He trimmed my eyebrows with three sweeps of his clippers on each side in a time totaling less than 30 seconds. I go to pay and he slaps me with a $15 surcharge for trimming my eyebrows. The haircut cost $25. A 60% surcharge without warning is unprofessional, disingenuous and unacceptable.

At the urging of a friend, I am putting my review back up…read more It was 9am, Friday, May 31. I specifically asked for a fade, starting with a #1, then to #1.5, then #5 on top. I memorized those numbers long ago and always tell every barber the exact same thing because that's the cut that I like. ALL of my hair was buzzed off with the #1 blade, which is stubble length, which of course made me look bald. It took about 5 minutes. I didn't say anything because the shop was full and I didn't want to make a scene; after all, it's impossible to correct after all your hair is buzzed off. I was really shocked. I paid $30, $23 for the cut and $7 for a tip. That's how dumb I am. Today is July 7. I wore a cap for a couple of weeks until my hair grew back enough so I didn't look so bald. Mistakes happen -- the barbershop where I go now said that everyone has a bad haircut story -- but to reduce the risk, and no matter which shop or barber you use, make SURE to repeat several times exactly what you want until you are sure it's understood.
