There is no Oral Surgeon better than Dr Maranon. He's a master at what he does. His spotless office, is run like clockwork. His staff are lovely and very knowledgeable. I've had Dental Gum Surgery and Implants there twice. Every time it's been a major success. He's compassionate. Professional. Had a great sense of humor ! Extremely respectful and friendly. I almost didn't go to Dr. Maranon because when I called them to request an appointment, they couldn't quote me over the phone. Since dental work is expensive I wanted to know what price to expect before paying for a consultation fee - so I made an appointment with someone else who came highly recommended by my regular dentist - That surgeon scheduled me for surgery months out, then cancelled my case 2 weeks before it was to be performed because it was a complicated case and referred me to Dr. Maranon! Everything happens for a reason, because I couldn't be happier or more confident in having my surgery with Dr. Maranon. Everyone in their office including Dr. Maranon is so nice, caring and accommodating. I'm just over one week post-op now and I had almost NO pain at all and no prescription pain medication. They made an experience I was dreading, into no big deal at all. In fact, I really enjoyed meeting everyone in their office - they're lovely people, my results are perfect AND, the fees for my procedure ended up being less than what I had been quoted to me by a less experienced surgeon. Do not hesitate to make Dr. Maranon your first, and last call if you need oral surgery. My experience was flawless! read more

I recently had all four of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Shahe Dishakjian, and the entire experience was truly stellar from start to finish. Dr. Dishakjian and his amazing team made me feel genuinely cared for every step of the way. His nurse, Tracy, and the wonderful woman at the front desk, Gloria, were especially kind to both me and my family. The atmosphere of the practice is lively and warm, you can tell everyone there really enjoys what they do. I was treated like family, and Dr. Dishakjian has personally called me twice already to check in on my healing process, which meant a lot. I couldn't recommend this office more highly. In fact, my brother is now having the same procedure done because we are so confident he will receive the same excellent care. Dr. Maranon and his whole team are above and beyond excellent! When I came to the office last week having a dental trauma that needed immediate emergency surgery, Dr. Maranon, nurse Tracy and the entire team were so calming, welcoming and skillful in helping me have the surgery so I can heal from the dental emergency -- my husband was with me and we both felt welcomed into the office as if we were family. I highly recommend Dr. Maranon and his wonderful practice! Truly I am deeply grateful to him!!!!! read more

Dr.Maranon provides excellent and in my case painless care without opioids. His is very thorough in evaluating what needs to be done and being aware of your individual health issues. Before a procedure he provides an excellent booklet that gives patients important information so they can prepare safely for their treatment and follow post treatment instructions that can support healing as well. He requests patients to call and ask questions if needed or report a concern once they've gone home, and responds promptly. He has a wonderful staff that is very well trained and very kind to patients. read more

Highly Impressed! I bit my tongue again and it was bleeding. I was able to schedule an appoitment with Dr. Maranon the next day. I must say that Dr. Maranon has the nicest medical staff in LA (and I have been to quite a few offices in my lifetime). They are super friendly and highly professional. Dr. Maranon himself possess a great sense of humor and puts one at ease. He checked out my tongue and concluded that I did not need a stitch. I was ready to pay when leaving and this is when his office staff surprised me by not charging me for the consultation. All I can say is Dr. Maranon and his staff are a class act. read more

I have been seeing Dr Maranon for implants. He and his staff are top notch. I am always treated like I'm their only patient, they are very organized, professional and friendly. Be warned about this office. This review is not about the Dr's surgical abilities it's about how corrupt they are. When we were told at our very expensive consultation (that was unnecessary) that they did not take insurance but would bill for us I asked what percentage can we expect back? Janet said about 80%. In the moment, her eyes were giving me the expertise of an expert closer at a time share. My 83 year old mother was in pain and had finished her round of antibiotics. Basically we had no choice during a pandemic. When I just called to confront them about their deceptive practices she said well we aren't in network with any dentist. Really? So that means that 80% coverage was a lie from the get go. Her private insurance paid $230 (which they received and kept) of the $1500 + dental bill. And no amount of new math will make that 80%. Not even 50% Why? BECAUSE ALL out of network physicians are covered at a much lower percentage across every insurance known to mankind, since cavemen first uttered "what's a deductible?" So us getting 80% back was a conscious lie. When it was time for her follow up they called us multiple times. I called the office to say my mother was healing well and didn't really need the follow up. Why risk exposure to the virus? We were still waiting for some reimbursement because they waited so long to bill our insurance. Mom is on a fixed income and Covid was hurting us financially, they said no you still need to come in and don't worry about the money. Until the day of her follow up appt and then they called to cancel our appointment. Gross huh? The worst part of their deception is that I had admitted to them that money was an issue even before the surgery. And that is never a good feeling. Money and the making of it is fantastic but lying to vulnerable people is horrendous. But hey the office is pretty. read more

dr. Marinon is a lifesaver! I do not live near his office... I live in Ventura County. I could not get into see an oral surgeon in my area for six weeks! I was desperate dealing with necrosis of my jaw! Scary and painful. I went through the review process of finding a local dentist in Encino near my work. I found a dentist in the area that was specializing on necrosis... He referred me to Dr. Maranon. That was a blessing! The office staff got me in immediately the very next day. He reduced my pain so that I could go on my spring vacation. When I returned, he addressed the issue and calmed my brain! I am still continuing to deal with the necrosis, but Dr. Marinon is on it! So grateful, and this stuff is amazing! I highly recommend bringing lovely treats to the staff after their amazing, wonderful, greeting and care just a thought! I also love the fact that he's a UCLA alumni yay or UCLA! Honestly, though he is kind of thoughtful and generous with his emergency time. read more

I have had several procedures done by Dr Maranon and wouldn't trust my mouth to anyone else.

My son has his wisdom teeth removed by Dr. George Maranon. He is the best doctor. In our first meeting he was very professional. He expressed what was best for both of my children so my son last week had his procedure done. I was very impressed with the way they scheduled everything, and how clean and organized they are. The procedure took 1 hour and my son seemed well from the start. We followed exact stated recommendations and by the next day he was almost completely fine (with the exception of some swelling). I could not believe his recovery since I had a very bad experience when young. I highly recommend Dr. Maranon for his magical touch, detailed information, very professional, and mostly for his great surgery skills. My daughter will definitely be having her's removed by him. Don't think you can find someone better. read more

Took both my boys -at different times to have their wisdom teeth removed . Both times we had no problems. They were under general anesthesia and everything went smooth. They give us this head wrap that has 2 side pockets for ice packs. It's so convenient, you don't need to hold the ice packs . Instructions were given along with medications. Went back for follow up and everything went well. I highly recommend Dr Maranon and his staff. read more

Just got home from a check up appointment with Dr. Maranon. Last week I had to get a tooth pulled because it was fractured. And it was really scary but the doctor was so great along with his whole staff, especially Amanda who has helped me through all of this. I still have another appointment in a few months to get an implant tooth which is a big procedure as well but I couldn't feel like I was in better hands with any other dental office. The nice ladies in the front are wonderful and caring. I highly recommend this doctor and his staff. They're just terrific! read more

I've honestly never had a better experience seeking treatment for any medical issue at all than I've had here at Dr. Maranon's office. Right from the get go I was treated with immense kindness and compassion and utmost professionalism by every member of the staff, and I knew I'd finally found the right place! Prior to being referred here I'd been dealing with wisdom tooth pain for a long time, and had already paid another office to take out the ones that had been giving me the most trouble, but then they refused to go through with it- I was informed that the extractions would be more complicated than expected due to the proximity of the roots to the nerve, and they wouldn't attempt to remove the teeth because there was too much of a risk of permanent nerve damage to my lip! So long story short, due to my great friends who know great people, I ended up at Dr. Maranon's office. It wasn't until I came here that full proper x-rays were taken, and yet another strange discovery was made that no one had made previously... I had not 4 wisdom teeth, but 6!! With everything finally having been properly diagnosed, I was assured that I was in good hands, and Dr. Maranon personally went over the details of my x-ray with me and demonstrated exactly how he would go about the procedure to treat my unique case. Throughout the whole process I wasn't in the dark about anything at all, financial or otherwise. Now it's been a few days since the surgery took place, no nerve damage was done to my lip, and the pain is totally manageable. I can feel myself healing properly and I can tell this procedure was done flawlessly... now it's just a matter of taking care of myself and following the instructions I was given for optimal recovery! I am so incredibly grateful to have been treated here; Dr. Maranon and his staff are not only true professionals who are the best at what they do, they're also genuinely wonderful people!! read more

I just got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out with Dr. Maranon and it was a great, easy process overall. I had my consultation and he sat with me and answered all of my questions and explained everything thoroughly. Scheduled a date for my procedure and the office gave me a detailed bill with what they expected my insurance to pay and what I would have to cover up front. Was very surprised to see it was only a couple hundred dollars (I have delta dental). Procedure day went super smoothly, they even worked with me to get my prescriptions in advance so I could take them to Kaiser to fill. Follow up was about 10 days later, super quick. I took off a star for 2 reasons. 1- I had emailed the office a question about a difference in treatment from another surgeon I met with, and he never responded. I got the question answered on my own, but he didn't know that. 2- my procedure was Friday morning and I didn't get a call until Sunday night to check how I was doing. He said he meant to call me Friday, but something came up, not sure what happened in the next 48 hours. I had no problems, but feel like he should have checked in sooner. But overall happy and would recommend him. Payment was super easy and when my bill turned out to be less they immediately refunded me the difference. read more

My experience here was top notch! I had a tooth extracted and a dental implant installed. Dr. Maranon spent a great deal of time with me at my consultation (please note: there is a consultation fee which does not get applied to the procedure). He answered all of my questions, and was very personable and humorous... but on surgery day, he was all business, which I appreciate. Each member of the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Surgical procedures can be scary, but I felt very comfortable here. There is a very positive energy throughout the office. The aftercare was equally impressive. When the procedure was done, a staff member walked me and my driver to our car! Dr. Maranon called me personally the evening of the procedure to ask me how I was doing. I highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking oral surgery. read more

Dr. Maranon and his great team were amazing in every way. I'm 50 and I was expecting my wisdom teeth extraction to result in a long recovery and a lot of discomfort. My dentist referred me to Dr. Maranon and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Thank you Dr. Maranon! read more

What an AMAZING experience at Dr Maranon's Office. My consultation was so quick and easy. (DEB YOU'RE THE BEST!) from the beginning Deb made me feel so comfortable, she was funny, genuine and sweet! Was referred here by Dr. Dann my dentist. I had an impacted wisdom tooth that was on top of a nerve and when I had my other 3 taken out years ago the other dentist said to leave it there unless it caused a problem. This was a recommendation not based on any of my current dentist. I woke up one day with my gums inflamed, pain a 10 level and my face swelled up. It was the wisdom tooth that needed to be removed and I was told by a different dentist years ago to leave it there unless it caused problems. Anyways tons of pain, fear and anxiety about the entire situation. Dr. Maranon took great care of me, he was confident he could do that job. He was able to remove the tooth that another said not to because it was very near the nerve. Recovery was easy and pretty painless. Deb took great care of me as well. The entire staff was great and helpful and made the entire process as easy and painless as possible. All I can say is THANK YOU to Dr. Maranon! read more

Dr. Maranon and his staff is amazing!!! I went in for a Consult/ Surgery. I have the worst anxiety when it comes to dentistry and Dr. Maranon has the best bedside manner. Quality oral surgery here. Please pick quality when choosing oral surgery. I've gone to so many consults for wisdom teeth removals, bone graft consults, implant consults... it's been such a nightmare. Here's the thing!!! Dr. Maranon is top notch. Trusted. You're going to get the best care here. After a horrendous encounter at an oral surgeon assigned through insurance I made it a life goal... to never go down that road again. My dentist who my family has known for 20 some years, will tell you... Dr. Maranon is the best oral surgeon in town. He removed a really bad wisdom tooth about 6 years ago for me and it was painless. Stitched properly and healed fast. So now for a bone graft and implant I'm going back here. Don't hesitate. This is the best place for top notch care. He's factual and to the point. I'm so glad that I'm choosing him for my grafting and implants. I finally feel at ease knowing this will be my surgeon for a procedure I've held off for several years. read more

Please do not go here if you value your mouth, your nerves and your oral health at all. I went to Dr. Maranon after being recommended to him by my general dentist for a bone graph, in order to get an implant post put in later on. He recommended that I be put under with general anesthesia. After the surgery, I was given an appointment for several months down the road to proceed with putting the posts in. At that time, I was still feeling numbness and did not want to proceed. He said to give it more time. Over two years have gone by and the numbness is only getting worse. I later found out from my general dentist that I have six pieces of metal in my jaw. It is permanently painful, and I need to have it corrected because it getting worse everyday. It is even difficult to speak at times. He simply does not care about what he does. I would run and not walk out of there. read more

My son has had two surgeries with Dr. Maranon and they were both some of the best medical experiences I have ever had. His staff is knowledgeable, courteous and so kind. We were never rushed, like the frequent factory-like atmosphere you experience in other medical offices. They made both of us feel comfortable and confident that we had made the right choice. Both times, the staff and Dr. Maranon provided a detailed map of the upcoming procedure, so we knew exactly what to expect. There was great communication about post-op care and Dr. Maranon, personally, called in after-hours, that evening to check on my son...not a staff member. These days, it is exceptionally rare to find a busy doctor who still cares so deeply about his patients. For the record, both surgeries were done with such skill that my son experienced virtually no pain during or post-procedure. We are lucky to be in such good hands. If you are looking for great communication, adept skill and amazing customer service, I give Dr. Maranon and his staff my highest recommendation! read more

Dr. Maranon is great! His office staff is so warm and friendly too. I went to have all four of my wisdom teeth extracted a month ago so I was a bit nervous. Dr. Maranon explained everything he would do during our consultation (how he would go about extracting the teeth/ answered all my questions). The procedure was completely painless as I was under general anesthesia, and the recovery after was so quick and super easy. I was so surprised that I barely swelled up even though my bottom two wisdoms were heavily impacted. Dr. Maranon was so helpful and even called after the surgery to check up. He is also available to contact 24/7 which was comforting. Thank you Dr. Maranon & staff for making his such a wonderful/ painless procedure! read more

I took my 17 year old to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed. The consultation was a bit long, but that was because they took x-rays of my son's teeth and they explained the surgical procedures. It was worth the time. Their staff is amazing!! After the surgery, they gave him a head wrap that had 2 side pockets for ice packs. Their instructions after the surgery were very easy to follow along with the medications. I paid the remaining balance of the costs that my insurance was not going to cover at the time of the procedure and 4 months later, it was nice to receive a refund benefit of my insurance. I would highly recommend Dr. Maranon to my friends and family. read more

I went in for an oral surgery back in sept/Oct of 2021. I definitely do not recommend this place whatsoever, there are plenty of oral surgeons that can take better care of their patients without coming off as a pure luxury. Dealing with the staff is simply just a terrible experience. From the moment I inquired my problem, it just seemed that they'll all I was, was a monetary transaction and all they cared about was money, it didn't help in the years of them working there, they seem to be unfamiliar with their processes of working with outside labs that they work with and like to give their customers generic answers of "we don't know, that's separate." Which in reality now that I've been to other offices, they have an idea in which they can share with their customers. Nancy or Janet who works there was unacceptably rude and defensive every time a question was asked of her and on the phone gave such an unprofessional approach to me inquiring about certain questions . They never followed up with me after my procedure, which they said they would, and after calling back they never returned the call. They are very expensive, you can literally take your money elsewhere, where you can find find the quality of what customer service should look like and where they truly care for their patients. In my eyes you are just a transaction to them without the accountability of following up or caring for their patients. Don't be fooled by the pretty office they present... sometimes bc it's pretty doesn't mean you get the most humbling business. They come off pretentious, but they're pretty deceitful! read more

Dr. Maranon was recommended by my daughter's orthodontist for the extractions she needed before starting braces. I was very pleased with the quality of care and service of Dr. Maranon and his staff. He put my daughter at ease during the pre-op consultation. On the day of the surgery we were given periodic updates on how she was doing while waiting in the waiting room. Once she was done we were given detailed instructions on her care for the next few days. We were walked down to the car by one of the nurses who waited until my daughter was safely in the car. When I had a concern about her level of pain and called the office later that day, Dr. Maranon got on the phone to discuss my concerns and give advice. Finally to my surprise I received a refund from Dr. Maranon's office today since my insurance covered more than expected. Great service, highly recommend. read more

Self absorbed, arrogant doctor who clearly does not care about his patients. His assistants are extremely rude and I'm guessing it's because he does not treat them well based on how I heard him talk to them. When I came in I was greeted with a warm front office staff but as soon as we were brought back it seemed like we were an inconvenience. He dismissed my questions as unnecessary. Would NOT recommend even if referred by your dentist, look for someone else! read more

This is the third time we have used Dr. Maranon over the course of about 6 years. This office requires you to pay up front, prior to surgery. That policy is fine. However, this time I have yet to receive reimbursement from our insurance company after more than 2 months because Dr. Maranon's billing office ordered the insurance reimbursement check to go to their office instead of to me directly. Their staff said "it was a mistake." The check finally arrived to their office today (after I followed up repeatedly) and what does she say? "I'll forward the check to the bookkeeper who processes checks twice a month and let you know when it's ready." Well, to hold on to my $1400 for 2 more weeks is unacceptable to me. When I asked for them to process the overpayment refund faster, she said "...I cannot promise you anything at this time" I find it terrible that their office has not apologized once for this and is not considering the client's position at all. Worst of all, I believe this same thing happened the first time we saw him. I don't have those records any longer or I would check. Dr. Maranon is a good surgeon, and we liked him. But we are left with the distinct feeling of greed. read more

Dr. Maranon, you're the MAN!! you're the MAN!! OK, that's what my teenage son kept saying as he was coming out of the loopy juice after having his wisdom teeth out, but I gotta agree. My only child getting his wisdom teeth out was a nervous-making event for both of us - me because I had such a terrible experience back in the day (complete with a midlnight emergency run to the surgeon's office because my post surgical mouth was an Old Faithful of blood) and him because he'd never had surgery. Dr. Maranon's office is lovely, soothing and to at least the untrained eye, looks state of the art. Every interaction with the office staff, from the cheery young lady behind the desk, to the nurse who took my call the night before with lots of anxious questions, to the nurse who did our post-op interview was a total pleasure. Warm, friendly, down to earth. Dr. Maranon immediately put us at ease during our pre-op appointment and exuded an air of "I got this" even after looking at the records of my son's wonky impacted teeth. Three different teeth impacted three different ways, apparently, just our luck. The day of the appointment, my son tells me the nurses were very kind to him as he was being prepped for surgery, distracting him successfully from what was happening. They gave us extremely thorough pre-and-post Op written instructions, and then went over the post-op instructions with me to make sure I understood everything that needed to be done. Man, has this process improved since the 80's, I'm just sayin'. We followed Dr. Maranon's instructions to the absolute letter, and my son's recovery was stellar. No bleeding, minimal pain and a "looks great" post-op checkup. What a relief!! read more

I took my teenage son to have his wisdom teeth extracted. My son is quite intelligent and asked many questions about the procedure, possible complications, care, etc. Maybe he was in a rush, but the doctor basically said my son asks too many questions and told him to stop. I also found the doctor to have a very arrogant attitude with me also. After the procedure, my son was in pain and let the assistants know. The assistants said he was a complainer and told him to stop complaining. My son continued to have pain over the next few days. Turns out he had some type of retained material in his gums and it became infected. We went to a different oral surgeon to fix it. Not only are the doctor and his assistants rude, they don't care about their patients and did a poor job. I would recommend looking for another oral surgeon. read more

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Dr. Maranon and this office. I have always absolutely HATED going to the dentist it was a huge fear of mine, and I postponed getting my wisdom teeth out for a long time because of it. I should not have waited! Gloria remembered me every time I came in and was always so sweet and Deb even gave me a blanket during surgery! (Sorry I tried to steal it ) After my surgery when I was still loopy on the car ride home I kept going on and on about how kind deb and the whole office was to me, I even cried a little happy tear lol! Dr Maranon is extremely knowledgeable and very funny, he made me feel so comfortable and I knew I was in good hands.
