The competition teams have bonding nights and activities throughout the season to build relationships and connection and it shows in how the dancers all treat each other. In the midst of a pandemic, I was really glad to see Zoom classes offered and signed up with low expectations; I was just hoping to find my daughter an outlet for her energy. Ms. Aria and Ms. Christine remembered us even though we were gone for a while and my daughter was quickly put into the right class level. 4 days later, we received the Zoom invitation for her first class. Ms. Aria offers the Pre-Ballet 1 & 2 class to on-site in an outdoors setting (plenty of water breaks) and Zoom students, and I am impressed at her effort and attention to both on-site and her Zoom students as they are, after all, young children. After the first class on a tablet, our family experimented with our zoom learning space and eventually settled on projecting to the wall-mounted TV with a blue tape on the carpet to keep our kid within camera view, so Ms. Aria can monitor my daughter's progress more easily. By the end of second class, my daughter has revisited the old ballet positions and learned new ones, all from the comfort of our living room (aka zoom learning space). I am really glad we signed up for Zoom ballet classes. My daughter was so excited for her second class this week she was all dressed and ready to go an hour before class. Shay will make you pay for everything down to practice clothes straight from her (leotard, shoes, etc). Pay her high prices instead of Amazon or Target. We paid $70 for dance recital pics never received Anything! Every month there was something new I had to pay for. She is not flexible and will kick your child out of a show for an honest human error! We were new and learning how things worked and she did not care to show us the ropes or give any grace. She has no heart! My daughter got cheated of lesson time several times when the other girl didnt show up, did we get a price reduction? Nope! My daughter is special needs and this woman did not give a darn about anything other than running her school like the military! My daughter cried and cried. I tried to plead with Shay as there was still another practice and rehearsal left before the show. But she was mean and rude about it. We missed one day! Her email notifications are novels! she wont text you or tell you in person of important dates. Just long novels with sooooo much info! I was moving and very busy and simply forgot. A text or heads up when we were at dance practice the Friday before was too much to ask for? Forgive me! Bad bad experience!
