Agave Dental is my family's choice for all our dental needs. Great service and excellent dental care! We highly recommend it. But I had an issue with the lady upfront this past Monday at around noon. I had a denture made and I was told to stop by if I needed to get it adjusted more. I did need to get the dentures adjusted a few days later, which was expected. Unfortunately the lady upfront would not allow me to see any dental staff because I had to make an appointment. I told her what my dentist said and she said too bad. I could not wait anymore days because of the discomfort of my new dentures. She would not cooperate but I was persistent. She mentioned that I needed an appointment no matter what. The staff was out to lunch. I had to wait on my dentist return later in the week. This went on for about an hour before she relented. Once I got in to get the adjustment I felt better immediately. And I was in and out in 15 minutes. I will continue to stay with Agave Dental because of the quality of the entire staff. If I wasn't happy with the superb service I would have moved on. It's too bad that one disrespectful person could hurt a business without them even knowing. read more

Most of the dentists and techs are pleasant and seem knowledgeable. But stay away from Dr Shawn Beals. He's terrible at what he does and his incompetence is immense. Highly unprofessional. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Spivack and his staff when I went to get a temporary crown put in place. I was anxious, but they did everything that they could to calm my nerves and make sure that I was comfortable. Everyone was very professional. The office is very modern and clean. Condescending and mocking are not what I need in a dentist. He also failed to notice that a tooth was abscessed and now I have to pay for it on my own because my insurance has been charge by him for being seen. Pretty much he does cleanings and fillings and because I didn't have either of those needs I was not even close to a priority for his time. He threw in a video when I asked questions. Thanks for the personal touch, now I have to find someone who will actually look at my mouth not just the potential pay check. read more

I have had a few cleanings here by hygienist Kelsey. She is very attentive and gentle. I am very particular about dentists because I used to work for one in another state and I know they can be weird. I brought my daughter in after she got her braces off in another state and to my shock she had three cavities. My daughter (11) is a drama queen and needs to be sedated for things such as stitches and throws tantrums for routine immunizations. I knew fillings would not be fun. I avoid the "chain" pediatric dentists at all costs because they are a rip off. Anyway, I forked over the extra $47 for nitrous for my daughter and Dr. Spivack has a shaking technique he uses for his lidocaine injection. The lower jaw is usually a very uncomfortable injection and there is no way around it. With the distraction of the shaking my daughter didn't feel it, and she cooperated very well. She tolerated the fillings well and Dr. Spivack was explaining things as he went along. I applaud his patience with my bratty child and I feel better about bringing my kids here. read more

I recently went for my semiannual checkup yesterday at Dr. Spivack's office, which is located in the NE off Dyer. This is actually my fourth time here to his practice and each time has been a hassle free experience. On each occasion, the dental hygienist have been polite and professional. Out of three I have had in the past, I decided on staying with Amy. She has performed my last two checkups/cleanings with great concern throughout the cleaning process, which in my opinion is a great attribute. As we all know, no one likes going to the dentist. As far as Dr. Spivack is concerned, he routinely comes in after Amy has thoroughly cleaned my teeth and inspects my choppers for any serious ailments affecting my mouth; e.g., cancer, cavities, fillings, future crowns, etc... He does this process with all patients. Each time has been a pleasurable experience with Dr. Spivack. For those of you, who are military retired, such as I, Tricare Dental is accepted. Lastly, one receives a goody bag, not of candy, but a toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste too. While I live here in this great city, Dr. Spivack will be my dentist. read more
