She kept coming out from behind the desk to chit chat with my 8 year old son. Then she started talking about how she thinks kids are aliens. It got weird. When they took the kids back I went with them, as I always do at my other dentist. He told me very coldly that I should go sit down and wait. I said I just like to see what you're doing and how their teeth look. He said there is nothing for you to see. The hygienist jumped in and said you don't need mommy do you? It seemed shady. There was no explanation of what he saw until I asked how did they look. All he said was they were okay. When it was my turn, the hygienist took a ton of x-rays with old looking mouth pieces. When the dentist cleaned my teeth he didn't speak much or explain anything except to say we are going to order a mouth guard for the clicking in my jaw. He didn't discuss it with me or ask if that's what I wanted. He did a quick cleaning, but did not floss. My teeth did not feel super clean like they usually do when you leave the dentist. This was our first visit and we won't be going back.

Today I got a last min. appt. for cleaning but was denied the cleaning by Dr. Sem who told me if I didn't get very cost full xrays, she would not allow me to have my teeth cleaned. Bullying elder patients into spending big money on x-rays when all they want is their teeth cleaned is reprehensible. I have been there many times and never faced such bullying and coercion. Sorry, Dr. Newman, I can't come back there if that is how I am treated. Dr Sem said that she wouldn't allow me to be "under her care" if I didn't get xrays but I was already under the care of Dr. Newman. What a racket!
