I know my dog and if you don't have a treat he won't listen to a thing you say! But it worked! We went through the basic training class and then the off lead training. Our dog is easily excitable and wants nothing more than to play with the other dogs, so keeping his attention was difficult. But over the time we were there our dog learned to listen and obey and have fun while doing it. I would say our dog is one of the more difficult cases and he made amazing progress! About a week before we started taking our dog here, I was mentioning Cedarwoods to a coworker. There was someone working on the electrical just there for the day, he heard me talking and said he took his dog there and loved it! And that's the feedback I get from everyone who's gone to Cedarwoods. I highly recommend Cedarwoods! Every dog can benefit from the training! It's worth every penny.

This turned out to be a real challenge. My dog is super high-energy and was marked as having behavioral issues, so I started with just short 3 hour stays at doggie daycare. Even at that I was told he gets too grumpy with other dogs and expressed separation anxiety. We worked with a trainer and a behavioralist but still had issues at daycare. It was getting to the point where I didn't think I would be able to leave him, but then I found PNWK. My dog, Nikan, absolutely loves it there. They have huge outdoor runs and all of the staff are very knowledgeable about dog behavior and care. Can't count the number of times I have used their services and boarding, both short- & long-term. And... with no issues! It warms my heart to hear reports such as, "we can put him with any dog, he just loves to play". PNWK is my only choice for doggy daycare and boarding, even though they are an hour drive from home.

The sleeping area is quite small, it barely fits a large bed from Costco and the run is also quite short. They do take them out supposedly 2-3 times a day and let them run around in an enclosed yard. But I have a feeling that besides feedings, the walk out to the yard is the only time they are interacting with the staff although I can't say that for sure. I left things for my dogs to chew on to lessen the stress a little but they were never given to them. I sent extra wet food along with their dry food to ensure they would eat but since they hadn't eaten what was put into their bowls previously the staff decided not to keep adding food into the bowls. One of my dogs was starving when he got home and ate double what he normally does. I feel because this is a place to board your dogs that they should be given extra attention in order to make sure they are fed, exercised and comfortable, this clearly did not happen at this kennel. My dogs are very quiet and rarely bark. When I picked them up they were very anxious and stressed. The owner did call me back even though I left a message saying I was very unhappy. He apologized saying that giving the dogs the chew toys had slipped his mind. I don' t feel that this is a good excuse given that this is their job. If you want to save a few dollars and don't care how your dogs are doing while you are away then take them to this kennel, if you do then stay away and pay a little more for your peace of mind and your dogs well being.

My wife and I decided that we just weren't ready to buy. 3 months later my wife and I decided that we were ready to buy so I emailed Dee once again. Once again she replied quickly and sent over pictures of the available litter. This was a litter of Shihpoo's which we just fell in love with. I set up a time to look at the litter and drove 3 hours to meet. Dee was very friendly and informative. We picked out a puppy and put down a deposit. 4 weeks later the puppy was ready to come home. We made another appt. to pick up the puppy. Dee had everything ready and the puppy was looking awesome! She included all the paperwork, gift bag, toy, food, blanket from the litter, ect. It was critical to find a kennel that was a good fit for him. We had been using another boarding facility for the past ten years and had been pretty happy with them for most of that time. Due to a detour, I happened to drive by FurrWoods and saw their sign. So, we scheduled a time to take a tour. Oscar was reactive to the owner and staff and was barking and lunging at them. They knew exactly how to greet him and put him at ease. Within minutes, he was comfortable and leaning in for ear scratches. We took Oscar out to the play yards and put him in one by himself. He immediately went to the fence and happily greeted the other pups in the adjacent yard. The play yards here are repurposed astroturf from a football field, and the surface is immaculate. The previous boarding facility has gravel yards and our previous dog would sometimes eat rocks there or be dirty from digging. There are 3 or 4 different yards so they can group dogs by size or demeanor or age to ensure everyone has a positive playtime. The kennels are also very clean! There are only 28 kennels so it is much more peaceful than at a larger facility. They provide trampoline beds and even have slow feeders if you need them, which Oscar does. They have an online reservation system which helps me keep track of my bookings. You can also sign your dog up for an activity such as individual fetch time or a walk in the woods. We have boarded Oscar at FurrWoods several times over the past few months - sometimes just overnight and for as long as two weeks. He LOVES it there!! When we arrive, he pulls me to the door and wants to go straight out to play! This speaks volumes, as Oscar normally has separation anxiety!! When I pick him up, he is clean, happy, and exhausted. They were super barky, they would pull us when they were leashed, lunge at every and any dog that crossed our path. We are not even talking dog parks here :( we learned that as dog-parents, we pretty much sucked. We continued to walk these guys weekly and it was a super-stressful experience. Our walks that we used to enjoy were becoming shorter because our dogs just weren't very polite and were it seemed afraid of more and more things..when one would have an issue, it would impact the other. We love our dogs so we started asking around about trainers. We learned that there are great trainers around but the first of which we met did not accept "barky" dogs and our dogs are :( Luckily, we were introduced to Dani. We signed up for Basic Boss for the two boys. The dogs loved Dani and her family! Good thing as Basic Boss is two weeks of boarding. We missed them but in two weeks, our dogs had learned a lot! Mind you, they were far from perfect at that point (unless Dani was handling them). We continued to work with them using Dani's techniques and we are now at a point where we will be out in public walking them and they will get compliments on their manners from complete strangers. This has truly been life changing for them and us as we are able to go places with other dogs and even interact with other dogs and people! Dani makes it so easy and they learned to not fear and actually enjoy socializing with other dogs now. It has been about a year since their initial training but they have been back to board and Dani snuck some training in then as well. She has a puppy program called "Baby Boss" and I believe she does some day and play as well. Word has gotten out so she books up so definitely plan ahead! Your dog will have a blast and thank you and you will no longer feel guilty. Thanks Dani for changing our lives!! We are now able to have so much more fun with our dogs!!!
