Chatting with a friend on day, I noticed his beard was immaculately trimmed. Not a single hair out of place. What sorcery had taken place to come to this level of perfection!? He told me went to Illustrated Barber and saw Benny. I was in the market for a good barber and took him up on his recommendation. Forgot the generic $15 cuts done by someone who just picked up their first pair of scissors. Don't let them experiment with your head and give you a different cut every time. There's a world of difference between a rookie an experienced barber. Benny was great. He gave me new recommendations, worked quickly yet carefully, and I left there feeling like a million bucks. He's become my regular barber and have recommended his services to a few friends. The whole shop provides the same level of quality. It's located on North lime stone, in the up and coming area. So I have to say....I have searched far and wide for a place to get my beard cut/trimmed. I could really give a rats ass about the hair on top of my head but the beard....Well, to me its sacred. After getting many botched jobs and tons of bad hair cuts, I ran into this place. Thank GOD for Austin. He is a miracle worker. Not only did he make me feel right at home as soon as I set foot in the door, he gave me the best hair cut and knew exactly how I wanted my beard to look without having to say a word. Austin has a great gift. The atmosphere is light and fun. They have a pool table and dart board for play if you get bored or just want to hang out. He and his partners in crime there never have a dull moment. They also include all their clientele in their conversations/banter. It was very inviting. The place is super clean and easy to find. Depending on the time of day you may have to park a bit before or after and walk down, but it is so worth it. These guys do legit work. You make appointments on line for Austin or his buddy does the walk-ins from what I understand. I always make appointments. Once you make appointment online, you will get a text to confirm your appointment time and a text again day before to remind you. It is great. They make it so easy to stay looking sharp. I've not shaved in a couple of days and thought I'd get a shave and Haircut. Went to Illustrated Barber as a walk-in. I know you take what you can get with that. I was told I had one person ahead of me and it would be an hour. No problem... But apparently at this place you can leave for an hour and come back to your place in line. After waiting for over an hour, someone who walked in about 10 minutes before this guy got finished and when the barber finished was welcomed to the chair and sat down. That did it. An hour wasted. By far the coolest barber shop in town. Ive known Austin since we were kids and to see what hes has accomplished is awesome. From the pool table to the fridge of goodies, this isnt your dads barber shop but it could be yours. Skateboards, tattoos and off colors jokes are standard and make life better. I can honestly say I'm not disappointed in this place in particular but with Ben. I've only been coming here for about 9 months but during that time I was always told that Austin takes appointments and Ben handles the walk-in's. I arrived today to get a cut and someone was in the chair so I just chilled on the bench. Ben then told me that he had appointments and probably couldn't get me in until around 3:30. Okay, no big deal. Ben said that he would call the guy that had an appointment and he would let me know if he was coming or not. He called someone, I assume the client but after hanging up the phone he plugged his phone back in to listen to music and said nothing. I waited for around 10 more minutes and just got up and left. I always left a $5 tip on a $20 cut and I felt that he was very unprofessional today and I will not be back read more

We weren't even going to the barbershop, but were walking past to the restaurant next door and he went out of his way to threaten and curse at us.
