IF I COULD GIVE GENERATION KIA ZERO STARS I WOULD! Generation Kia's mechanics did not properly tighten the oil plug on my vehicle after an oil change. The engine was suffocated resulting in catastrophic failure and seized the crankshaft. The general manager refused to pay the total cost of a replaced used engine and labor. Yup there is some sleazyness going on here...along with reps that have attitudes. First let me say I've been servcing my KIA Sorento here for years and depending who you get behind that service kiosk you may have a good experience or a bad one. Obviously there is no customer service training going on here. But I ignore it and push through, but I have taken enough and its time to speak up. First, have you noticed when ever you bring in a discount coupon, a mysterious shop charge appears on your invoice statement. It's called "CUSTOMER PAY SHOP FOR REPAIR ORDER". If you don't let them know in advance that you have a coupon, they print out the invoice without that charge. If you tell them you have a coupon after the invoice is printed, they have to reprint your invoice and there it is, the extra charge. When I sent them a letter about it they didnt want to talk about it. 2nd, I made an appointment for an oil change and to find out why three dash board indicators all lit up. The rep already had an attitude when I arrived. He asked if I was leaving it or waiting for it, and I said waiting, he said I couldn't because it would take all day. I said ALL DAY!!! I mean really the entire day? He said yes! I had no ride so I canceled my appointment on the spot and left. 3rd, So I took my the car to a local reputable repair shop for the oil change and to check out the dashboard lights (took a couple of hours) and low and behold the cause of my dash board lights was identified as a "Failure Trend" as discovered by KIA Technical Service Representatives out in the field who collect service data from dealerships to identify failure patterns. Once an effective repair is found the information gets written up as a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) and distributed to all dealerships. This is not to be confused with a recall. Recalls are only for defects or failures that can potentially cause injury. While the car maker is under no obligation to pay for the repair, the bottom line is that sometimes they will depending on the repair and situation. 4th, I called Generation KIA and asked to make a service appointment for an oil change and to discuss the TSB, thinking perhaps they can meet me half way or so on the cost of this expensive repair (both rear Hubs must be replaced for speed sensor replacement). The answering service arranged an appointment and when I asked her to speak to a service representative about a TSB, she didnt know what I was talking about. When I explained she put me on hold to speak to someone and came back to say that TSB's are not available to anyone but tech's to which I replied they're availabe online, and then she wrote me off. Again I canceled my appointment. They don't deserve your loyalty. Loyalty is earned with respect and honest concern for your patronage. read more

I usually go to smithtown kia (5 star experience every time) and I've had kias for the past 4 years. I had a tire blowout recently and was closer to generation kia in bohemia so I chose to get towed to that location for the first time. After calling ahead and giving them all my info, being told they had the tire in stock, and that it would take about a day for them to fix it, I had to call back 2 days later after not hearing from them with any updates. I was told by the girl who rudely answered the phone that if they hadn't called me yet then it meant it wasn't ready, without her even asking which car I was calling in regards to or what my name was. I waited one more day and on the 3rd day I called back and asked why it was taking so long with no updates when they told me I could bring it there for a quick replacement. This time they asked my info and said oh you're the 2020 kia, we didn't have your info to call you to tell you it's been ready. Horrible communication, no apology and very incompetent to handle it this way. I hope to never have to rely on this location again. read more

My only complaint is that I recommend a fast lube section because I know most of the ppl wanna a quick oil change and go unless someone has something wrong with there vehicle but a fast line would be the thing since time is a big concern to people. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I went to Generation KIA to purchase a used vehicle. I gave them $1000.00 deposit in earnest, contingent that the vehicle would be inspection by a mechanic of my choosing. After inspection of the vehicle and a negative response from the dealership I decided not to move forward with the purchase. I informed the dealership with a few hours of my wishes and was promised a full refund. It has been 2 weeks, I have made several phone calls to them. I have spoke to the sales rep., 2 different managers, and the finance department. I have since disputed the charge with my credit card company, my CC company is the one that resolved the refund issue. After six days of leasing a car from Kia my son unfortunately had a small accident. Dealing with the insurance company was a nightmare, but dealing with Vinnie A. from the service department was a dream! Vinnie guided us and followed through right until the end of the process. When we first met Vinnie, we were put at ease. He is super-efficient and a clear communicator. Through this process he was selfless in his efforts and his time. He updated us and always returned our calls on a consistent basis even if it was on his day off or after his shift was supposed to be over. Vinnie's endless energy, dedication, passion, and commitment to his job is limitless! He finds solutions, rather than allowing a problem to remain unresolved, and never turned his back on us once! He genuinely cares about his customers. Thank you, Kia, for having this fine worker. Most of all, we thank you Vinnie A. for being a quality worker and human being! read more

Purchased/leased my first car with Generation Kia. I was fully guided through the process with tons of great and honest advice along the way. I then picked out the perfect car , Kia K5. I have this car a year later and still love it. Every time I go in for a general service I've been greeted with urgency and leave with a genuine experience from the team. I love my car , love the service of each individual I've encountered and love generation Kia. 1000% recommend , especially for a first time leaser like me. Worst experience ever at a dealership. Steven aka Brian held us for almost 6 hours, and the finance guy Jamal had a higher price of the vehicle from what the sticker price stated. They both kept scribbling over numbers on a work sheet constantly changing numbers, and we only noticed the higher vehicle price after we saw the packet of paperwork when we got home. **the higher price they charged us was NOT listed on the vehicle window sticker** read more

I hate to leave bad reviews but I feel obliged as this place has soured my mood. ::Update:: The dealer reached out to me after seeing this review. I spoke to one of the sales managers, Joe, who was apologetic and told me he would advocate to the General Manager on my behalf to get me the vehicle at the quoted price. Unfortunately, the GM was not willing to budge and still wanted to charge $2000 over MSRP. The only thing that the call with Joe accomplished was having me let down for a second time. I wish I could say that I can recommend this dealer, but I would avoid it if you are in the market for a Telluride. They are likely more willing to negotiate on less popular models, so I wouldn't discount them completely. :: My wife and I have been on the market for a new Kia Telluride and have been diligent with our searches. Most dealers appear to be charging over MSRP for the SX-Prestige model due to scarcity of demand. What most dealers don't understand is that not everyone is impulsive and is willing to drive a few hours to save thousand of dollars. Last night, after searching inventories, I found the exact SX-P model that we wanted. I called the dealer and spoke to a salesman that assured me, to my delight, that the dealer was not charging anything over sticker price. I gave him my debit card information over the phone to place a deposit on the vehicle. We had planned on financing a portion of the vehicle to take advantage of incentives, to which our salesman responded by asking for my email to send the financing paperwork. The e-mail never arrived. No big deal I thought, we can just spend a little extra time at the dealer. This morning, my wife and I ran to our banks to get certified checks to pick up the vehicle. While at the bank, I noticed that the deposit was never debited out my account. Strike two. I sent our salesman a text asking why the money was not taken out, to which he replies, "we don't take deposits on the Kia Telluride". This would have been good information to know prior to giving my banking information to a stranger over the phone. Forward to the showroom today; I arrive to see the car being whipped around the lot as I am met by our salesman. I hand him my license so we can begin the transaction, and hand him the two cashiers checks. our salesman returns with a piece of paper with a number over $53,000 written on it and proceeds to say, "this is the price of the vehicle before taxes and DMV fees." I must have sat there for a few seconds before reminding him that I was quoted STICKER price ($49,015) over the phone not even 24 hours prior. He looks at me with a smug look insisting, "no, I never said that." I understand that scarcity and demand affects pricing, but you have to be insane to think that paying $4000 over MSRP on a heavily deprecating asset is appropriate. I was livid. I demanded to talk to the manager, to which he responds, no, you are not talking to my manager. Excuse me? I walked around the showroom until I found the manager and explained the situation. The sales manager, Tyler, was very apologetic and excused the transaction due to our salesman being new and that he didn't know any better. I told Tyler I would not be paying a cent over MSRP. Unfortunately, his best solution was to "split the difference" and take half of the $4000 over MSRP down to $2000. Sadly, I had to walk. Kia has made great strides in the Brand by crafting a magnificent vehicle with the Telluride SX. Unfortunately, this buying experience has heavily soured my opinion of the brand. Take this review with a grain of salt. Many consumers are okay paying a premium for something that they really want, and that is okay. After all, I am sure that someone will purchase the vehicle at some point. read more

Beware of what they tell you needs to be fixed, they will outright lie to you and tell you that you need something serviced and it will turn out that you don't. For example The machine that tells you if your tires are aligned is completely incorrect and if you take it to another mechanic you won't need an alignment. Another example is that they'll tell you that you need to change your coolant and your coolant is perfectly fine along with brakes and rotors they'll always try to get you for something. You'll have to take it to another mechanic to see if the service they claim you need is truly needed. What a waste of time. read more

My mother brought a brand new Kia Soul from Generation Kia in Bohemia. She put on almost 5,000 miles in 1 year. She took her new Soul back to Generation Kia for a NY State Inspection which cost my 76 year old mother over $800. These guys, Sal, Frank Chuck are a bunch of sharks. Taking advantage of an elderly woman saying SHE requested new brakes, tires, the whole nine yards! Soon after that, mom totaled her Soul. And with age and senility I couldnt stray her away from Kia. Although I called them many times to find out why they allowed a service manager to screw her, no one called back. NOW they called like crazy when she needed a replacement car. She went down there, they gave her a price. Frank Caputo told me he would include a warranty but when it came time to do the deal, the sales rep said, "No its not included" and miraculously the car my mom put a deposit on was no longer available. They should be inspected to maintain good morals and be honest. I wouldn't take a Kia is it was free. read more

I bought my car here almost a year ago and during the buying process I was insanely unhappy with the service. So many back and forth answers, so many tricks to spend more money on monthly payments for a longer loan term.. the financing department was everything but helpful. The woman messed up the papers over three times and made it seem like it was my fault for her mistakes. There wasn't a user guide in the car and she told me I could find one on ebay for $5-10.. mind you, I am the first owner of the car. I was promised certain parts that didn't even come in my model car. I wrote a letter about my terrible experience which brought me in to one man who promised the world and more to make me happy. His goal was to make me a kia customer for life and I was already dead set on never coming back. I heard him out, he had some great things to say. Then after a week, I never heard from him again, he went to the kia in east meadow. I called and called and finally got transferred to his number there, and his first question was, "how did you get this number?" I've been helped since with the user guide, but the part I was promised was never compensated for. I now have a maintenance contract for 3 years due to their lack of service. It takes two hours for an oil change and inspection. Yes I had an appointment for early in the morning so now my day is delayed. Last time I got an oil change, they said I was getting a complimentary car wash. (I had pink marker on it from a body shop) When I got the car back, the pink marker wasn't even smudged like there was any effort in cleaning. The service department doesn't seem to take their "service" seriously. You never hear people in the waiting room happy with Generation Kia. I love my car but the only reason I keep coming back is for the free oil changes, which is a result of the staff here. I will never buy a car from these people again. read more

My experience here was pretty typical. I bought a car here (2015 Kia Optima EX) a few months ago. Absolutely love the car, but the service with salesmen was EH. Pretty much what you expect with a car dealership. The main salesman I had was a young kid, like 19 years old. Really nice guy, liked dealing with him. The only thing that I was unhappy about is that he told me the car came with heated seats and it doesn't. I didn't realize until after I brought it home and went to use them lol I thought it was odd because I knew that 2014 EX version doesn't come with heated seats, but it was a 2015 so I thought oh maybe this year does have them! But no haha I don't think he was intentionally lying though, he was new. There was another salesman there that was extremely rude. I forget his name, he came over when we discussed pricing of the car and my APR %. He was giving my mother huge attitude. All she was doing was asking why the % was so high (because we have never financed a car before and are unfamiliar with process). He explained how my credit score was low, but he was sooo snippy and rude. We were both just like okay, thats all you had to say lol didn't need the attitude... Almost wanted to say something to him for being so nasty to my mom. Maybe his dog got run over that morning or something, and thats why he was so nasty. read more

So I'm not quite home yet though I left home at 2pm after having spoken with Ivonne about a Kia Soul that generation had listed on Cars dot com. I spoke with her at about 12pm. But I get in the car anyway leaving Jersey at 2.pm I get there, I do not see the car...I know because the car I'm looking for is bright green & they have line 9 cars on the whole lot&it is NOT here. A very weird salesman skips up to me and I explain what I am looking for. He begins to stutter & explains the car I want sold this morning, I said but I just spoke to Ivonne...his eyes brighten.. I realize I've been had. He says, I swear I will make it up to you, he says he is going to get keys to show me other models. I get in my car & get back on the highway...I don't say bye!!! read more

I went to Generation Kia after having an aweful experience at another Kia dealership. I was already annoyed when I walked in the door. Patty Benedetto caught me when I walked in. She was sweet, not at all pushy, she took notes as I went through my situation and what I was looking for. She took me through the cars available and she assured me we could get a deal done. I was introduced to Jamal in financing, and he was able get me into the car I wanted with a stellar rate and a payment below my expectations. This payment was $200 below my previous quote from the other dealership. I'm glad I decided to goto this Kia dealership. Their Sales department works hard to get you the best deal available and doesnt try to shove anything down your throat, unlike the east meadow Kia. Thanks again for turning a negative car buying experience into a positive one. read more

Total rip off be warned of the parts department. I currently lease a car through this dealership (huge mistake). First off when i leased my car we had the agreement that it would be 2000 down including all taxes and first month. Then when i went to pick up the car they slapped me with the first month payment. Normally i wouldn't even write a review but the next part really pissed me off. I don't know much about cars. I went in for an included oil change. While doing so they pulled my cabin air filter out, asked if I wanted it replaced. I said sure they told me its normally 80 dollars but they'll do 60 for me. So i said sure. Luckily i had my buddy with me and he started laughing. He told me not to do that. Left the dealer went to an auto store, 8 dollars for the filter and 2 mins to replace it in the car total bull. Be Warned! On the positive when I do go for oil change (included 4) they always do fill all fluids, and have never given me a problem. read more

Stay as far away from this dealership as you can! Conveniently leaving key information out of the initial negotiations, and I think there is something fishy with their credit reporting. I was in the market for a car, and needed to make the purchase within a few days. After a bit of online research, it seemed Generation Kia would be able to meet my needs with a low-mileage, low-priced preowned vehicle. On January 22, I walked into the dealership with several vehicles in mind, and was immediately assisted. At this point, it seemed this would be a great experience. I test drove a number of vehicles, and ultimately settled on a 2015 Optima with less than 10K miles, for a VERY reasonable price. Well, reasonable because the salesperson conveniently didn't mention all of the additional costs that would drive the final sale price up several thousand dollars. I put down a $250 deposit (which I was assured was fully refundable) to hold the vehicle until later that evening, when I would come back with my wife and finalize the details. Fast forward to that evening. Paperwork is being processed for what feels like an eternity. Finally, we're called into the finance office, where we learn the actual final price jumped a few grand, and then they tried to sell me a warranty that would add another couple grand. The icing on the cake - my wife has EXCELLENT credit. My credit is decent. We were both on this loan, and they come back with "the best rate they could get" - 6.87%. Are you kidding me? And the most baffling part; they showed us the credit scores they used. My wife's was right in line with what we knew it to be, within a point or two. Mine, however, was over SEVENTY POINTS LESS than we know it to be. And I know this, because I literally checked my score that day so I knew what I would expect. I understand there is fluctuation in credit scores based on the system used, but a more than seventy point difference? Yeah, there's something fishy going on there. (It should also be noted here that they say you MUST finance with them, otherwise they tack on another $500). Needless to say, we declined, and left. A week later, I bought a brand new car at much better dealership. Oh, and the rate on my loan? 1.7%. But it doesn't end there. A few days after we left, I called to have my $250 deposit refunded. I was informed that everything was set, and we should see the refund reflected in our banking within 5-10 business days. Here we are, roughly 3 weeks later, and still nothing. I contacted the dealership yesterday, and was promised a call back in the evening. Call never came. Just reached out again, and was promised a call back this evening. I won't hold my breath. Just stay as far away from this place as you can. I plan to never step foot back in this place, and neither should you. read more

HORRIBLE!!! They were nice when I walked in. Answered all the questions I have. But as soon as it came to the serious stuff they were so shady. They told me they needed to work my application. I went on a Saturday morning. They told me they will get back to me later that evening. Never got back to me till late that night. Michael finally called me said the finance manager will get back to me tomorrow (Sunday). Sunday comes and goes I never get a call. I didn't want to be pushy so I waited till Monday to get in contact with him. Called and spoke to the receptionist she said neither of them were in but she will take a message. So another day comes and goes, Tuesday comes and goes( even after I called again and left messages). FINALLY Wednesday I got in touch with Michael. He said that Jamal the finance manager just got in and he has to double check on the status. So fast forward to Thursday Michael never called me back so I went In and got told that unless I was willing to do "a shit ton of money for a down payment." they can't help me!!! Hmm okay well that wasn't an option and told them exactly what I could do and afford. Do not waste your time at this dealership!!! Spoke with one guy about their advertised leasing program he stopped calling me after dragging his feet so I went to the manager and he identified himself as Joe Anthony. This is obviously a bait and switch promotion and he saw I was not going to be taken so he disappeared. Do not go to this dealership find another more reputable one this one obviously is crooked. Don't let them change any numbers on you and especially if you trade in a vehicle make sure you have two separate transactions otherwise they will play games with the numbers and steal your trade it with you not even knowing it. I recently bought out my lease on my 2018 Kia Forte. I have less then 17 thousand miles on my car. I brought it in to Kia in bohemia to have the oil changed and tires rotated. They advised I needed 2 filters and a wheel alignment... which I had no problem having those things done. Then they tried to tell me my rooters needed to be cut and wanted to charge me $800! I didn't allow them to do that, instead I got a second opinion from a local auto mechanic. He told me I did not need brakes , that my brakes were fine! In the (very) long run, this dealership came through and solved all of the problems that I had with the preowned car that I bought, and they actually went above and beyond in doing so. It was a 3 day headache with this place. It was a circus from the beginning. I was planning on buying 2 cars from them, only bought one since I really liked the car, the other we were told the car was loaded, brought it home for the day and found out it wasn't. They kept giving me monthly payments when I wanted to know what the price was for the car since I knew the interest rate I could get. For the second car we were suppose to purchase, we were told a price and towards the end, it ended not being what we agreed upon. Two weeks later and I am still waiting for my deposit I left down. I also traded in a car and still, 2 weeks later, they have not paid my loan and I still have to make payments on the car I NO LONGER OWN since they haven't completed their financial obligations. I have come to the realization that generation Kia in Bohemia does not care about the people that purchased vehicles from their establishment the only care about the money that they put in their pockets starting off with Joe the owner as well as Chuck Caputo which is supposedly the general show room manager of generation Kia I would like to say thank you to both of them for doing nothing for a customer that spent $25,000 on a vehicle that looks like crap I am losing money every day because of the job that I do I just want to thank Chuck Caputo as well as Joe the owner it's harder for me to feed my family and do my job because of the way that my vehicle looks due to the poor quality of paints that Kia uses so I hope that you too as well as the Kia family can't sleep good at night knowing that you screwed over a hard-working individual and I will keep on telling people never to go to generation Kia and believe me I know a lot of people I hope you have a great memorial day weekend and I hope your sales are down seeing that generation KIA is a company all about themselves...I will still keep the word going that that company is nothing but a big rip off please buy better GMC Chevy not a company that does not stand behind there product with it being over a month it just angers me so much how a company which is located on sunrise highway in a local neighborhood which relies on us the people of the community...to purchase vehicles from would FUC them over thank you KIA (karma) that's what I have to you no I have been dealing with this situation for over 4 months and I will keep spreading the word about generation KIA I want to thank Ryan who was looking to purchase a Kia but ended up buying a Mazda thank you Ryan I am going to keep this up because I'm losing money everyday....I never heard a company say they cant afford to paint a part of the truck....so I have been dealing with this situation for 4 months ..so I'm heading out yesterday and I have KIA call me and they ask for myself or my wife and the guy has the nerve to ask me if I like my vehicle ....I said are you fucking kidding me is this a joke ....obviously nobody at KIA are on the same page if the REP would look at his computer and see that I have been dealing with this since FEB he would of known the said part is I have a family member that owns a body shop that the owner used to work for and he said Joe was such a nice guy and he was a good body man ...I guess money is the root of all evil ...the address to generation Kia is 4825 a sunrise highway Bohemia read more

Generation KIA - Car Dealers Near Me - Bohemia, New York

wasted my time, I called to purchase a car last friday, spoke to Lou, then called back later that day to get pre approval for financing, I didnt get a answer Friday, so I proceed on monday to call, the attendant put me on hold with no answer, I hang up n call back and she put me on immediate hold as soon as she picked up. I called again still no answer, I call on tuesday again no answer 3 times, then on wednesday morning I have my wife call and these assholes tell us the car was sold on tuesday. Very shitty experience. would never tell anyone to go there. read more

This dealership is the perfect example of what you would expect to find when purchasing a New or Pre-owned vehicle. Their internet dept, sales staff and service dept. are very inviting and willing to answer all of your questions and concerns with no pressure or games and their inventory is the best! I bought my first Kia from them when they were in Medford, Wow! They have really changed my whole outlook of new car dealers. They really went all out with this place. It is so shinny, clean and complete. Everywhere you look there are big screen TV's, comfy seating area's and smiling happy employee's. They really do make you feel that they care. Well, after my 3rd Kia Optima from Generation Kia I have to say that this one was the best experience by far! Thank you once again to my salesman Les, his managers Rich and Scott and the whole staff for making this the best car buying experience ever! read more
