shaved one of my sideburns half an inch higher than the other and when I asked about it he suggested to shave the other to even out! Never admitting his mistake he then started saying he didn't do it and that I shaved my sideburn above my ear which sent me fuming! If he admitted and tried to fix his mistake I would have accepted hid apology instead he blamed me for his work. read more

For a nice clean mens hair cut. Faro is a pro and can pretty much do it the way you want it. This is the best local spot, near the beach, outdoors. Friendly. It is not the fancy salon style setup but it is the perfect place for a hair cut - friendly and first class. The results are way better than almost any cut I have had from those places. . A few weeks ago, I visited Waves for the first time. The location is awesome, as it is near my surf spot and one of my favorite Mexican restaurants(El Tarasco). I had a great conversation with Faro, plus this is the first barber to trim my eyebrows. I also like the straight razor on the neckline, as not every barbershop does that. This is only the 3rd time I've had the straight razor, and I love it. read more

Went in for a haircut. Said "Please don't touch the top; I just want the sides shorter." Faro sits you facing outside in a chair; you can't see what's happening while he's cutting. All good and I figure he's doing his thing. I think once or twice to ask about what he's doing but I figure he's just trimming for alignment. Dude cuts off 1.5" of my hair. It's not that long to start with. Says "oh I must have been thinking of someone else - sorry." Never again. read more

Not just for men! Faro trimmed and corrected the $100 pixie cut I got at a salon - for less than 1/2 that! He is a sweet guy, the location is very covid safe. He also taught me some things I didn't know about my hair - like where my part should lie and how to tame my cowlick. I also picked up a nice hair pomade. Good bye Supercuts...Hello Waves! Called in and made a swift same day appointment. Place was clean and personalized. Faro did a great job with my cut and used a straight razor for finishing touches. During my appointment, some locals also walked by and shouted some hellos to Faro which gave the place a true barber shop feel. It also means that the community knows him and his services. Great cut, friendly service and very reasonable prices. As long as I have hair, I'll be seeing this place again! read more

Waves barbershop is the best! I drive from culver city to get my haircut here. Faro is great at cutting hair and gives me a cut I love EVERY time. He takes his time no matter if people are waiting, and isn't all about turnover. Don't waste your time with those churn and burn factory barber shops. If you want to get a good cut, and not some weird head fungus from some right out of styling school bimbo, who is making her mistakes and learning on you (supercuts), come to waves!
