Let me start this review by saying that I had one of the BEST hair cut experiences of my life at Off Code. I'm not one to leave reviews often, but when a place like this delivers beyond my expectations, I have to leave a review. I've been commuting to Fullerton for my haircuts for the last couple of years and decided to give this local place a try after my fiancé found it online. After doing our initial research, we were impressed. From an aesthetic, clean website with an easy booking system to dope photos and profiles that highlight the specialities of each of their barbers/stylists. Not to mention they also have their own designated coffee bar where you can order a drink (free of charge) from their app--how sick is that? I ordered the Mazaplan latte, as recommended by Mateo, and it was straight fire. In addition to that, we noticed they have their own podcast and shoot their episodes from inside of the clean, minimalist set up at the grooming salon. The interior design here is a vibe and uniquely crafted. To say I was impressed is an understatement. The main part of this review is, of course, my haircut. I cut my hair with Carlos, who is the real deal. I've struggled to find people who specialize in doing scissor work and textured haircuts--luckily I found Carlos. Prior to the cut, he viewed my reference photos and offered recommendations and explained how he could achieve the look tailored to my hair and head shape. He took his time and made each cut intentional and nailed the desired shape and cut that I was looking to achieve. He is not only incredibly talented, but also humble, patient, knowledgeable, and keen to give you the perfect cut you desire. But to be honest, this is equally true for every stylist/barber here as well. While I was getting my haircut, i noticed the dedication and keen attention to detail each of the barbers had during their cuts. Also worth mentioning was the amazing post cut mini-facial + steam towel combo. And shoutout to Mateo for his extraordinary customer service, the amazing Mazaplan latte he made, and the genuine vibes this place emits. This place is in a league of its own and is a gem. When I tell you these guys really came through! My nephew hit me with "Tia I want my hair done BEFORE I start school" It was Sunday night, he started Wednesday, oh and he lives an hour away from the South Bay and was only in town for one day (Monday). He had something specific in his mind and apparently his regular barber his dad takes him to was just not gonna do for him. So I began my desperate search and found Off Code. I called first thing Monday morning and they THANKFULLY were able to take him that same day! Carlos was his barber and he did an awesome job! Do you guys know how PICKY and SPECIFIC a teenage boy is about their hair!? But Carlos and the rest of the guys were patient, thorough, and informative during the initial consult. Carlos made sure to cater to my nephews requests and answer any questions we had. They have a whole bar inside and make craft drinks. My nephew was offered a complimentary drink while he got his cut and I thought that was a nice touch to the overall experience. The whole experience from beginning to end was EXCEPTIONAL! From booking a same day appointment, to the final result and everything in between. My nephew could not stop talking about it, he felt "pampered, but not in a girly way" were his words!
