My husband and I came to Genji Nails on a early Wednesday afternoon to get pedicures for our birthday. There are numerous nail shops in the area but this particular shop had the best rating so that's why we chose this location.The shop was not very busy when we arrived so they were able to seat us immediately. The ambiance was comfortable and the techs were friendly. Everything was clean. I chose to get a Gel French pedicure and and my husband had clear polish added to his nails. They took their time with the pedicures, it was relaxing. This was my husband's first time getting his toes done but it won't be the last, he enjoyed it. My French pedicure was done meticulously, and I was very happy with the outcome. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the service. I plan to come back to Genji Nails. Based on the sign on the door they close at 7pm everyday and are closed on Sundays so plan accordingly. read more

Didn't get what I asked for. First time here so I told the man my concerns before he got too far on one hand before starting the other. He said he wasn't finished and yo trust the process. I asked for a color French tip. My tip was half my nail. Before I sat down I asked what the total price was with the oval shape (they charge $5 for). He mentioned that the price would be $55 total. When I got to the counter to pay, he charged $60 denying he trial me the total with the shape was $55. My problem is not getting what I asked for when I politely expressed my concerns before and discussed the price before. I'm stuck with this for two weeks until I find someone to fix this monstrosity. read more

Getting ready for graduations and Memorial Day weekend. Brought my mom along for pedicure and manicure. We arrived about 5:20. We were greeted and asked to choose a color. Since it's my mom's first pedicure, I chose #6 (Paraffin Spa Pedicure). My mom loved it! . Both nail techs were awesome! They took their time massaging our feet in which I loved bc I had been running earlier. The hot towels are Devine! If you're not getting the hot towels you're missing out. It relaxes you for a good nights sleep . They're conveniently located in the Sports Academy shopping center. Target and Shane's are a couple doors down. I called for an opening and they took me immediately! Everything was clean! Everything looked clean. No drops of polish here or there. There was attention to detail. The back rooms were neat and clean which I saw when I used the clean restroom. So professional- the lady in front was polite and friendly. She cheerfully helped me choose colors and introduced me to Tami, my tech! My tech was well dressed in professional attire and her makeup was perfect. The pedicure and manicure were amazing. Slow, careful and gentle - what a change from the place I used to go. The $35 pedi included wax, hot towels and massage - just wow! The mani was so well done - my nails are exactly the way I requested!!! My old salon did not do hand massage - but Tami has reminded me how great it can be! Awful. Went With my sister and mom, my sisters SNS set turned out beautiful but the nail tech who did my nails clearly has never done SNS before. My nails were dipped 4 times and are thick and globby they are terrible I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I really liked the SNS service from Kathy. I go for natural nail looks and she knocked it out of the park.

This is my favorite nail salon! I live an hour and a half away, and I probably pass a hundred of them just to get to Genji. I've tried other salons, and each time, I am disappointed. My nails always last longer, whether it is gel or dipped color, and they look so much better! They take their time and get it right to make certain you are satisfied. The techs are super friendly, and they always remember me. It is obvious that they have lots of repeat customers because people are constantly coming in and giving hugs to the techs and calling them by name. Give them a try. read more

I can't go here anymore! The guy that sits up front is always incredibly rude! The last time he did my nails, he kept grinding my cuticles and when I told him it was painful, he said I was just sensitive! I ended up with scabs on 3 different fingers after that. And I get the same thing every time, except for color and the price is always different... like they just charge you whatever they want! This nail shop typically does ok work but the problem is customer service and a nail tech named Phillip. If you tell him something is wrong with your service ... Nails.. Polish.. He doesn't take it constructively no matter how nice you say it. He, in his native language, ask someone else to service you and he refuses to work with you. He makes it very uncomfortable to receive service during what should be a very enjoyable activity. Today I went in and he refused to greet me and seed it to other people at the pedicure seat without even acknowledging that I was sitting and waiting. I have never been rude, I rate, loud, and even with bad service I have always left a tip. This is an honest review from what used to be a very loyal customer. read more

I don't know what to think about this place ... every time I go there it's a different experience. The first time the lady at table 7 was awesome and did a great job on my nails. Then I went for a pedicure the week after and that girl was awesome and so sweet! The two times after the experience was way different... the girl at table 4 or 5 I think, didn't talk and seemed miserable the entire time ... I picked an SNS powder and she said "are you sure?" I said "I think so, why?" ... But she didn't tell me why she was hesitant about the color ... after she put the color on, I mentioned the color came out too dark and she didn't seem to care ... so whatever I dealt with it ... she was still miserable and seemed pissed about something... the only time she smiled was at the end when I still gave her a 20-25% tip eventho she didn't earn it ... went back today because one of the nails that she did less than a week ago broke already. Most nail salons fix broken nails for free but this guy charged me $4 for ONE NAIL! That's crazy considering the powder should last 2 weeks at LEAST. He wasn't very nice either! I was disappointed in the quality of work. I got a pedicure and gel manicure. The girl doing my pedi was pulling at the cuticle instead of using the tool to snip it. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't that pleasant. Then when I told her I didn't want the cheese grater she seemed to get annoyed with me. I get pedi's pretty often and can get the same effect using the pumice scrubber without the discomfort. Then when it came time for my mani, I asked that the guy not cut too much, of my skin....he took that to mean not cleanup the cuticle. So when I asked him if he was gonna clean them up before polishing he said "I thought you didn't want too much cut. I tried to explain but he didn't get it. So he went back over them, and of course, now my fingers are a little sore. Exactly what I was trying to avoid. I think that simply using cuticle remover in both the mani and pedi process would go a long way, instead of using instruments to get the job done. At least this has been my experience at other salons. Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more
