Two weeks ago I saw my regular dentist and he said that one of the teeth that to be extracted is now infected and I need to get it extracted immediately and then he referred me to West Valley oral surgery. I was doing a search, and I was very impressed and found them on my own. I just had the surgery this morning. I will try to refrain from leaving a very long review because there are just too many wonderful things to say about both Dr. Pedram and his staff.During the initial evaluation just one week ago he explained that It was a fairly simple that that he could do it with a local anesthetic. I was very skeptical. I have a strong reaction to anesthetics that contain epinephrine like Novacaine so he agreed to use Carbocaine, even though it doesn't last as long . he did a very thorough assessment of my medical issues and ansered all my questions at the consultation . today was the surgery, I could not believe how easy this was. I never did need an anesthesiologist. He extracted two teeth and even injected a bone graft to expedite the healing of the bone during the extraction. There was a little problem with an abscess that made it take a little longer than he had anticipated, but he was able to remove It with almost no pain. The banter between him and his nurse. Cindy was very distracting and entertaining while I was getting my teeth extracted. his entire staff is so well organized I was provided a sheet of instructions as to what to do and what to eat Dr. Pedram even asked me if I had any pain medication at home which most doctors do not ask you these days ,they tell you it'll hurt a little and take a Tylenol. I am absolutely thrilled with this experience. I would recommend hI'm and his office over anyone else.

Extremely disappointing and unacceptable billing practices…read more At our initial consultation in August, we were explicitly told that our insurance would cover a wisdom teeth extraction. However, on the day of the procedure, we were suddenly told we had to pay out of pocket. We immediately provided proof that our insurance company had made an error and that the procedure should have been covered. Rather than waiting for the office to re-submit authorization (which we were told could take time), we paid upfront so treatment would not be delayed. At that time, we were clearly told we would be reimbursed within a week or so. It has now been over six months. Despite more than 10 phone calls to the office, there has been no reimbursement and no urgency. We are now being told that both our dental and medical insurance paid the office, yet they continue to hold our money while waiting to see if one of the insurance companies requests a refund. During this entire process, Christina and Judy in the office have been shockingly nonchalant. The attitude we repeatedly received was essentially "this isn't our problem," despite the fact that we are out of pocket for a procedure that insurance already paid for. Holding a patient's money for half a year, after being paid by insurance, with no resolution or accountability, is unacceptable. This office is in a healthcare and service business, yet has shown zero care, urgency, or professionalism. I am sharing this experience so others are aware. If you value transparency, ethical billing, and being treated with basic respect, do not go to this office.

They were very open to my distress and had a conversation with said doctor. I had the appoitment for an extraction for a full month in advance and spent that time being very stressed out about pain, discomfort and having to buy a special soft diet. The doctor was then kind to me and assuring and the extraction was actually very easy; the recovery though was difficult. They did provide gauze but it was minimal and I went through 80 gauze pads with bleeding (I'm on blood thinners they were not worried about and perhaps that contributed). Having said that, I had no residual pain, no bruising or swelling. It all worked out in the end. The office staff was very accomodating. I would recommend this center.

Dr. Jamsheed and all the other dentists under him (including Dr. Safende) should be ASHAMED of themselves as medical providers and take a look in the mirror and reflect why their ethics gone down the drain in place of money. My experience: My teeth have generally been quite healthy over my life, I came in for their $79 cleaning special and wasn't sure what to expect. Got my X-rays done (the dental assistant was great!) and then I waited for the dentist. Dr. Safende comes and says I have no cavities, however I need: 1.) A deep cleaning 2.) To fix my overbite with a retainer/invisalign 3.) Bottom wisdom teeth removed. He doesn't ask me if I've ever had issues with my jaw, pressure or anything. Just immediately straight to the sales pitch of things no other dentist has ever told me that I needed. Total estimated cost $12,000+. During my visit I was introduced to 6 employees, (4 of which were there to sell me, baffling) Basically high pressure sales tactics done poorly. Yeah sure I "need" all of those things. Good thing I have dentists in the family who provided a second opinion and negate all the things that I "needed" to get done. The complete lack of ethics, the sales and marketing pushes to over treat are unfortunately common in modern dentistry. I feel awful that the other patients here are getting scammed and they are so unaware. It is very hard to find a trustworthy dentist, and trust me you will NOT find one here.
