Reception and front office was rude when I first arrived. Yes, we are all stressed but you don't have to be disrespectful. My cleaning was sub-par and probably the worst I've ever had. They have a crazy credit card payment system and they may have charged me twice because they thought it didn't go thru. The doctor was very thorough and I felt comfortable with working with him. Last, since I will not be returning, I asked for my medical records to be sent over to the new office. Good luck with that process as they won't answer the phone or respond to emails. It will take at least a week to get them transferred over according to the person who handles that process. Don't be fooled by the low intro prices they offer, it's not worth it and the other charges can get expensive quickly.

Short version: SMILE HEROES IS AMAZING. A++++. Highly recommend!!!…read more Long version: Just moved to the area and two weeks ago, my three year old son woke up with his face, swollen on the right side. Needless to say, it was a trip to urgent care because it was Sunday and there were no dentists open. He had an abscess tooth. Antibiotics were prescribed and we were told to watch throughout the day to see if the swelling went down or grew worse. By the next morning we were noticing a slight worsening and so on the the E.R. we went. (I preface all this to give you the best picture of a family, scared for our little boy and unsure what to do or where to go). The E.R. doctor told us to get a dentist, right away. Here I am, completely at a loss. I do a quick Google search and there is Smile Heroes with top ratings and stellar reviews. "Sure," I think, "this is the internet. It's easy to pad the opinion to get clients." I called to gauge the atmosphere and was greeted by a friendly receptionist. More than that, I explained my son's dilemma and she was legitimately concerned and intent on getting us in as soon as possible. I'm feeling better. Here's at least one person who seems to care and not put on the clinical robot facade. Okay. Onto the Dentist... WHICH WAS AMAZING (two times amazing!) First off, the setting is brilliant. The dentists have made the place to be a sort of gaming center, which immediately engaged my children and stifled all those 'scary dentist fears'. The kids played, we filled out the paperwork in peace and the staff was incredibly helpful. My wife was able to go in the back with my son. The dental assistants were very gentle with him and with her concerns. And then Dr. Pham was in to see them within a few minutes. He was very kind and thorough in his examination. He identified the problem and recommended we get my son in that very evening to take care of the tooth. So my wife comes back that night with my son and he is happy to go back and play! Unfortunately for him, there was not much play, because the dentist was incredible efficient in getting him back and settled in a room where my wife held him while a movie played. All my wife's questions and concerns were addressed. The procedure was extremely quick. My son was well taken care of, throughout, and Dr. Pham even called that night and the following morning to check on him. Dr. Pham has a gift of empathy and patience that put us all at ease. He is REALLY GOOD with children. He and his wife even came out to chat with us after our son's check up, just to get to know us. His wife played with our kids while we talked. Such a great couple! I cannot recommend this establishment enough. These people legitimately care, which is unfortunately not something you find in many businesses, today. Everyone on staff is respectful and friendly. Such a wonderful experience. My family is so blessed to have found Smile Heroes.

I know I fell asleep when she worked on repairing a filling. They worked with our schedules and we all were able to get our cleanings and fillings done with our insurance. Billing was very clear and they asked permission before doing any procedures. I felt very safe with their COVID procedures. They do temperature checks and limit capacity. I believe they have a East and West location and went to the Sunland park location. Best of all it's right across from Gorditas Tony so we're able to get yummy food right after.

But I had an issue with the lady upfront this past Monday at around noon. I had a denture made and I was told to stop by if I needed to get it adjusted more. I did need to get the dentures adjusted a few days later, which was expected. Unfortunately the lady upfront would not allow me to see any dental staff because I had to make an appointment. I told her what my dentist said and she said too bad. I could not wait anymore days because of the discomfort of my new dentures. She would not cooperate but I was persistent. She mentioned that I needed an appointment no matter what. The staff was out to lunch. I had to wait on my dentist return later in the week. This went on for about an hour before she relented. Once I got in to get the adjustment I felt better immediately. And I was in and out in 15 minutes. I will continue to stay with Agave Dental because of the quality of the entire staff. If I wasn't happy with the superb service I would have moved on. It's too bad that one disrespectful person could hurt a business without them even knowing.

Jessica made everything easy for me with her quick responses and kept me on track. The hygienist did a great job hands down 5stars same with Leslie and her team mate made sure I was well every chance they had. They work great with the doctor! Everyone and even the manager had been very polite, its like as if they are 100% real people. Either they get paid very well or they love what they do! (Hint for Dr Amir) They answered every question and made my visit welcomed and at home. I couldn't answer with my mouth full of spit, pillow block, and few other things lol... But the assistants and Dr. Amir were very attentive and cared about my well being during dental procedures. Cons: Remember I said I felt at home? Yes, I went in on a very pact date, Christmas Eve. But... I felt at home home.. watched a full movie. Think the words gone out that Dr Amir and his team are rockstars and the place just gets packed easily. Maybe they need another Dr. Or... they may just need to call in less appointments daily. Last con: Communication, In my opinion I noticed a little communication going on and thought they may need to work on it a bit more. Like team planning before going into a room with a patient. I had a whole lot done in two days and will be going back with Dr. Amir and his team!

You expect them to tell you everything they are going to do to you prior to consenting to any type or surgery right? But that was one thing that was never mentioned. The lady that comes in to charge you and claims to be the office manager is the the rudest person in that place. When she explains the charges she tries to tell you everything quick like she's obviously trying to make you feel rushed before so you can sign quickly. When asked questions she barely answers and now I see why. When I called back to ask why I was being charged for a bone graft the lady named Claudia who I'm sure was the same lady I dealt with due to her tone and attitude in her voice began acting very hostile, extremely rude and basically couldn't give a straight answer. Her reasoning was, we charged you that because you got it done. Now I looked at videos of what a bone replacement graft is and my procedure looked nothing like that and again was never mentioned. Anyway, learning experience. Positive things: the staff ( besides that awful woman) were very nice and welcoming. I dealt with the dentist that extracted my tooth and a different one when I went back for the follow up and both very nice and professional, answered all my questions. I didn't know about the bone graft at this time until after I left the follow up if not that would have been a definite question. I would say next time but I'm not so sure if I can go back to this place. Im very upset to that "manager" handled the situation.
