I made my appointment with Johnny for 10:30 am. The Vibe was very chill and relaxing in the shop. The music was dope and everyone in the shop was cool. Johnny was on time with the haircut. He asked me what I wanted and began doing his thing. He was very friendly and attentive and very detailed. He asked questions to make sure I got the cut I was looking forward. He was all done within the hour. It was definitely worth the $40 plus tip I paid for. It's always a bit hard to find the right barber in LA but I must say I found one here in Lawndale, CA of all places. It was real easy to use Booksy to book my appointment through their Instagram account. I'll be back to this spot soon. I highly recommend SB Shave Company with my boi Johnny or any of the dudes here. I cut my hair with Carlos, who is the real deal. I've struggled to find people who specialize in doing scissor work and textured haircuts--luckily I found Carlos. Prior to the cut, he viewed my reference photos and offered recommendations and explained how he could achieve the look tailored to my hair and head shape. He took his time and made each cut intentional and nailed the desired shape and cut that I was looking to achieve. He is not only incredibly talented, but also humble, patient, knowledgeable, and keen to give you the perfect cut you desire. But to be honest, this is equally true for every stylist/barber here as well. While I was getting my haircut, i noticed the dedication and keen attention to detail each of the barbers had during their cuts. To him, this meant the top needs to be 1 inch. After I saw my long hair drop onto my lap, I immediately told him to stop and I wanted to confirm with him exactly what I wanted. I spent the next 5 minutes trying to explain to him that 1 inch off the top didn't mean I wanted it to be 1 inch, but for it to be whatever my current length is minus 1 inch. He insisted that I wanted it to be 1 inch. I gave up and let him finish the cut, and I obviously didn't tip him. I don't think he noticed since he apparently can't add or subtract. I'm going to an event that I've been waiting a year for and was hoping to look good for it, but words can't describe how bad this haircut makes me look.
