First of all, PLENTY of parking in the Hannaford Plaza shopping location. Dedicated spaces with signage for Physical Therapy clients just steps from the front doors. When you walk in you're greeted by a receptionist who asks your name and the Physical Therapist you will be working with that day. There are a number of therapists and, based on your needs, one of them will be YOURS for the entirety of the course of treatment. I was fortunate to be assigned to Dr Sarah Prizzia. She's well educated in all things muscular and skeletal and extremely personable. I had fallen from a step ladder, landing flat on my buttocks. I was in pain because I had compressed one of my lower vertebrae on my spine as a consequence of the fall. The muscles in my abdomen, buttocks and each leg needed to be loosed up - stretched - in order to strengthen and coordinate those muscles used to walk steadily, safely and support my body. My goal was to feel that I could stand, walk and climb steps with confidence and stability. Today, I feel SO MUCH BETTER. Dr Prizzia gave me several printed pages intermittently during my 10 weeks so I can continue with the same exercises at home. Maintaining what we accomplished together with her guidance is essential to stay healthy and limber. My sessions were approximately 45 minutes long. I felt stronger with each visit. Yesterday, I traveled to NYC by Metro North and MTA subway with lots of walking, stair climbing, navigating busy street . At one point I realized, I was ambulatory without a cane and pain free. Yes, I was tired when I got home but pleasantly surprised that trip had been precarious, slower and painful 10 weeks earlier and yesterday it was a joy! After getting a very expensive broken hand surgery, being in a cast for two months, and then driving an hour to my first physical therapy appointment here, here's the conversation that ensued: Receptionist #1: Do you have your prescription? Me: Oh! I didn't know I needed one. I have all my records from the surgery right here. Hand Therapist: I can't touch you without a prescription. Me: Oh shoot, I didn't realize. I wish that had been made more clear on the phone. Hand Therapist: (explains why she can't touch me without prescription) (At this point, random Receptionist #2 walks over and interrupts like Gollum) Receptionist #2: (Shaming) I did make it clear to you on the phone. I talked to you. Me: Wow, you just popped out of noowhere. Receptionist #2: (Irate, defensive) I did make it clear to you. Me: I'm going to just keep talking to these two because at least they're nice. Hand Therapist: (adding fire to the flames, huffily) Well, we're alllll nice. And it devolved from there. Learn some customer service, people. You just lost a paying customer for literally nooo reason other than you have no training in customer service. You offered no solutions, belittled, condescended, argued and shot back defensively. Smile, be nice, empathize, and the customer is always right.

Her hands are extensions of her amazing combination of intuition and knowledge. I appreciate that by the time I leave a massage with her, she has dissolved my distress. Jesse has the capacity to be flexible and let's me 'zone out' and breath rather than being very chatty. I would say 'melting' is a good way to explain how she helps me help her let the volume of my muscle tension go. I have had multiple whiplash accidents as well as head injuries and my body trusts her from my many experiences with her co-creating the path we take with what I present in a session.

The surgery was not due to an emergency. The scheduling and pre-op clearance took a few weeks. NBD. During intake the staff at the desk was professional and compassionate. As far as I know, they took care of the insurance processing. RN Steve was reassuring and thorough, setting me up pre-op. Met Dr. Smith the anesthesiologist who verified who I was and where the surgery would be. Dr. Parajon Podiatrist did a Kidner procedure on my right foot. I was informed the day before, to be there at 06:15 hours. ATPO (time and place of occurrence) everyone went over the what was going to happened and a post-op plan and verified who I am. Dr.'s Smith and Parajon said the operation takes about 1/2 hour, I'll be under sedation approximately two hours. I remember seeing it was 08:30 on the wall clock and my foot bandaged. By about 10 am my ride arrived and via hospital wheelchair transport away we went. Overall it was easy peasy.

A few drawback's to this place occur though: to get to this place, you have to enter another door not nearby, and walk about a mile out of your way, to get to it. On top of that, while they have no daycare center nearby, not in this center, and not in the hospital anyplace. If you need to find a daycare place for your young children, take them to an external location after calling up daycare agencies in the local phonebook(or take them to your own daycare person). This center is not suited for young children, due to possible mis-use by kids, and accidental injury. The minimum age a person can be for this center is 18. While working out, this place does have a TV. Catch up on the day's news. It's always on a news channel of some sort. Yes, they do have lockers which you can rent for the day. Borrow a key, but make sure to return the key at the end of the day. As far as record keeping, when I last attended this center(when money&time were better suited to my schedule last:2004) they kept your records in a file-cabinet in the room. Enquire within, if this is still the case.

I was in a car accident with multiple injuries including a fractured neck and three limbs less than 5 years ago. I have been to a few different physical therapists in different settings, both as an inpatient and out patient and therefore feel I have reference for what I observed of my treatment. I was told I did not answer questions about my injuries the way he wanted me to. I was talked down to and with disrespect. Not only was I the patient, but older than all staff. The staff are very friendly, so I stayed far longer than I should have. What I wanted to work on was disregarded (walking down steps), and told my input of my difficulty with stairs was not needed, only his evaluation on going up and down one low riser because they did not have the equipment. My Orthopedist, who I just saw said he would gladly send a new script to any new provider I choose. Time to move on.
