Bought a used 2008 VW Rabbit for my Daughter who was used to having old 1990 VW's. My Daughter took it for a test drive before we purchased it and felt a hard shift between 1st and 2nd and mentioned it to the salesperson. His reply was that it was normal so my Daughter did not think anything of it. I went in the next day to make a deal to purchase it. I was told the monthly payment on a 6900.00 purchase price would be about 125.00 a month. After sitting around for hours we finally sat with financing. The gentleman seemed very nice but did not explain anything or go over anything. He said your payment will be 189.00 a month! When I asked him why he said the salesman quoted through a different bank which we could not use for some reason and then said my interest rate was 6.9% not 1.9%! I did not argue because I figured I would pay off the vehicle before the interest added up. I signed the paperwork and off we went. When I finally looked over the contract carefully they had added motor vehicle charges, and a 3 year warranty for $3000.00 all financed! I was never offered the extended warranty or made aware that they were financing everything! We had the car for a week and the hard shift from 1st to 2nd was definitely a issue so took it back in early in the AM. Chris from service never called us. I had to call him to see what was going on. They changed a tranny pan seal and topped off the tranny fluid and told us to give the car 3 weeks and that the hard shift would go away! Really? Go away? We waited 2 weeks and brought it back. Now it has been in service for 5 days. Each day I have to call Chris to see what is going on and he always has a veg story. Also we were told at the purchase of this vehicle that anytime we bring the car to service we are guaranteed a liner car! Total Bull! Have asked for a loner at least 3 times and the answer is always the same. None available! I received a call from a warranty company based in Texas today asking me a few questions about our service issue. All they asked is how long I have had the car and when did I notice the issue with the hard shifting. I told him we noticed it on the test drive and I owned the car for a month but only drove it for a week or 2 and the car I'm paying for has been in service longer then I owned it! No call from Chris no news on what is being done no idea if and when I get my car back no Loner car. This dealer sucks in all departments and their main goal is to get your money and run. So my best advise is RUN far away from Generation Kia and do not believe one word out of anyone's mouth that works here! I am a single Mom working hard just to make ends meet, and take care of my kids. I am so sick and tired of being taken advantage off and ripped off! read more

It was a 3 day headache with this place. It was a circus from the beginning. I was planning on buying 2 cars from them, only bought one since I really liked the car, the other we were told the car was loaded, brought it home for the day and found out it wasn't. They kept giving me monthly payments when I wanted to know what the price was for the car since I knew the interest rate I could get. For the second car we were suppose to purchase, we were told a price and towards the end, it ended not being what we agreed upon. Two weeks later and I am still waiting for my deposit I left down. I also traded in a car and still, 2 weeks later, they have not paid my loan and I still have to make payments on the car I NO LONGER OWN since they haven't completed their financial obligations. Although I love the car i have, I will NEVER go back to this dump again. When I got there and I told them she told me that the guy chuckled and said they don't do that. No way they would make me an offer in pvt seller range. I purchased a Kia for the first time ever at Generation Kia in Bohemia. I was a little dissatisfied with the level of thoroughness by this dealership from the quick turn-around of preparing the recently traded vehicle which became my gently used pre-owned Kia. When I picked up the vehicle the next day, it did not start. The dealership gave it a jump and sent me on my way without hesitation. The dealership did not even detail the vehicle, instead, they only gave it a quick wash & vacuum which would have been a better job at an outside car wash. After leaving the dealership, I did not notice until the following day how the far back of the vehicle was not even vacuumed . Their internet dept, sales staff and service dept. are very inviting and willing to answer all of your questions and concerns with no pressure or games and their inventory is the best! I bought my first Kia from them when they were in Medford, Wow! They have really changed my whole outlook of new car dealers. They really went all out with this place. It is so shinny, clean and complete. Everywhere you look there are big screen TV's, comfy seating area's and smiling happy employee's. They really do make you feel that they care. Well, after my 3rd Kia Optima from Generation Kia I have to say that this one was the best experience by far! My review is for Generation KIA's service center and their servicing of my girlfriend's 2013 Kia Soul yesterday (October 22, 2015): ~ Oil change; ~ Engine filter check and, subsequent, replacement; ~ Replacement of front break pads (and, advised, resurfacing of rotors to extend the life of the brake pads); ~ Inspection; ~ and car wash (which I, personally, could care less about). ****Review**** Parking instructions for your vehicle to be serviced are pretty straightforward. Peter Venus, my service advisor, was prompt, as he had anticipated my scheduled arrival. (He literally opened my door and began performing his procedural check--noting the last oil change and, I believe, mileage--as soon as I put the vehicle in park.) So, there was no prior wait for servicing. Throughout the entire process, Peter was both open and honest with me regarding the performed maintenance (pricing) and the status of the engine filter (in need of replacement) and tires (will be in need of replacement shortly); he, also, did not appear to mind (1) my questions, as I was unfamiliar--prior to servicing--with the resurfacing of the rotors in conjugation with the break pad replacement. (I furthered explored the performed maintenance while seated, using good ol' Wikipedia!) I did not have to wait too long: two hours (as opposed to, say, 24-hrs with Chevy 112). There waiting area is comfortable and expansive, and they certainly make you feel comfortable with their insistence on using their two desktops, TV/lounge area, and Keurig (I think) or treating yourself to a drink (bottled water). While seated, I had the opportunity to examine their air of patience and politeness further. They cordially responded to two different individuals who felt the need to preface their counterparts' professions in a carping manner: "My husband is a teacher, and he works in the city, and...." They were both calmly attended to and various solutions were disclosed to each individual's trying circumstance: a courtesy car (a "KIA Forte" was proposed) and a re-examination of a warranty policy. I only heard maybe one indirect barb--with a service advisor's likening of an individual to McDonald's "Grimace." (If I was the subject of that barb, then, to whoever to said it, GTH.) So, in short, even if their patience, politeness, and compassion is feigned, they don't lead you to believe that in your immediate interactions with their personnel. ****Conclusion**** I would've never considered this KIA service center, given their current Yelp rating. However, thanks to my girlfriend's "research," her '13 KIA Soul's issues were addressed and I'm now aware of relatively painless automotive-servicing alternative to Chevy 112 for my wee '09 Aveo. read more

My brother and I started the day here to see what they had to offer. After going back and forth we were given a great price that seemed to good to be true...and that it was. I'm not going to explain all the problems we had with the salesman Matt and the lies he and his boss spit at us but I'll just say that if you want to find a dealership that's worth your time then it's not this circus. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! Classless.... I wish I had checked YELP before I went here. My mother in law purchased a Soul a few years ago from Generation Kia and loved the car so naturally when I purchased mine in July/2017 it was because she referred me to Generation Kia. I was told she was entitled to a $150 referral check which she would receive within 90 days. After 3 months, Generation Kia was contacted because a check was not received. To date, between my wife, myself and my mother in law, we have made close to 20 phone calls to G-Kia and Kia corporate offices and have on multiple occasions given information requested such as vin numbers and purchase dates. (shouldn't they already have that information?) On the rare occasions when we have gotten thru to G-Kia, we were told several times that "the check is in the mail". No check yet. We have been told numerous times from corporate office that we would be receiving phone calls from Mr. Catalonatto, manager Scott, Frank, Patty...etc. NOT ONE CALL BACK YET FROM GENERATION KIA! Not one in 6 weeks. Only call backs we receive are from Sasha in corporate office who has no idea what to tell us or what to do anymore....its comical. Why have an incentive program if your not going to honor it. In the real world, if you treat your customers like this, you would be out of business or out of a job. Still holding out hope someone this organization sees this and is sensible enough to understand damage control and cut my mother in law a $150 check. Would not send anyone to this dealership now. I am looking through my aunt's paperwork and you sold her a $16000 car nearly 4 years ago and she has been paying $550 a month with $4000 down and still owes over $15000 on the car. You price gouged her as well has charged the most interest I have ever seen on a vehicle. So far she has paid nearly $30,000 for a $16,000 car and still has 3 years of payments left. It is just disgraceful how you took advantage of her. Believe me everyone I know is going to hear about this so they can steer clear of Kia, especially your dealership. read more

Buckle up buttercup this is going to be a doozy! My fiancé and I walked into this dealership to add a second car to our household. Nothing crazy. We find a car and it fit our budget and the process seemed easy and straightforward. Dear god was I wrong!!!! I should have been suspicious when the salesman kept pushing this one car on us. We tried to look at other vehicles but the guy just kept telling us this is over your price range you can look but this is too much and that is too much. He basically walked us in a small circle and said the one we originally looked at was the way to go. Ok fine. So we sit and get ready to handle the paperwork. FOUR HOURS LATER they tell us the bank they want to use to get us a lower interest rate is closed and we need to come back tomorrow where they will continue the process. So by this time they've already charged us our downpayment as they wouldn't even let us look at a car without having a guarantee that we were going to purchase it. I'm pissed. I mean, I'm not just pissed but I was ready to throw a table. They assured me that my deposit was secure and if anything fell through it was refundable. NOT REASSURING. So I eventually leave the dealership, basically bc my fiancé the levelheaded one, got me out. Now, I return the next day around 3. They tell me everything is handled and we basically have to sign and walk out. DID NOT HAPPEN. They had the wrong address listed for the car, wrong owner AND they didn't even handle the minor detail like inspection and filling the damn gas tank. We sat here for another 3 1/2 hours for them to finish everything and the salesman JC had the nerve to cop an attitude with me when I told him he needed to hurry up. In addition to all that somehow instead of walking away paying the original $10,500 that was the AGREED UPON price the car somehow went up to over $12,000. At this point we were so exhausted so exhausted with the entire process we just signed and left. I would never EVER go back to this location. The process to buy my brand new Honda was easier than buying a pre owned from this dealership. They're slow, not courtesy of OUR time, and can't even do paperwork correctly. Good luck to anyone brave enough to go here. I also want to acknowledge the fact that while in the office for the "finalization" 3 other couple/customers were all there with complaints on the vehicles they were sold which makes me pray to god that nothing happens. I have to say the team at Gereration Kia was nothing short of AMAZING today. No one was over pushy, or made us feel pressured. Instead they treat you like you are a guest in their home! I get it at the end of the day they are in a business to make money (aren't we all?) But all during the transaction I never felt like a number. My husband and I bought a pre-owned car here. After we brought it home, a bunch of indicator lights came on on the dashboard. It turns out it was a faulty speed sensor that was recalled last year. So basically, they sold us a car with a recall on it that was never repaired. They admitted this to me after I read the service manager the riot act. Why did I read him the riot act? Because my husband made an appointment to have the recall issue and another sensor fixed and drove from Floral Park to Bohemia to be told that they didn't have a tool they needed to do the repairs. AND, they tried to tell us that our 90 day warranty was a 60 day warranty and they didn't think they'd be able to fix the o2 sensor that wasn't part of the recall issue. Not a good feeling, driving your baby around in a car and not knowing what else might be wrong with it. I really don't know how these people sleep at night. read more

They are the worst in every aspect. The sales team never honored their promises and the service team is the absolute worst. I've brought the car in 2x for maintenance a simple oil change and both times they "found" problems on a brand new vehicle with less than 12k miles. Our latest experience was after bringing in the vehicle for a recall they killed a 6 month old battery with less than 6k miles on it and then tried to extort me for $350 to replace it. They seemed nice at first but hid all financial information by saying "most people just want the monthly cost", which we later found out to be padding a couple to a few thousand dollars. We followed up via email to find out more details and were ignored. Customer service dept sent a standard follow up email seeing how our visit was, but ignored our reply. I had an excellent experience at the Kia dealership in Bohemia! I went in not really thinking I was going to turn in my lease early on my previous Kia but I did. I was extremely satisfied with my salesmans Christian's job performance especially since he just started college and started a few months ago ! He knew so much and what he was unsure of he made sure to double check. My Mom was with me and he was so kind and sweet to her. He was very respectful ,sincere and hardworking! I explained a situation I had the last time I leased a Kia there and he went to the manager and he got me a better deal ! Super job ! We then saw Addie who made us very comfortable and she helped out alot with the finances and paperwork and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. This is one of those typical experiences, where the 'buying' part was 'ok'. Only tried to 'switch/raise' the price on me once during negotiations etc. HOWEVER after the car was paid for and some of the items in the package weren't given, this is when the nightmare began. - after contacting them I was told it would be taken care of without issue - 5 follow up messages were left and never returned after being told they would follow up same/next day - 2 follow up visits (because they won't call you back) were met with blow offs and 'unavailable' managers to help resolve the situation - Finally spoke with who once again assured me it was going to be handled and all taken care of, the parts would be ordered etc. and to call back the next day for details - that person was off the next day and no one else could help - Call back the NEXT day to be passed around then given back to the first sales person that didn't return any of the message in the first place. - Told it would now cost $100 more to get the correct parts (floor mats) or they would switch out *1* floor mat (drivers side) so we wouldn't have a safety issue with the pedals (mind you they didn't even cover the whole floor, fit, or then...even match *on a new car*! - Called KIA's 800# and told the story, they called the dealership who apparently had the mats the whole time and 800KIA told me they spoke to parts/service manager and I could go pick them up - go down to pick them up, ask for the mats and was told the sales managers had called over and they were forbidden from giving me the mats until I paid for them - ask to speak to the #$%^ sales manager, where in they then lead me into a back office and this smug / pompous / jerk of a sales manager basically tells me he's not doing anything for me regardless of what KIA says unless I 'get nice' and start apologizing. Did I curse when I asked to speak to the sales manager? Yup. Was I refused a sales manager at 3 different points during this week and a half epic? Yes. Was I polite up until that point? Yes. Stay away from this dealer. Personally I am a fan of the cars (and KIA's in general) but this is one of those old school bait & switch places that once you sign the paperwork...they don't want anything to do with you. *Also note they were 4 days late on delivery of the car *My NEW car had 500 miles on it already *not disclosed* *They never sent the paperwork / sticker to my insurance company as promised read more

Had a phone conversation with this dealerships current service manager (Manny) last week. Let me first say, that I have had very few complaints in my lifetime concerning poor business practices and downright fraudulent dealings with those whom I have exchanged money for their products or services. Generation Kia located on Sunrise Highway in Bohemia NY stands out as the ONLY business that I can say without a doubt, has been the ONLY place of operation, I would warn every and each individual to never step into when thinking about purchasing a vehicle. Please visit their Facebook page and see for yourself the slew of unhappy customers that are infuriated with their dishonesty and fraudulent practices! Along with their current service manager( Manny) and their previous service manager, both are refusing to make right in any way their fraudulent practice of not repairing my brakes in which they sold me defective. The previous manager tried to have me put in a replacement transmission while still under warranty instead of taking care of the real issue MY BRAKES! He was going to stick me with a $750 bill for my brakes, while attempting to pad their companies pockets by honoring a warranty on a perfectly good transmission. I have had currently to date FIVE rear end brake jobs on my vehicle since the purchase in 2015!! My next visit will be Corporate, the better business bureau, The DMV and an attorney!! Please heed my warning and DO NOT step inside this dealership. Long story short, no one arranged to pick up my Buick trade-in as part of my new lease agreement made Generation Kia (Bohemia, Long Island NY) back in December 2017. The dealership did not pick the car up from the mechanic shop where it had broken down originally and which is what caused me to have lease the new one. I pleaded with Generation Kia for weeks to get the car or to pay the storage fees and I would have tried to get it out of there myself. The mechanic was kind enough to not charge storage fees on the Buick for the first 10 days, and on day 11 he starting accruing them. Well... I guess he tired of storing the car for free... read on... Since December 8th 2017 Generation Kia still has never picked up the car or paid the storage fees! It is now the middle of March 2018...! After several weeks, now months, of getting no phone call or any type of resolution, I received multiple tickets and a summons to appear in court (from Ordinance Enforcement of the Village of Lindenhurst) because the vehicle was found abandoned on the side of the road. If I don't appear in court on April 11th and respond to the tickets/summons, a warrant will be issued for my arrest. Even after reaching out to the dealership once again to relay this message to the Owner, Joe Catalanotto, I still have gotten no return phone call. Additionally, multiple hard inquiries were run against my credit report by this dealership. I leased one vehicle, NOT three! My many requests for letters that I can send to the major credit bureaus, to have the inquiries removed, have also gone completely ignored. The list goes on... Generation Kia did not pay the full balance on the Buick as agreed upon and as part of the trade-in. Again, no one from the dealership would return my calls or simply pay the final balance. So I was forced to pay Capital One the final, small amount so as to avoid further negative hits to my credit score. I guess the on-going complaint/investigation that I have filed with the Attorney General is just not enough for this dealership; it's come the point that I'm being forced to retain legal representation now. read more

The service was unacceptable, my car was towed to the shop on Sunday. I had to call all day Monday and Tuesday before I got an answer. I was told that my car wasn't priority because there were people who had appointments before me. I think that some considerations should have been taken since I had to have my car towed in. I was not offered a loaner and when I asked for one I was told that they didn't have any. When I called the second day to inquire I was told that my car would have to be checked and diagnosed first to see what the problem was before they would issue a loaner. REALLY!!!!!! Then to top it all off I had to pay for the repair a MAIN POWER FUSE,that went bad on my car. My car is just outside the 5 year warranty and apparently even though I did nothing that could have caused that to blow its still my problem and no one at the dealership thought that they should do anything to accommodate me or help in anyway. I can say that I will not be doing business with dealership anytime soon. I will definitely make it my business to never recommend anyone here since they are definitely not about helping their customers. read more

I Bought a used 2013 Nissan Altama from Generation Kia in Bohemia. The sales department were very nice and treated me with respect. After I had the vehicle for 2 1/2 months it starting stalling on me. I bought it to the service department and a gentleman named Anthony took care of me. Anthony gave me a loner car while they were trying to figure out what was wrong. It took a couple of days but they figured it. Before they release the car to me, Anthony himself doubled check and took my car out on a few road tests to make 100% sure the car was safe and the issue was resolved. 5 stars to Generation KIA in Bohemia N.Y and a special thanks to Anthony. read more
