We came to Salon Flourish from out of town to have our hair styled for our wedding. The salon staff took great care of us and our hairstyles turned out amazing! We were able to set up a trial a few days before and the stylists did a great job of replicating the styles on the day of and making both experiences feel special. My updo was done by Cesar and it was absolutely beautiful. He was able to work off of a reference photo I had and incorporated the changes I wanted to make. My wife had her hair curled by Sheena and Amber, and both of them did a great job as well. Both of our hairstyles stayed in place for the whole day even with quite windy conditions. I cannot recommend Salon Flourish enough and we will absolutely return if we find ourselves back in Manhattan Beach for an event in the future.
Sheena! Went in with lots of problem in my hair and a range of color. Sheena! Thoughtfully analyzed my hair. Consulted. And carefully explained the process. Sheena! Each step of the process, from using Malibu CPR in hopes to strip some of the horrible color, to methodically going through each layer of my hair to ensure it was all covered with the color, Sheena! And the way this artist blew out my hair, at a whole different level. Sheena! Did I mention that the entire salon got along? Sheena! Absolutely epic experience and I will be going back, why? Sheena!
1 Star I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was too concerning not to share. I had a very upsetting experience here. I came in because the blonde parts of my hair had turned slightly pink from a conditioner I used. The stylist looked at my hair and then asked the owner what to do. The owner never actually examined my hair herself but instructed him to apply a treatment to remove the pink tone. After the treatment, my hair became extremely knotted. While he was washing my hair, I asked if the treatment could damage it and he assured me everything was fine. However, once I sat down and started brushing it, my hair began falling out in large knots. This has never happened to my hair before not even when it has been bleached. I immediately asked for the owner to come look at it. When she did, she dismissed it and said the hair falling out was "normal." This absolutely did not feel normal. My hair was coming out in clumps and felt severely damaged. The situation then became even more uncomfortable. I felt blamed for the issue as she said this was something I came in with, but that wasn't the case. My hair was fine prior to the treatment. I was also accused of not wanting to pay, even though I had never refused payment. At one point the police were mentioned, which was shocking considering I had simply asked them to look at what had happened to my hair. When I tried to take a photo of the hair that had fallen out, the owner took it away so I couldn't photograph it after I mentioned I planned to leave a review. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, I felt I was rushed out of the salon. I was told I still had to pay, which I was willing to do, but then she refused to take my payment and asked me to leave. My hair was still wet and not even fully brushed out when I left. The owner also stood extremely close to me during the conversation, which felt very uncomfortable and intimidating. Overall this experience felt very unprofessional and upsetting. I came in hoping to fix a small tone issue and left with damaged hair and a very negative experience.
Highly recommend! Must see Kevin Lang for your color/any treatments! Absolutely the best at what they do and so personable and patient so you get exactly what you want. (Matt for cute and the owner for literally everything are great too :) ). I found them 3 years ago when I was cautious with beauty services due to COVID and pregnancy. This place is the absolute BEST! Everyone is so kind and welcoming. Great (gorgeous) location, natural/safe products. found my new go-to spot!
Salon Flourish is a cute salon with amazing stylist. Shannon Exceeded my expectations! She listed to everything I asked for. I enjoy being blonde but can't manage the upkeep with being a mama of two. I asked to keep the front light and some darker parts to my back. I also get anxiety when it comes to cutting my hair. Shannon listened and and gave me a beautiful trim. Looking forward to seeing Shannon again in the future ! I highly recommend Shannon at salon flourish!
I would like to thank Brenda for an excellent job on my hair. she took on previously treated hair & was tasked with my desire for an ashy blonde look which she did an incredible job with. she listened to my needs and talked me through her color combining process. aside from being a great colorist, her hair cutting abilities are great - she gave me curtain bangs and some volume lifting layers. The vibe of the salon is very clean and modern and it is situated in the most beautiful beach location. The staff works together to ensure timeliness and a fun experience - they even serve refreshments :). I brought my laptop in an was working for one of my appointments. Thank you Brenda, for not just being a rockstar hair stylist but an awesome person. Can't wait to be in your chair again.
I recently visited Salon Flourish and Matt D. was my stylist. I have notoriously difficult hair (naturally curly, thick, super long) which can be quite a challenge to manage, but Matt was patient, kind, and extremely communicative throughout the process. He took the time to really listen to my concerns and preferences (dry cut), explaining each step as he worked. His skill and attention to detail resulted in a great outcome, far beyond my expectations. I left the salon feeling not only confident but also grateful for his professionalism and the warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Great service and hair stylists. I had a coffee and crackers while I was there. Nice, precise work.

The best experience at Salon Flourish! I'm always indecisive about my hair, and I went in for a blow out before my engagement party. Sheena was so accommodating, helpful, and did an amazing job! She gave me multiple options, and ended up knowing what I wanted before I even realized it. She was so kind and talented, even with my many layers. Will definetly be going back! Salon Flourish is now one of my Top favorite salons in the South Bay. Kevin was my stylist and he did an AMAZING job. We went short with a lot of beautiful texture along with a deep conditioning repair treatment that I didn't realize I really needed for my blonde hair. The ambiance, the staff and the music were all very satisfying. Location is also very beautiful, right by the beach. I will definitely be coming back to color my hair. I live in Murrieta. I've searched high and low for someone who is trained and qualified to do the American Wave. There aren't many in CA, surprisingly. So glad I came across Jaime. She was fast, efficient, and doesn't try to push products on you - which actually made me want to buy product because she is great. She's my kind of stylist too. Social and professional, but not super talkative which allows me to enjoy the salon experience. I've never seen anyone work so quickly with perms. It's a lengthy drive for me and definitely out of my way, but worth it to go to her for the American Wave. read more

I went earlier and I initially went it for a gloss because I had just got my hair done elsewhere and I just didn't like the tone of my blonde everything else was good except for the tone . So when I got there Helen said in order for me to be the tone of blonde I wanted, she needed to bleach my hair again. Which I found kinda sus but she sounded like she knew what she was talking about so I trusted her. She was really nice and made me feel comfortable. I thought everything was going well until she washed the bleach off. I did right away notice some orange but I was trying to trust the process. Once she applies the toner and washes it off, I still see some orange in there. I initially expressed how I didn't want any warm in my blonde. I've never had to do 2 sessions to go blonde I always lift well. Especially if she was just "touching up" some pieces. She starts to dry my hair and it was still orange. I expressed how I didn't like that. She said well we would have to schedule another session -_- at this point I'm already calling BS if you aren't capable of doing what I asked, I would have appreciated if she would have been honest. She never expressed that I would have orange in my hair. Like I said I've never had trouble lifting. I asked her why didn't she leave the bleach on for longer she didn't say anything. She continued to blame the previous blonde I had in there. If you're licensed and I'm paying $330 Im expecting you to know what to do. Anyways she continues to blow dry my hair and as I'm walking out the salon in natural light I realized it was much more orange than what i saw inside the salon AND I had to go back to ask her to finish blow drying it. It was still wet. I believe she intentionally did this so that I wouldn't see all the patches in my hair. I'm super disappointed. I'm not exaggerating when I say I cried in my car. Everyone was really nice and I thought I had finally found a great hair guru but I was absolutely wrong. I don't usually write negative reviews but I feel absolutely played. If you decide to go here please make sure they can deliver the results you want. My bday is today and I was expecting to have beautiful blonde hair. Also the light in these pictures doesn't do justice to show how orange and patchy it really is UPDATE : I went in yesterday because I was sad about my hair, Karen the owner of the salon greeted me at the door. I showed her my concerns. At first I was scared to go in bc of my previous review but she was soo kind and helpful. Let me add that all of her staff is so nice ! We both believe that there was a miscommunication with the previous person who did my hair. Karen was clear about how my hair would come out and she didn't over promise anything but she out did herself. She fixed the patches and harsh band at the root. I left so happy. I wish she'd take new clients but she left me in good hands with Jamie. So I'll be returning for my toner and more dimension with Jamie. Thank you once again Karen. God bless you read more
