This was the third store that I had visited after my unfortunate contact tear as none of the other stores I visited even cared to bat an eye. Was I pleasantly surprised. The inner store decor is pristine, clean, hip, and showcased a large array of high quality glasses and frames. The service is warm, friendly, and even before I purchased anything, they immediately gave me a free contact sample for comfort. No questions asked. Truly high end service, matched with quality inner design that's both cozy and sophisticated. I'll be certain to visit this place for a new frame upgrade when my eyewear wears off. The best combo of traits I've come across at an eye clinic/storefront combo. This made me feel very comfortable proceeding with an eyeglass purchase. The staff who helped me choose eyeglasses were also extremely helpful and courteous. I can't stress enough how important this is as I'm well aware eyeglasses are a high margin, high reward industry I've always been reluctant to purchase eye-ware at the same storefront. I ended up with two sets of eye-ware that I put to immediate use with a cross canada drive from Ontario to BC. The prescription sunglasses they helped me choose were a perfect fit and a perfect lens. My reading/working glasses were also a great fit and I'm growing very attached to the fit and lens choice.

She did not explained the pros and cons of the frames and make recommendations based on my prescription. Without knowing I was provided with bad advice, I paid $850 for the Gucci glasses and ended up getting a pair of $800 Kate Spade glasses that causes pain to my nose bridge and behind my ears, leaving deep red marks. Submitted a Google review with full honesty that their staff Jennifer suggested me to purchase the Gucci frames. Jennifer then lied about this situation by replying back saying I chose to purchase the frames despite her recommendations. This experience shows that Jennifer does not take accountability for her mistake and put blame on their customers for what happened.

During the meeting with the optometrist Dr Cho who was suspecting glaucoma, my husband made it clear that his ophthalmologist regularly checks glaucoma every year and the result this year showed no signs of glaucoma. Today, my ophthalmologist office called my husband could not see him, because he is clear from glaucoma, which the referral by the optometrist shows the reason for the referral is 'glaucoma'. Dr Cho did not listen and just put his personal assumption in the exam report. I am very disappointed. Also I found out this referral was not sent until yesterday, 4 weeks after our visiting the optometrist. Not matter of disappointment. It amounts to negligence to a person with serious vision issues.

Mr. Chan, the owner, is in his 70s (or so he tells me) and is a hoot. He's very nice and friendly and always cracking jokes to make you laugh. Sam, one of the staff there, is more soft-spoken and serious, but also really nice and patient. He's fine with letting me try on almost every frame in the store before making my choice, lol. They have an excellent selection of frames and very competitive prices. Their craftsmanship is superb. Even after I wasn't living in Toronto anymore, I still went back to Fashion Optical to get my glasses, since my parents still lived in Toronto, I would just get them to pick up my glasses when they were done and I would get them from my parents. However, now that my parents have also left Toronto, I go back less often and my trips are shorter (since I no longer have a free place to stay, lol), and the logistics of buying glasses in Toronto while living in Ottawa is now just too complicated.
