This place appears to be driven by a group of doctors that are really cash driven. Teeth whitening…read morefor $500 plus $100 pre-required exam that is rich. The technician was friendly and dedicated but the cleaning results were less than satisfactory. So would not recommend. I was left with the impression that this place is just driven by financial greed. A mandatory $100 examination before whitening is not common. Many dentists include the oral exam as part of a regular checkup or simply waive it. Requiring a separate $100 exam for a healthy patient seeking only whitening makes the total $600, which is above what many patients in El Paso pay.

One day the assistant came in with a denture and said this was mine. I said I came herere because I am allergic to it. On two occasions the assistant said I will remind the dentist of this. Two visits later they came in with the denture and said my work is complete except for a little trimming of my denture. I paid over 15 000 for this work. My husband went.there had a tooth pulled and decided to not go back because of my experience. Now the dentist charged him appr. 10,000 for implants. He never.had the work done. Our insurance was billed and paid. Also a finance company is billing us for the difference. The issue is the work wasn't even done. This is fraud. Do not use this office.

Prior to finding Dr. Castro, I hadn't successfully been to a dentist in 10 years. Not only do I…read morehave PTSD, but due to several horrific experiences including a botched oral surgery that required general anesthesia, I had been TERRIFIED of going to the dentist. I even tried a children's dentist here in El Paso at Kool Smiles just for him to accuse me of being a drug addict. He then yelled at me and literally stormed out the room (slamming the door behind him which scared me even more) all because I was shaking and flinching when he touched me. These are things I cannot control. I would often get emotional as well because of how scared I was. I truly thought there was no hope for me. One day in 2018, I realized I had the worst of the worst when it comes to tooth infections. I was in unbearable agony. I googled "sedation dentistry El Paso" and thankfully, Dr. Castro was one of the first names to pop up. I called several places that day and not only was Dr. Castro's staff IMMEDIATELY concerned about me, they told me to come in that very day so the doctor could take a look at me. I asked them a million questions and they assured me Dr. Castro was the best and he knows how to handle a case like mine. First arriving at his office I was comforted by his staff and the quiet back room they put me in. I had anxiety just sitting in the dentist chair so the girl gave me the remote to my personal TV to try and relax. Each chair has its own TV in the room. After I was made very comfortable, Dr. Castro came in shortly after and began a very intimate and caring interview about my PTSD. I was really shocked by this. Never have I had a dentist just sit down to talk to me to assess what my needs and issues are before even attempting to look into my mouth. For medical purposes, he asked about my trauma and wanted to know about every single bad dental experience I've had in my life. Once I had told him everything, he asked if it was okay if he could look at my tooth. Even though I felt very safe and confident with him, I had all my natural reactions such as flinching when he came near my face. Nothing fazed him. He proceeded at my comfort and stayed calm the entire time. When he was finished he told me, "you're really not the worst case I've seen. You have absolutely NOTHING to worry about! YOU DID GREAT!!!" The relief that washed over me in that moment was life changing. I hurried to my car when it was over because I couldn't help but breakdown into tears because it was as if I was finally letting go of 25 years of abuse and malpractice by the dental industry. I ended up needing a root canal and crown for that really bad tooth. Dr. Castro gave me antibiotics to help the infection and then Dr. Stuart (who is a few doors down) did the root canal (which is his specialty) and Dr. Castro did my crown. It was very expensive but to this day, the tooth is beautiful. Any issues I had with it were immediately corrected and I now have a healthy tooth with zero issues. Unfortunately, the extensive work Dr. Castro needs to finish in my mouth isn't possible because I used every last penny of my savings to fix the most immediate issues. But I'm telling you, it was worth every single cent. And every place he has referred me to get the other work done that he himself doesn't do have been phenomenal as well. Dr. Castro REALLY knows his stuff, and best of all, he's an extremely caring person. Every time I've been in his care, he has ALWAYS called me from his personal phone to check on me the very next morning. I've never experienced that even from a doctor before in my life. I also have the emergency number saved and I know I can call it whenever I have an urgent matter now that I'm an established patient (which I've had to do). I feel like I can trust dentistry again because of Dr. Castro. I'm trying to save up the money to bring in my brain damaged and paralyzed mother in to see him because he is the only person I will trust with her dental care. If anyone can help my mom who doesn't have control over her mouth, it's him. The miracles he worked on me is proof of that. Whenever that does happen, I'll be sure to report back on how that goes because I NEVER see anything about dentists who can handle stroke/brain damaged patients. This is something I feel needs to change because they are a people in need. But I have every faith that Dr. Castro will be the dentist I'll be able to write reviews all over the Internet about after he sees my mom. That way I can hopefully help another patient like my mom find Dr. Castro in the future, as I hope I'm helping whoever is reading this find him. Lastly, I want to make sure to mention that I have NEVER had so much of a hint of rudeness or disrespect from ANY of the staff or Dr. Castro himself. They have gone above and beyond for me EVERY SINGLE TIME. You won't find a better dentist in El Paso, possibly in the whole country.

This dentists office sucks plain and simple. And to top if…read moreoff their staff is horrible and rude. They are a half-assed team and won't work with you if you need it. I went to them for crowns to finalize a long and complicated dental process. Not only did they never schedule me once the necessary supplies were in stock, they also failed to let me know there was an insurance denial (one that COULD HAVE been easily fixed). Instead, after I called over an entire week and always put on hold for 20+ minutes, they told me I had to wait another half a year before I could have the procedure done. why? No one has told me anything. So I discussed with the insurance company what paperwork was needed from them. I am happy to do my own patient advocating. And I let them know the most minute details of how to make sure I was to get insurance coverage. I literally walked them through the website and explained what exactly was required of them per the insurance company. As if...this is their first time? as if..this isn't their job?? they are that lazy. Once I was done with that, I called back to see if the process was completed. and I got YELLED at by a clearly burnt out, old, secretary that clearly couldn't be bothered with anything that was not part of her mundane daily tasks. A patient needs you to do something a little extra out of routine? God Forbid you help them out. So, she yelled at me that I needed to conference call my insurance company with them and demanded to know WHO at the insurance company I spoke to. Excuse me? Who I spoke to at the 1-800 number? Dont be ridiculous. The information I got from the insurance company were the all the steps necessary that they needed to provide in order to grant me access to care. Then this SECRETARY continued to yell at me this procedure was NOT urgent. OH!!!! I had no idea you knew the finer details of my case and that you also went to dental school. That is a very bold stance for a secretary to tell you what you need and don't. She totally overstepped here after already dropping the ball on processing insurance. So I had a lengthy conversation with the dentist instead. Totally passive. Called me later and left me a voicemail they were "going to take care of me". A month later, I call the insurance company to ask the status of the authorization they sent. WELL. Denied again because the staff didn't do ANYTHING we discussed. They submitted the exact same paperwork (same lazy people mentioned before). AND the dentist did not include ANY notes about what was needed , indication , and rationale for why insurance should cover it. I am dropping them so fast and moving on. From day 1, all the "hiccups" in my accessing care due to their failures in patient management, they have NEVER once reached out to me to let me know what was going on. I have taken everything into my own hands to make sure I get what I need done. And they are still half-assing their responsibility to their patients. I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone at all.
