I am a terrified dental patient. I went to my dental implant Dentist with a toothache that seemed to come and go. He did a CT scan of the area of pain and said to go for a root canal with Dr. Kamrava. I have had many root canals and was terrified. I scheduled the appointment and arrived at his office scared and anxious. His receptionist was warm and welcoming. Dr. Kamrava was amazing. He explained each step of the procedure as he went along. He was very careful. He didn't rush, but took time needed to save the tooth. His kindness and expertise put me at ease. His practice has the most advanced equipment and methods of treatment. My regular dentist sent me to Dr Kamrava yesterday for a root canal. I have had excellent luck with my teeth my whole life and I was not looking forward to my first root canal. One of the absolute worst forms of pain is dental pain. You can only endure it for so long before it has to be treated. And in that spectrum, just the mention of a root canal is cause for wincing and horrific imagery for anyone who has ever experienced and endured the procedure. Since my last one several decades ago the technology has improved and what was once a two day, multi hour grinder of a visit has vastly improved. Leading the way, as one of the only practices using Gentlewave to improve the cleaning as well as healing, Dr. Kamrava is a skilled professional. I knew I was in good hands when, while working on me, he was softly singing along to country music on his Spotify playlist. Make no mistake, this is an expensive procedure these days especially since dental insurance is more scarce than ever before. There is a financial service called Care Credit they accept but be forewarned, you are only allotted a half year window to pay it all off before the interest comes a knocking-and it is steep. But it does buy you some time in an emergency. I wouldn't wish this on anyone but if it does befall you, the is state of the art care. Highly recommended. read more

Had a root canal 30+ years ago, worst pain I have ever experienced. Same pain in same tooth came back during the weekend, growing in intensity until it was almost unbearable - zombie infection! My dentist reached out to Dr. Kamrava on a Sunday, he was playing golf but took a break to call me, provided pain management, and squeezed me in the next morning. He explained everything well, laid out my options, was caring, and is highly skilled. His front office and assistants were also very nice and caring. Addressing some negative reviews, endodontists like Dr. Kamrava are highly trained and skilled and have a lot of overhead (office, machinery, staff) so they aren't cheap, but he is worth every penny. read more

So I have a huge dentist phobia thanks to horrible past experiences, I found out I needed a root canal and decided on Dr. Kamrava because I had had another root canal done by him abt 15 yrs ago! Somehow my fears and pain tolerance has become less than what it used to be, even tho I remember last time I had a great experience w the root canal done by him I still was nervous! I had my root canal yesterday, I ddnt even feel the numbing injection, he was so gentle and kept telling me he was administering the numbing med very slowly so i wouldn't have any pain! I was on the chair over an hour and the entire time he explained every step and what i was to expect! Honestly at one point i almost fell sleep lol After it was done he told me i may feel throbbing for couple of days to just take Tylenol! My mouth was sore but mostly my jaw as if i had been talking for days lol everyone i talked to and told them I had had root canal all would cringe yet be so surprised whn I would tell them how I felt no pain the entire time! Today I woke up w no pain at all! He even removed some tissue to get to the cavity to clean it out yet i have no soreness any wher in my mouth, teeth nor gums! I am very happy with Dr. Kamrava. I went to him for a second opinion after another endodontist wanted to do a root canal on one of my lower molars. Surprisingly, within 5 minutes of examing me, Dr. Kamrava discovered that the problem was not in that tooth but the cracked one directly above it. The pain at the lower molar was "referred pain" from the upper one. He went ahead and did a root canal on the upper and the pain vanished. Had I stuck with the first person's advice I would have had a useless root canal done on the lower tooth which would then have necessitated a second one on the top. Dr Kamarava is awesome. He has previously cleaned out all of my old root canals with his gentle wave process and removed all of the metal posts out of my mouth. And he will be doing a new root canal for me on Monday. He also told me a process to do to try and save another tooth from a possible root canal. I have been doing this all week and it seems to be working, and I'm so happy as I would rather not have to get another root canal. He does a great job and has an excellent bedside manner so to speak. Did I even get a root canal?? It's been nearly a week since my procedure and I have not felt any pain or discomfort in that tooth since the procedure. (I actually went out to a party a few hours after getting my tooth drilled ha!). The doctor was considerate and explained everything he was doing as he was doing it. Wow. I cannot thank Dr Kamrava and his incredible team (which they were short staffed) and still had a 5 star experience bc basically I came in as an emergency situation. On tues after new year, I called needing to be seen asap due to some pain on a loose and cracked silver filling. Jill asked if I could come in that day at 11:30 which I agreed to but had work at 1:30 so I called a few other offices in case I could be seen sooner in case I found another dr that could. Turns out another dr in the same building as him could see me at 10 so I called them back and told them why I had to go to the other office. They were very kind and understanding about it. So I go to the other dr. She ends up treating me the next day for the tooth where the filling is cracked, causing me shooting jaw pain and major throbbing. She's also a holistic dentist so I was happy to work with her. She took the old filling out and patched me up with the new. Well after the numbness went away, the throbbing pain was back. She immediately told me to go back to Dr Kamrava the next day to see if he could help and determine if I needed a root canal... I called Dr Kamrava's office again and spoke to Jill again who was who I spoke with on Tues and this is Thurs now, the day after my dental work from the day before. I'm explaining to Jill what happened and how I'm in so much pain and she again offers for me to come to the office ASAP. I'm thrilled, I hop in my car and they get me in the chair, determine I need a gentle wave root canal, which btw is a way more holistic procedure of healing and he looks at his schedule that day and sees that his schedule is a bit full but asked me to wait a bit so he could fit me in! I'm beyond grateful for their willingness to accommodate for me and the pain I was enduring. Only to be received kindly, professionally and swiftly! I'm seriously so happy considering how awful I felt and how much I had to spend from TWO back to back procedures but you know what? It was worth it. I felt very taken cared of and most importantly I'm out of pain. My teeth are healing and to add that cherry on top- I got a follow up call from them yesterday. The day after my procedure to check up on me and see how I was feeling. I mean seriously... these angels are my heroes and I'm so glad I found them =D Thank you Dr Kamrava. I had to have a root canal after experiencing pain in a tooth for almost 3 weeks after having a temporary crown put on. The doctor fit me into his schedule that week but the pain got so bad, so quickly that I had to call after hours. To my surprise, Dr. Kamrava called back within 30 minutes and fit me into his schedule the next day. I was also terrified about getting a root canal but he and his team made the process completely painless. After the procedure, which only took an hour, the pain in my tooth is gone and I feel like a normal person again. I am a baby at the dentist, I don't like or trust them in general. I had a previously filled cavity be pushed out and a temp crown placed by my regular dentist who suggested getting a consult on a root canal before placing the final crown. Dr Kamrava's office from the start was very caring and kind with me. I had hardly any symptoms. Dr. Kamrava came in and tested the tooth in a number of ways and gave a "sigh." He explained to me that because the cavity had gotten so deep after a filling fell out (... this is why I dont like my other dentist...), I was at risk of a possible abscess tooth and eventually losing it. He said if I could bare the minimal pain that it was my choice and my risk to take but his suggestion was to root canal it. The biggest advantage to doing the root canal sooner than later was not having to drill through the permanent crown. Not going to lie, I started to cry a bit out of frustration with the situation and the cost. The staff gave me a second to look at my options and said if I needed to come back that was totally fine, or he could operate immediately. I proceeded with the procedure and Dr. K talked me through the whole thing, something I find other dentists don't do... I really appreciated him talking to me as a HUMAN and a patient who has NO understanding of dentistry. He didn't really sugarcoat or pressure me on the situation but felt very genuine about the whole thing. My only complaint, as in a couple other reviews is they didn't have my records or x-rays from a week prior from my dentist. But I can place equal blame on my dentist not sending those over proactively or making sure they got them. read more

Root canals are not fun! With Dr Kamrava and his team I felt like a Grand Prix race car in the pits. He and his crew were highly trained, responsive and efficient. The whole process was relatively painless and with constant feedback I knew exactly what was happening. I had a very complicated case with an infection in my bone and a botched root canal by another dentist many years ago that reared its ugly head now. I was in severe pain. Dr. Kamrava and his team spent over two hours desperately trying to get to the nerve and save my existing crown and "thinking outside of the box" to do so. He did a phenomenal job and successfully got to the infection, disinfected it and completed the root canal, and saved my crown There was so much work involved but he did it exceptionally well. If you need a root canal or if you have a very complex case, Dr. Kamrava is the only endodontist to see. Five stars are not enough!!! read more

Referred by Dr. Rosenthal. You don't always have to go with the Endodotist your dentist refers you to. Normally they have two or three to refer. This was by far the worst experience ever. From the front office staff who checked me in, an African American guy who was a bully and made threats if I didn't pay up front they wouldn't follow through with appointment, to his unprofessional attitude. Just so you are all aware, it is illegal for any office to force you to pay up front unless you are a cash patient. Get a price in writing before proceeding with the appointment. They have to bill the insurance and wait for payment to go through, then bill you. He tried to extort money from me explaining the fee up front (thousand of dollars) was necessary and a part of my co-pay or the insurance adjustable rate which is untrue. If your insurance is contracted with this endodontist, they can only, by law, charge you the contracted rate not one cent more after they receive payment from the insurance company-not before. The reason I want to get the word out- they did this to my husband who knows nothing about insurance and contracted rates. When I called and spoke with the front office guy, he told me he wouldn't refund any of the money they made my husband pay. I filed a dispute with the credit card company and then I called the insurance company and filled a formal complaint and a grievance. The insurance company contacted the office on a three way call explaining the money he collected from my husband needed to be refunded right away or Dental Dental was going to make sure to discontinue the contract they had with this endodontist. He eventually refunded it. I went into the office for a root canal and he tried to do the same thing to me. He threatened the appointment would be cancelled if I didn't pay an exorbitant amount of money up front. I called the insurance company, they called the office. I filed another formal complaint and a grievance. He was forced to comply and not charge anything-my insurance company was contracted and they have a set contracted rate. I didn't pay anything until the endotontist received payment from the insurance company.They cannot charge any more than that contracted rate. The root canal was done. I left with a tooth ground down more that it was at the dentist office after the fitting for the crown which made me have to buy a new crown. But I also left with a tooth that is cracked. The front office guy got even more rude and loud. Dr. Kamrava allows his staff to treat people this way. In fact, I heard the Dr. after the front office guy yelled at me on the phone tell him to hang the phone up after using some not so nice words at me. There are so many great Endo's in the area-choose another. This guy is a total egotistical jerk who thinks his business wont be effected by a review like this. RUN! read more

I had pain in upper left molar with a crown and he went into the crown and cleaned it out using Gentle Wave. I didn't feel anything I was nervous and glad it's finally over with.
