I purchased a 2010 Toyota Tacoma sight unseen from Rosenthal Enterprises LLC in November 2024. Prior to purchase, I spoke directly with Avi and specifically asked about the frame condition, as Tacomas from this era are well known for severe frame rust issues and were subject to a major Toyota recall. Although this truck did not have the recall work performed, I was assured that the frame was solid for its age and mileage. I was also provided multiple undercarriage photos and told the vehicle had been inspected by state facilities and a third-party mechanic.
Upon delivery, it quickly became apparent that the condition of the truck did not match those assurances. For example, the tires were advertised as "excellent," yet were completely worn and unsafe, with tread measuring around 1/32". I had to replace all four tires immediately just to safely operate the vehicle.
The most serious concern was the undercarriage. While photos were provided prior to purchase, they appeared selective and did not accurately represent the overall condition. After taking ownership and inspecting the truck more closely, I found extensive rust, including deterioration at structural areas and weld points.
After raising this issue, Avi offered a partial payment toward the cost of the new tires. While appreciated, this covered only a portion of the expense and did not address the broader concerns about the vehicle's condition. The communication surrounding this payment made it seem as though it was intended to resolve the matter entirely, despite additional discrepancies I had documented and raised in writing.
Throughout our email correspondence after delivery, I raised these concerns clearly and promptly. Rather than acknowledging the discrepancies between the representations made prior to sale and the actual condition of the vehicle, the issues were repeatedly minimized and attributed to the age of the truck.
Long story short, one year later, during my annual Pennsylvania state inspection at a reputable shop that regularly services my vehicles, the severity of the frame deterioration became undeniable. When the shop attempted to lift the truck, the frame began to crumble at the lift points. The vehicle was failed for inspection because the frame rust was deemed a safety hazard.
I have purchased many vehicles sight unseen over the years without issue. This experience was different. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend exercising extreme caution when purchasing from this dealership, particularly when relying on photos and verbal assurances regarding known problem areas such as frame condition. read more
