I've sent so many friends to her, and every single one has ended up switching from their previous hairstylist to Janelle permanently. Unfortunately, this experience was incredibly disappointing. I showed the first stylist multiple reference photos of what I wanted, but she ended up adding a very dark root color to my already lightened hair, which was the complete opposite of the look I asked for. After expressing my concerns, the salon did have another stylist step in to help correct it, which I appreciated, although I waited nearly two hours in between. The second stylist made me feel much more comfortable and did improve the situation, but I still left unhappy with my hair overall. The correction consisted of using a color remover on the roots and applying toner to the rest of my hair, and I was charged $265 for it. At the end of the day, my hair looked better than what the first stylist did but still nowhere near what I originally asked for or envisioned. I'm leaving this review because I think communication and transparency are incredibly important, especially with color services. What upset me most was not just the outcome, but the way the situation was handled overall. I understand that corrections can take time and effort, but if I was going to be charged $265 for a corrective service after my hair was initially mishandled, that should have been clearly communicated to me beforehand. I truly wanted to love this salon and leave feeling taken care of, but unfortunately I left feeling disappointed, uncomfortable, and unhappy with the overall experience.

I've lived 100 yards from ERISS and finally, feeling desparate one Friday night I went in without an appointment. Only 15 minutes into a magazine I got great service. I love my hair being washed and got a nice throur;gh wash and condition. I told my story and Judy listened and went to work. This is now MY SALON. I am so pleased with the result. Thank you Judy! You were great and four days later my hair still looks great. (the lady at the bank said so). The week before I sat on a bench close to the surf board barber shop and watched women coming out of ERISS looking good, smiling. I had been putting off getting my hair done - despondent due to my "past" hairdresser disappointing me so much. Where to turn? I now know. ERISS was even a fun atmosphere to wait in; nice music, professional place, nice people. Need I say more?! Thanks a bunch, Linda S. read more

Eriss is a lovely person and a very skilled hair dresser. Both are important. She listens to what you say and follows your lead, always giving advice where needed. I moved to El Segundo from Boston and brought the color recipe for my hair foils and pictures for my cuts. She got both color and cut down pat the first time out! And she continues to look at my pictures every time I bring them in, not at all insulted that my concerns to follow the photos make me a bit of a neurotic! And she fixed my sister's hair color, which had been ruined by another salon, in two visits. On top of this her prices are very reasonable, especially important in this bad economy and for someone like me living on a very limited budget. She's the real deal. Don't miss her! read more
