This turned out to be a real challenge. My dog is super high-energy and was marked as having behavioral issues, so I started with just short 3 hour stays at doggie daycare. Even at that I was told he gets too grumpy with other dogs and expressed separation anxiety. We worked with a trainer and a behavioralist but still had issues at daycare. It was getting to the point where I didn't think I would be able to leave him, but then I found PNWK. My dog, Nikan, absolutely loves it there. They have huge outdoor runs and all of the staff are very knowledgeable about dog behavior and care. Can't count the number of times I have used their services and boarding, both short- & long-term. And... with no issues! It warms my heart to hear reports such as, "we can put him with any dog, he just loves to play". PNWK is my only choice for doggy daycare and boarding, even though they are an hour drive from home.

I come from the dog world and used to groom and work in kennels, so I knew what I did and did not want when boarding my dogs. I was absolutely blown away by how smart the staff are and how well they handle the different dogs that come in. I feel so comfortable leaving my dogs with them because I know they will always take care of them. Apart from how much I love Pacific Northwest Kennels, is how much my dogs love it! They go crazy in the car when we're getting close and sprint in the door excited to see everyone. Was so happy to have found this place because my dogs don't do that with anywhere else. They absolutely love it here!

I tried to register my dog for agility beginners classes and I am bring ignored…read more I sent my application via website and followed up with a phone call due to lack of any response a few days later On the phone I basically provided the same info as online and was promised a call or email to accept or decline the application I am not sure if it is me they object to or the dog but they ignore me still a week after submitting the application I am looking for some other place now, but I would have expected the minimal courtesy of a call or email Guess these people don't need your business, my advice, don't even bother approaching them

Darling dogs has been an excellent boarding place for my dog. Having used two other places in the…read morearea I can say it's my favourite. I love dealing with Roberta. My job requires me to board my dog sometimes with little notice and Roberta is always quick to respond if there's availability. My dog recently did the K9 boot camp and she has come home a different dog. She was once high energy, jumped up on everyone and never listened. We were really frustrated with her. She now knows all her basic commands sit, stay, come, heel etc but best of all she seems so much calmer and content. We are so grateful to Roberta.

I sent my 2 small dogs to Darling Dogs for 17 days while I was on a family vacation. When I picked…read morethem up, it was very obvious my dog Sophie had lost enough weight that her ribs and backbone were clearly protruding. Once I got home, I tried to feed her and she wouldn't eat, seemed depressed, and was clearly not herself. Although she looked emaciated, her belly was extremely distended. Both dogs were drinking water excessively. At this point, I was very worried about Sophie and took her to the vet who was quite concerned over her body condition and weight loss, dehydration and bloated stomach. She was put on an IV for 2 hours to rehydrate and had to go through sedation. Worried that Sophie may have a blockage, my vet did x-rays which showed her stomach was expanded three times the normal size and was full of food. It's a mystery how she could be emaciated yet somehow, she had gorged herself with food... The owner of Darling Dogs said she had no idea what happened, but said it's possible that Sophie got into another dog's food. The only other explanation that I can think of is that, once they went to get Sophie ready for me to pick her up, they finally noticed how skinny she was and overfed her in hopes it would be less noticeable. Both of these ideas are very upsetting to me. Whatever the case, I can't believe that the staff could have not noticed how much weight she was losing in their care. Obviously, for whatever reason, Sophie was not eating or getting food, and no one noticed what was happening. I contacted the owner at least 3 times while I was gone to see how my dogs were doing, and each time I was told they were doing very well or "amazing." This was obviously not true because I came home to a dog that was emaciated. My veterinarian was almost as upset as I was about the state of Sophie. X-rays, IV, blood work and urine analysis were done, and I was sent home with two kinds of medication and special food. I spent over $800 to make sure she was okay. I explained to the owner about what happened and sent her the x-rays, pictures of Sophie, and a copy of the vet's report and bill. She did not take any responsibility for what happened, never offered to compensate, never apologized, and never even asked how Sophie was doing. Her attitude was "everyone makes mistakes." I understand that mistakes can happen, but there is just absolutely no way that it should be possible for a dog to become visibly emaciated with no one noticing. That's not a mistake - that's negligence. A picture is worth a thousand words and you can be the judge of what happened to Sophie.

Stopped through to check out the facility since I'll be boarding my pets within the next two weeks…read morewhile I'm out of state. There are signs out on the main road advertising pet boarding, grooming and training services. Upon turning down a dirt road there are a second set of signs and an open gate at the entrance of the business. It would be reasonable to assume that the business is open to the public based on the signage and open gate. However, when I pulled up on the property a man came running out to my truck. His body language, demeanor and tone of voice made it clear that I was not welcome. I did not see any animals on the property and when I explained that I was there to inquire about the facility and reservations for boarding, the response was a rude, "Well, what do you want to know?" I explained a second time that I was interested in boarding my dogs and he just stood there. I asked if he did dog boarding and if he had a business card and he went into a shed grabbed a card and handed it to me. Very gruff, unwelcoming and unprofessional. If this is the way they treat customers, how do they treat your pets when you're not around? Won't be taking any chances here, thank you!
