I don't know how many years it has been that I have heard the excuse that it must be Comcast, that's why we don't return our phone calls. As many of these reviews have stated Patrick who owns the company with his wife, Donna is very good on the sales front and very interactive until there's a handoff; the product is installed. Patrick convinced us to go with a Kohler generator versus a Generac or any other brands because of the efficiency and after doing some independent research, I did not disagree with his assessment. Unfortunately, we've had some issues with the unit over the years, and this company becomes less and less visible with each and every time that they are needed. I would say that Kohler is the brand to go with but find another authorized installer and service company that handles Kohler, which is not this company. I've had this company perform annual maintenance on my whole house generator for the past 5 to 7 years. Prior to engaging them, I simply ignored generator maintenance, so for 5 years or so following installation no one changed the oil, checked the timing, tested the battery, or throughly serviced this expensive and essential amenity. It finally dawned on me that when I really need it to perform in an emergency it needs to work, and professional maintenance is essential. I reached out to Generator Power Solutions some years ago. I didn't know them nor was I sure of their reputation or their professionalism. I was lucky! They annually perform a nuts to bolts inspection, change oil & filter and make sure the machine is performing to specs and is ready to work properly whenever needed. Their office staff has always been pleasant, courteous, and professional and their techs have been top notch. Sue has serviced my machine for the past several years and has been great! She knows her stuff, takes her time and doesn't leave until she's satisfied that the generator is fully up to specs and ready to work if called upon. I couldn't be more pleased with this business! I wish all businesses were as dependable and competent as these folks, they have earned my unequivocal recommendation! read more

Our Kohler generator failed a few days before we were scheduled to go on vacation, and our basement floods if the sump pump loses power. John Prive and his team at Generator Power Solutions were very responsive and quickly determined that the generator was unrepairable. Although we had to cancel our vacation to babysit the sump pump, we didn't lose any money, and in less than two weeks GPS had ordered, delivered and installed a new Generac generator. GPS made multiple trips to our home in the NH lakes region in advance of the install to check on the details of our electrical system to ensure that the correct parts were ordered. This company was contracted by Lowes to install my Generac whole-house generator. The generator was eventually installed and has worked well so far for the first year, which is why I'm giving them 2 stars. I won't be using them again or recommending them. Here's why: 1) My generator was "lost" in that it was shipped but never attached to my name. Was this Lowes' fault or GPS' fault? Hard to say, but the fact is that no one from GPS ever bothered to take any sort of proactive stance to see what had happened to my generator or why one that had been shipped and was sitting around with no customer attached to it. I eventually had to call and ask where my generator was. Lowes said it shipped and that I should call GPS. GPS said they never got it and that, since my contract was with Lowes, I should call them. This is as much Lowes' fault as GPS (and they will get a review from me as well), but the fact is bouncing around a customer rather than trying to figure out what went wrong is not good customer service. It was only after repeated very polite calls by me to both parties that they actually bothered to get on the phone WITH EACH OTHER and figure out that my generator was present and available the whole time. 2) GPS was one of the least responsive companies I have ever dealt with. They would never proactively give updates. I would call maybe once every two weeks after hearing nothing, be told someone would call me back, wait two weeks hearing nothing, and have to call again. This happened CONSTANTLY. I eventually had to go up the chain at Lowes and BEG the district manager there to do something, as my generator install was 5 months behind schedule, and I had already had to cancel a holiday trip to fly back home because the power was out. It was only when the Lowes DM finally got involved that they started to actually respond. 3) The installation was done improperly and when the GPS supervisor came out to inspect it, he said they'd have to come out again and raise the unit up and redo the foundation it was set on. Kudos to the supervisor for coming out and having it redone, but it should have been done properly in the first place. 4) Even with #3 above, the permit person came out and rolled his eyes and said that the insulation for the generator piping to the propane tank was wrong and had to be dug back up and reinsulated with the proper type of material. He was really quite incredulous that GOS had used the insulation they had used, which he said was entirely unfit and potentially unsafe. That meant another several weeks and another appointment, both to get GPS to come out and fix it and to schedule another permit appointment. 5) Because of the "lost" generator, the unresponsiveness, and the needed fixes to the installation, I lost out on my free 10-year warranty from Generac, which had an expiration date. That was a $1,335 value flushed down the toilet through no fault of my own. tl,dr: Very unresponsive, cannot recommend. read more

I ordered a generator over 14 months ago. I have now asked for my money back. It has been weeks and I am still waiting for a check. Their customer service has been awful. It has been extremely hard to get in contact with the owners...I have left voice messages, posted on web site for help, sent emails and have gone down there multiple times. You have inexperience people putting in Generations and when my husband called many times about how it's not working women gave me attitude. STAY AWAY ! WORST COMMUNICATION EVER ! PROJECT NOT FINISHED ! I bought a $9K generator and installation through Lowe's. This company was the assigned installer. The initial appointment with Patrick went fine. Everything afterwards went south: - calls for scheduling took forever and the attitude was rather rude - techs don't call ahead when arriving (late) to the property - no communication when the next trade would come, what the next steps are or when the project would be finished - project not completely finished after three months (finishing details still missing) - start-up tech even recommneded to me not buy the service package from the company he is working for (says a lot....). Apparently this seemed a good company at some point but the office needs significant training and upgrades. Not sure where the owner is. His sales pitch was good but he disappreared in the meantime. Since the problems started, no one has reached to me to find a reasonable resolution. I can live with problems if they are dealt with. read more

I highly recommend! I waited ~2 years to write a review in order to ensure that there were no problems with my generator install. In 2016, I purchased a "turnkey" 11KW Generac standby generator solution through Lowes and Generac Power Solutions was the designated installer. The entire install process was relatively painless. In fact, the electrician they sent to install the breaker box probably even saved my house from potential damage when he discovered a leaking natural gas line during his portion of the install. I'm happy to report that my generator still works and hasn't had issues. I've also used the company's maintenance service. The technicians were always polite, professional and provided feedback on the condition of my generator at the conclusion of their work. These guys are great! read more

I highly recommend this company! I went through Lowes for the purchase and was teamed up with this company and I can't say enough about them. I did three estimates and they had the best price. They are a family owned company and you would think all their employees are their kids because they are all so professional and polite as the owner and his wife is! I can also say the companies they use for electrical and gas work are great also. When the inspectors showed up and they asked who did the work they said on both occasions "You are in good hands they do very good work" Now I can travel as I do for work and know my family will be ok if we lose power. read more
