They were patient and helpful when I was trying to decide from their vast selection of fashionable frames. A few days later, I received my stylish Lacoste glasses. Flash forward to late 2017. My prescription changed, so I just wanted to replace the lenses on the same frame and see about getting my first prescription sunglasses. More than 2 years later, I got the same first-class treatment with even more choices than I remembered. Shortly thereafter, I received my new lenses & very handsome Giorgio Armani tortoise shell sunglasses! The owner's valuable advice on future options and the staff's friendly service have made me a loyal customer. They seem to enjoy what they do. They make you feel like you're their only customer. I used to go to one of their competitors a few doors away - that is until their optician almost totally ruined the glasses I bought from them by bending and twisting the arms on my Prada frame as if he was a pretzel maker. Desperate to save my glasses, I popped into A-Look to see if they could help after hearing from the excellent experience my sisters had at the shop. Alfred saw right away what was wrong and said he would do his best to fix the problem though he couldn't promise anything because the damage was pretty bad. Thankfully he was able to fix things and my glasses have felt amazing ever since. From the moment you enter the store to the aftercare service, A-Look pays attention to the details. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they take the time to listen and help you find what you're looking for. The selection is also great - lots of fashionable frames to choose from. What they are basically doing is not giving the prescription so the people can shop around for glasses, they want you to be bound to buy they glasses; so they claim the fee charged will go towards the purchase of the glasses from them.

Bought a pair of glasses here last year and returned for an additional purchase with my partner. First visited 2 weeks ago to check out the prices of the frames and to see the variety of frames in the store. Little attention paid to us by the storekeeper which I didn't really pay much care to. Took no time to understand or find out our needs so I just stated them and asked if an eye exam would be possible that day. No full-time optometrist, no problem. Appointment was made for the following Monday but was cancelled (assuming since the Raptors won and there was a parade that day). No problem. Called back day of the appointment and rescheduled it for today (was reminded it needs to be 'confirmed'-which I found odd but went with it). Returned today for my scheduled eye exam appointment. Walked in the store a few minutes before for the eye exam. Waited until storekeeper acknowledged me and said I was here for my eye exam. Asked me to wait outside upon which I said I'd rather look at the frames, responded with 'I'm with a customer'. Buddy don't you think I can see that? I wasn't expecting you to leave serving them, I was letting you know that I'm going to check out the frames (and see if it's even worth $75 paying for an eye exam here). While I waited I was already looking at other stores. Storekeeper comes out asking for my glasses, let him know I'll be checking elsewhere before returning as I was on the phone with a store that offered a free eye exam, asked if they would do that here? At that time he just turned around and went back to the store- no effort made. Went back and told him that I wasn't happy with the time wasted in the back and forth setting up a simple eye exam and also with the little attention paid on both my visits. Storekeeper just laughs and tells me I never told him what I was looking for and I'm just looking for a free eye exam (I had come fully prepared to make a purchase). Also asked me if I was born here (and if I noticed the Raptors win?) when talking about the reason to cancel the last eye exam appointment. Disappointing way to make assumptions about someone and to make them feel bad for making the mistake of trying to make an appointment here. No apologies were made and this store just lost two customers and will continue to lose more if you don't correct your attitude. Going to an optometrist shouldn't be a pain in the rear.

Staff has endless patience in fulfilling my request of trying on maybe a few dozen of glasses…read more Staff gave me practical suggestions on what type of glasses I need- which were light weight glasses that does not press the spot on my head by the top of my ears too much after wearing them for 12 hours a day for consecutive days. This shop on Lakeshore offer glasses that are not offered in many other glasses shops. Such as the light weight Titanium glasses from Germany as well as this other light weight glasses from Spain.
