Generator Pro (Nashua) and NH Generator Installers (Concord) were the two companies that had the generator installation process down to a science as well as good reviews on other sites. We brought both companies out to give us quotes and the work came out to about the same price in both cases. We ended up choosing Generator Pro because (a) we didn't have to chase them down for the estimate after the visit, (b) the owner personally did the site visit for the estimate and seemed like a really good guy and (c) their communication skills were noticeably better than their competitor. Generator Pro ended up being great every step of the way to the finish line. The installation process is coordinated by Michelle, who is incredible at her job. When you undertake a complex job such as a generator installation, the person coordinating the work is just as important as the people actually performing the work. There are numerous steps along the way--choosing the right generator, getting it delivered and "set", gas hookup, electrical hookup, inspection, etc--and most of it has to happen in a certain order around the buyer's schedule. Some of the work needed to be outsourced to 3rd parties, such as gas work and electrical work. Generator Pro chose very friendly and competent workers for these tasks that we were happy to welcome into our home. When the generator process was complete, the owner (Doug) drove over to give us a personalized tutorial on usage. When you spend this amount of money on a purchase, you want to feel great about it every step of the way. D'Ambrosio Electric worked efficiently, even with the holiday season in full swing...and with a wall that apparently needs some more repair work done in it, we discovered--and (when the range installers came days later and discovered that a wrong cable had been attached to my new range, causing a BIG spark) Bill even came back the same day my range was delivered, the day after Christmas--when most other electricians were out on vacation--to check my range and the power situation...he even assured me that he could get my new range moved in--and he did indeed even work with a kind neighbor to install my new range by tilting it under an adjacent window ledge--after the two "professional" installers retained by the appliance dealer had told me they could NOT slide the new range under the window ledge, claiming that the range simply would not fit in the available space...so the "pro" installers had left the new range standing out on my kitchen floor for ME to figure out what next to do (they could only suggest cutting off the window ledge or cutting back the countertop to accommodate the range). He gave me a quote which we agreed and signed off on financing using Synchrony Bank (which he proudly displays on his web site). He completed the first half of the work and promptly collected his partial payment. Now, he refuses to work with Synchrony Bank and expects me to pay the balance amount WITHOUT installing the generator and completing the setup, activation and town inspection. The setup, activation and town inspection are clearly mentioned in the quote which we both signed. So far, for the past 4 months, he has refused to install the generator and complete the requisite work, but expects payment without installing the generator and getting the town inspector approval of his work.
