I've been a regular at this place for a few years now, and you are in good hands no matter who you see. Over the years, I've sat in a few different chairs, and most of their barbers have delivered a solid cut. These days, however, I exclusively book my appointments with Bob. He is skilled and fast. If you want a sharp haircut without spending your entire afternoon in the shop, Bob is definitely your guy. He gets you in and out looking great. The only downside worth mentioning is the cost. Prices creeped up over the years (from $27 to $40 for men's cut), which is a bit of a bummer. read more

I went in to get my hair curled by Judith (no trim, just a simple style. That was it.) not only did she put a ton of hairspray in. I mean... excessive amount!! I was charged $50?! I called for a men's haircut quote. There was a pause, and the receptionist stated " it's up to the stylist and depends on the length of the hair". In my 56 years of getting haircuts i have never been offered this pricing. If you cannot provide a price, I have to assume there is no consistency, and therefore a high risk of price gouging. Roman is amazing. He's a great guy that knows how to cut my hair just right. This Fantastic Sam's is so simple to contact; unfortunately not all Fantastic Sam's are like this. They answer their phones quickly so that you can easily make an appointment. They call to confirm appointments. They are efficient and usually run right on time. Haircuts are efficient. You get a shampoo and condition after every cut. The employees keep everything nice and clean. Everyone is so polite and attentive. Parking is plentiful as this place is in a shopping complex. There is parking right outside the business, but there is also some extra spaces in a covered (mini) structure right below. Highly recommended! read more

I took my 5 year old for a haircut today and so disappointed. The board of prices listed "Children's Cut $25 10 years old and younger" and was charged $33. When I asked why the front lady showed me the small print at the bottom "charge for extra length below shoulders $8". Her hair was barely below her shoulders and the haircut took at best 4 minutes. Charging an extra 30% to a child's cut when all They do is cut an inch off the bottom in a straight line makes absolutely no sense. We will not be coming back and will be letting friends and family not to either for children. read more

Went in today to get my haircut and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the woman who cut my hair (Veronica) was not very kind[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the prices were outrageous. I have very long hair, and it's thin but there's a lot of it so it gets pretty tangled after washing. She was pretty rude and kept complaining about how tangled it was and asking me why. Then told me to blow dry my hair after cutting it would be an EXTRA $40, making the total $85. I opted out and I went home on the verge of tears with wet hair and a barely decent cut. Rosie did miracles on my hair! I came in with a big matted knot and was unsure what was going to happen but she came in clutch! She spent 2hrs detangling my hair and then gave me a cut and style. I just did a walk in for my 9 yo daughter and we had Rosy, she had such a bad attitude. Not friendly and kind of rude. I had my little boy with me who asked her a couple of questions and she completely ignored him! I almost asked to be switched to someone else, I don't know if she was having a bad day but it was such a tense experience, if we decide to go here again, I will make sure we don't go with her. I've been coming here for years and continue to find Fantastic Sam's a good choice if you want a haircut but don't want to spend a ton of money. Their prices have climbed with time, and a recent price increase on November 1 has caused a basic men's haircut to cost $28 (up from $22 or $23). Each Fantastic Sam's location has its own pricing, but I've found this one to be quite reasonable. They do take reservations if you call ahead, but I've also had no problems as a walk-in. I've never felt rushed, and find this location to be quite clean and seems well-run from my perspective. There is a parking lot outside, as well as street parking if you can't find a spot in the lot. The salon takes credit cards and staff have always been wearing masks when I've gone since the pandemic started. read more

Emma is the best! I used to go to another place nearby and one day they had their bathroom blow up and they had to close for the day. I had an appointment at that place and had to get my haircut done. I then saw that Fantastic Sam's was nearby. Once there I got have a seat with Emma. Emma is by far the best hair stylist in the area! I used to go to another stylist in San Diego and that was several years ago and I have not been able to find a good hair stylist that I really enjoy going to see. That is, until Emma styled and cut my hair! Emma treats me like I am a Prince! My wife gets her haircut by Emma now as well too! Worse service experience ever! When I arrived to my appointment the power was out. I asked if I should reschedule they said they could still dye my hair since it was just color. Before I went inside she told me if I was able to get cash so I asked my boyfriend to get cash out for me. I asked her what the total was going to be she said $180 (hair dye and a blow out) I walk to my bfs car and she yells don't forget the tip! So when walking up to go back to the business she asked me did you tell him to get the tip!? I was so shocked so I just didn't answer her. Being someone who is in the beauty industry that also gets tips I was so uncomfortable cause I would NEVER expect a tip especially before even offering the service. The power went back on before I was able to even reschedule. I then told her I wanted black hair since my extensions were black and I just wanted it all to match my jet black extensions. she continues to tell me she wants to do them natural (a brown tint) when I kept telling her I didn't want them natural since my extensions were jet black. she ended up not dying my hair correctly. I can still see brown even though I said black! On top of that she did not know how to blow dry my hair. It was so bad! Ok sooooo we had an appointment... all 4 of us... all three sisters and our aunt.... First and foremost the guy immediately asked us if we are paying cash and we said yes -- although some people just left or complained why is he not accepting credit card ... but we gave him a chance. His name is Johnny... Anyway then the guy that my sisters had asked for the appointment two days ago had taken a walk in which was fine but after waiting for an hour he finally was ready for us where Johnny's wife not knowing offered his services to this elderly who had just walked in -- without apologizing or anything she then realized we were all sitting there waiting... my aunt being in the similar service work was shocked how careless Mimi (the wife of the salon owner) was .. They are too expensive and service is God awful... they don't honor appointments at all!!! And raised their prices ... Mimi Should attend to customers instead of being on her phone and being careless and making mistakes .... We are skipping this spot for sure read more

took my little cousin to get a hair cut. the cut was pretty and she liked it very much. So far the experience had been pleasant until we were paying and the woman ar the register tried to convince my cousin to tip the lady who cut her hair with her change. I told my cousin tipping is a choice and we had already payed a lot of money for the cut, It was her own money she had been saving. The lady at the register ran after us when we exited the salon yelling that we were obliged to tip. I won't be going back there. Getting married and for a long time, I had started cutting my own hair to save a little extra. However, I needed a pro for the job this time. I searched up on yelp and this had some excellent ratings already. I gave them a number and name and within minutes I was called. I showed them pictures for was I was wanting my hair styled as. The hair stylist (the manager of this location) put all the pictures together. He looked real sleek cutting my hair too. But the the finishing result wasn't disappointing! I like how I will for the wedding. Plus, I was shine, but got the courage to ask about my sideburns being buzzed off, but he did it upon my request.
