We called THREE times and spent $45 in taxi fare only to find that an appointment was indeed needed to have xrays done!! Go elsewhere!! Hmmm have been sitting here for 15 minutes for a simple mammogram. I was told RR is always on time but this Monday seems to be an exception which is odd as I'm the only one in the waiting room. Finally, I was processed about 20 min after my scheduled appt time. Everything was very tidy, staff really nice and overall experience better than I anticipated. read more

Nice staff and professional. I use the patient portal there and get my results from there before the doctor and with more detailed information. They are also cheaper than the hospital because I have a high deductible insurance plan. read more

Had my routine mammogram. They have an impressive 3d machine. Mary who did my mammo was very professional and kind. All aspect were explain. I always go to river radiology for all testing and procedures. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. read more

I have had numerous tests there for cancer screenings.starting in 2014. From PET/CT's to CT's, to MRI - However, it is always difficult to get the images sent to the ordering physician, even when requested that they do so. The most recent CT reports that I have had there also have had incorrect information and discrepancies from one report to the next. They were done at 3 month and 6 month intervals. You can never get to speak to a radiologist at all, and no one from medical records will call you back when requested. I will be having all my testing done elsewhere going forward. read more

I had scans done at River Radiology and it took them over a month to deliver a correct radiology report. I called several times asking them what is taking so long, and they punted saying they haven't received the records from my previous radiologist. After several weeks of follow up, I found out their records person, Amber, was not calling the right number, and in fact, the number she said she was calling was a fax number. I then had to track down all the correct follow up information for Amber to do the proper follow up. This office in incompetent. read more

Although I got told about this place by my brother who's been using this place off and on, when I needed to have an X-ray done 11 days ago, after my medical appointment I tried calling the place. Got no answer when I pressed the buttons to walk me into scheduling. The line actually disconnected on me. I sent my mom on a mission to get me through on the phone - and sure enough - I got through. When I said I wanted to schedule, the operator told me it would be several weeks - until she had me "fill out" some paperwork to prepare my appointment. When she heard it was just two "x-rays" in one appointment "type" (both were chest x-rays), she immediately switched into "today" mode and walked in an hour and a quarter early. I got in for a 4:15 pm appointment at about 3 pm and immediately was asked to fill out some paperwork. But the front desk clerk was feisty. With eyeglasses I can't see when I have my mask on both my nose and mouth- so I end up putting it just over my mouth - but she snipped at me - even after I explained to her that I can't fill out the paperwork with it that way so I couldn't write (long story). As I went over to the chairs to the right of the doors (I missed their verbal cue as to where I was supposed to fill out the forms to the other side), I lowered it and switched it up - only switching it back when heading back up. The second time I handed her the paperwork, she put more paperwork asserting the company I had no signs of COVID in handwritten forms and was told to sit in the seats to the left of the doorway. A few minutes later (about 3:30), I was called into the back and was walked in with by the "nurse"/"radiographer" who was kind and after I explained, obliged as I took off my glasses and took out my wallet and phone and put them all on the chair. This "radiographer" (I don't really know what her official title was) had to ask me about signs of asthma and after describing as much I could recall with "yes" I had it as a kid and when the last flare-up was (not needed in this review), she started to instruct me where to stand and how the "scans" need to be done - physically touching and moving me to initiate the Xray shot (especially at first) - standing up! (I still have yet to see the results, as my work needs these results. But these results can't be "read" by my doc until 10/18 - the date of my next appointment.) She walked me out the room and up to the point of the signs directing me to the exit, to which I followed, and out the door I was - following medical insurance state-owned policy information for payment. I think overall, it's okay to use. Just have to get past the front desk staff who couldn't understand what the customer says because "the customer is always right - not the reverse!" read more

They took X-rays of my knee and sent the report to a dentist I never heard of. Repeat -- knee X-rays to a dentist. You'd think the DDS would have been a clue. I was unaware of the screw up until a week later when I got a copy of the report by snail mail. (They refused to email me or fax me a copy.) I called their medical records dept and left a voice mail. No response. And there's no contact number for a CEO. They used to be good. But they've gone dramatically downhill. Find a more competent facility. read more

I recently raced to River Radiology for a 7:45 a.m. appt. only to get there and find out I was a day early...Ugh. The lady at the desk was very nice and said "Let's just see if the girls in the back will squeeze you in." and it turned out they did. The young woman who did my mammogram was very nice and very efficient. (She has a Havanese dog. Wish I knew her name!). The young lady who then did the bone scan had trouble with the machine but stayed calm and then did the scan. I was out in less than an hour. What could have been a frustrating start to my day was totally turned around by the pleasant and accommodating attitudes. I've used River Radiology for a lot of years and have always had a good experience. This one was above and beyond! read more

Please stay away if you care about your health. I was having an annual cancer screen and noticed a GoFundMe request on the dressing room wall for a tech who had died from Covid a month before 10/21). Sad? Not until I learned from my she had not been vaccinated. She was 55...healthy. I learned River Radiology does not require techs to be vaccinated...this woman had worked until she became ill. There is no social distancing when being imaged...you are basically cheek-to-cheek with your tech while having a mammogram. As I'm immunocompromised, I'm shocked. read more

I made an appointment a month and a half ago and understood 100% that they were backed up do to Covid, when I made the appointment I made sure they understood that my son was autistic and has sensory issues and asked if he would have to wear a mask to which I was told no they can accommodate him and they understand. I drove 2 1/2 hours to go this appointment and when getting there the check in was they come to the car I had to put a mask on, they took my son's ID and his insurance card as well as about 3 or 4 other people's cards, they take them inside bring you out a clip board and pen (all with no gloves)you fill out the paperwork and an employee comes out takes the clip board and you should go in, but no that is not what happened. When I checked my so in I again asked if he would have to wear a mask and was told no they can accommodate, but when the women came to get him she had to go in and another women from human resources came out. My so was now getting agitated and I was told that company policy it to wear a mask so he can not have the testing done. They follow no PPE except a mask and cross contaminate everything wasted 5 hours of my day with stating we are sorry you were told we can accommodate him. This is not the first time they were awful to deal with but it will be the last. Do not waste your time with this place as they told me go to the hospital across the street for testing. I would give them no stars but have to give them something to post! read more

I have been a client of River Radiology since the mid 1990's. I have ALWAYS been treated with compassion, interest, professionalism and respect by every single member of their staff, from someone who gets the door to the clinicians who perform tests. I have had 12 bone surgeries, 10 other surgeries and a multitude of fractures and joint replacements, culminating in lung cancer discovered in April. I've had the rather unfortunate opportunity to be able to compare River's services to local and Manhattan clinics and doctor offices, as well as hospitals as prestigious as Lenox Hill Hospital, Hospital for Special Surgery and NY Downtown Hospital. ACROSS THE BOARD, RIVER RADIOLOGY'S STAFF SURPASSES EVERY facility in EVERY WAY. I am moving to PA to be near family, but know I will never be able to find a medical organization as excellent at they have been for me for over 20 years.. read more

I had to accompany a family member to River Radiology for a very concerning medical issue. The entire process was so easy and professional. We had some imaging done and fortunately the results, which came back the same day, came as a great relief. It was really great to see how fast the results came. Thanks very much to RR. Avoid technician was rude, told me I was laying incorrectly, as if I'm supposed to know how their tests work. Here a second time to pick up a CD they were supposed to give me when I was tested. Lady at desk was snippy and suggested that I hadn't previously ask for the CD. Go anywhere else. Oh and their parking lot is a war zone and riddled with car killer pot holes. read more

Receptionist was pleasant. Waiting room was clean and spacious. My wait time was short. An RN gave me 2 chilled Moccachino CT shakes to drink and clear instructions on when and how to pace myself drinking them. I was sent to a waiting room. Eventually, a tech came and collected me and guided me to a reclining table with a big donut shaped machine. The CT test lasted maybe 5 minutes and I was done. Everyone at River Radiology was pleasant and sensitive. I was offered a copy of my CT scan on a disc and waited in the waiting room for a few minutes and a tech brought the disc out to me. He was also very friendly. My experience was positive at RR. read more

It felt as if the patient is the least important part of the staff's day, an interruption of their routine. The tech was rude because she thought I had arrived late when I actually was early but the reception desk never completed my check-in for over a half hour after my arrival. The tech then had me wait even longer (as if to prove a point). This is not my first problem there, but it is my last. read more
