I was having balance issues and my doctor referred me to Kingston Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab…read more Therapy began about 10 weeks ago. First of all, PLENTY of parking in the Hannaford Plaza shopping location. Dedicated spaces with signage for Physical Therapy clients just steps from the front doors. When you walk in you're greeted by a receptionist who asks your name and the Physical Therapist you will be working with that day. There are a number of therapists and, based on your needs, one of them will be YOURS for the entirety of the course of treatment. I was fortunate to be assigned to Dr Sarah Prizzia. She's well educated in all things muscular and skeletal and extremely personable. I had fallen from a step ladder, landing flat on my buttocks. I was in pain because I had compressed one of my lower vertebrae on my spine as a consequence of the fall. The muscles in my abdomen, buttocks and each leg needed to be loosed up - stretched - in order to strengthen and coordinate those muscles used to walk steadily, safely and support my body. My goal was to feel that I could stand, walk and climb steps with confidence and stability. Today, I feel SO MUCH BETTER. Dr Prizzia gave me several printed pages intermittently during my 10 weeks so I can continue with the same exercises at home. Maintaining what we accomplished together with her guidance is essential to stay healthy and limber. My sessions were approximately 45 minutes long. I felt stronger with each visit. Yesterday, I traveled to NYC by Metro North and MTA subway with lots of walking, stair climbing, navigating busy street . At one point I realized, I was ambulatory without a cane and pain free. Yes, I was tired when I got home but pleasantly surprised that trip had been precarious, slower and painful 10 weeks earlier and yesterday it was a joy! Thank you, Dr. Prizzia, Kim and the support staff for their professionalism and commitment to a positive experience for all Patients. Excellent!

After getting a very expensive broken hand surgery, being in a cast for two months, and then driving an hour to my first physical therapy appointment here, here's the conversation that ensued: Receptionist #1: Do you have your prescription? Me: Oh! I didn't know I needed one. I have all my records from the surgery right here. Hand Therapist: I can't touch you without a prescription. Me: Oh shoot, I didn't realize. I wish that had been made more clear on the phone. Hand Therapist: (explains why she can't touch me without prescription) (At this point, random Receptionist #2 walks over and interrupts like Gollum) Receptionist #2: (Shaming) I did make it clear to you on the phone. I talked to you. Me: Wow, you just popped out of noowhere. Receptionist #2: (Irate, defensive) I did make it clear to you. Me: I'm going to just keep talking to these two because at least they're nice. Hand Therapist: (adding fire to the flames, huffily) Well, we're alllll nice. And it devolved from there. Learn some customer service, people. You just lost a paying customer for literally nooo reason other than you have no training in customer service. You offered no solutions, belittled, condescended, argued and shot back defensively. Smile, be nice, empathize, and the customer is always right.

There is no stimulation at all. Not sure what activities does but sit in the dining room. Have never seen them working with any resident. Dementia residents can be very difficult to deal with but this facility requires they to act perfectly. If they don't you are told the facility can't handle them. Since we reside in a different state, we tried desperately and repeatedly to reach our loved one on the phone. Only one of those many attempts successfully connected us to our loved one. Either we would fail to reach a human being, or if we did actually reach one, the call would be lost while they tried to transfer it. They apologized and constantly blamed a "new phone system that was glitching". Usually when a receptionist picked up a call, she was in a hurry to redirect our call which then fell into a black hole. No one would give us any information, not even a little bit. When we were able to communicate the one time with our loved one, she complained about being stuck in such a loathsome facility. Although we were refused any information, another relative who was also not on "The List" had access to all information just because she was local to the area. Incompetence seems to run rampant here. Please try at all costs to go with a different facility for anyone you care about.

Residents at a table in a " so called" common area in hospital gowns and pull ups. Several nurses at the nurses station talking amongst themselves and having ZERO interaction with the residents. The employees in staff seem to stay at the station and bring patients to sit around them to chat and socialize. With high wait times, patients are unnecessarily put in diapers. When a calm and reasonable complaint was made, retaliations came swiftly. There is no staffing for care but plenty for unnecessary security. Without being open to receiving feedback, this facility will never improve. I feel knowing what I know now, it would have been better to have PT and OT just come to the house.
