Such a cute place have a cup of tea, play some games, and shop for cute Knick knacks. . The staff is beyond friendly! Very helpful with questions about the tea and interacts in casual conversation. They even provide free face masks and hand sanitizer. The Ginger Tea is incredibly warming on a cold winter day. Not sweet at all with the perfect amount of ginger! You get the warmth from the hot tea followed by a nice warm kick from the ginger. Love it! I can't wait to go back just for this. Located smack in the middle of Main Street it's hard to find parking but the perfect location to pop in if you're wandering Main Street. Or if this place is your destination you're luck because you're surrounded by tons of local shops to browse for the rest of your morning/afternoon. Inside the store is really quaint and cozy but well lit so you can see what you're shopping. The shelves are organized very well by product. There's games, puzzles, greeting cards, jewelry, tea sets, and much more! Past the games is the counter to order tea. Tons of seating spots, even kiddie seats and tables. The window display has this beautiful winter Christmas scene to add a sprinkle of festiveness to the place! If I wasn't recommended to this place by someone I would've missed it, it's hard to tell from the outside all the things it has to offer. read more

Excellent cute family-owned shop with a range of puzzles, board games, toys, washi tape, and playful knicknacks! They offer Boba tea and asian tea offerings with a cute place to sit. If you want obscure asian stuffed animals, a challenging high-end Ravensburger puzzle, handmade cards, this store has loads of inventory and chock-full of small gifts for all ages. There are children's books and hilariously wonderful animal figurines. Definitely affordable and worth a visit. Would highly recommend checking out Genus Boni! High quality, fun, and unique. Won't find these kind of items in Target or Walmart. My friends and I have spent a long time browsing their one of a kind games, wonderful trinkets, and cute puzzles. Little ones seem to like playing with the cute kids table with toys. I've bought books for infants to a gift for my yuppie friend to crafts for my older aunt here. You can find a gift here for anyone! Relaxing environment. The store owners are very kind and helpful. I've bought a pot of tea served in a gorgeous pot and cups, which was more than enough for my boyfriend and me. It comes with delicious little tea cookies. Their tea is high quality, they'll give you a sample when you come in. Such a hidden gem and I really hope they stick around. My children and I have come to this store two times and we've had about the same experience each visit with some pros and cons. First of all, their selection is a wonderfully diverse and eclectic collection of specialized and hard-to-find puzzles, games and toys. Some products seem unique to this store. Superb taste on the owners' part! Pricing is not great but still, fair. There are also lovely teas in the back, along with some beautiful Asian knick-knacks. Indeed, it is a pretty store. The key issue I have with this place? The service. Service is definitely where improvements can be made. One person (the mother?) tries to be helpful but doesn't know product. She comes off as overly friendly, and even, almost hovers . In the meanwhile, the other person(the owner? son?) is completely disinterested in what's going on around him. He doesn't care about the customer's experience. He doesn't care to speak. He doesn't care to help. Funny, I don't think I even heard one word uttered from him in these two visits. He doesn't even greet his customers. Between the two of them, shopping there is a bizarre and unpleasant situation. In summary, fantastic inventory. The shop is exceptionally well-curated, with a focus on toys, games and puzzles for children. If you EVER need to buy anything for a child, come here immediately. This shop has a wonderful, imagination-stirring collection of perfect gifts catering to all sorts of interest (science, art, math, history, building, puzzle-making, drawing and so on and so on). Besides the children's gifts, they sell a fine assortment of delicious loose teas and tea accouterments that would make an elegant addition to anyone's tea-drinking habit. They also have a variety of other beautiful items, such as stationary, greeting cards, music boxes, Taiwanese curios, homemade purses and bags, etc. etc. Besides all this there is a quiet, cute corner with tables and chairs where you can read or study and drink a nice cup of tea. Walked by this store last weekend and curious about the various things displayed. Walk in and feel so relaxing there. The owner Anderson from Taiwan gave us some genuine Taiwanese oolong tea. It's a great place to sit down, read books, and get some high quality toys/games. There are some children's books and toys there. A good place to sipping tea and let the kids read and play. I am picky about tea and the tea there is good quality. Strongly recommend. Kids friendly environment. read more

What a wonderful store!! I came in to get some nice tea for a holiday present, and left with other delightful presents as well! They were happy to talk to me about the tea--I don't know much what I'm doing--and generally wonderfully friendly. They have a delightful selection of small gifts and whatnot, a little hard to describe but they aren't just tacky souvenirs. I can't speak to the games but they certainly had a big selection! place was interesting and tea was good, however smelled a little weird and it took some adjusting to. hard to tell what games were for sale and what were available to play as the organization and setup of the store is a little all over the place. the quality of the tea was great tho, don't know if i would recommend as a place to sit down however. read more

I can not say enough about this wonderful store in downtown Metuchen. It's a difficult place to describe because it's not just another "toy store". It's a place that welcomes you with complimentary tea while you browse the amazing assortment of products which includes toys, games, models, books, and other offerings. There are tables and chairs for children and adults alike to try out the various items set up for your pleasure and exploration. The thought, organization and attention to detail these owners have put into their business is amazing. We went again yesterday with our 16 month old granddaughter and spent at least 45 minutes while she sat at the brightly colored table and chairs and played. She tried out several toys that held her attention and frankly she didn't want to leave. The owner gave her a little car to take home and explained that they offer books which can be taken home and returned in a month. I hope families in Metuchen find this little gem because it's a lovely addition to our community. read more
