Where do I start. We stopped in to just take a look and our salesman Raj almost sold a camper to us. We are still talking about it, but we are just not there yet. We have been looking for a while now and no other camper store listen to our wants like Raj did even the sales Manager Adam listen. They only showed us what we were looking for no other BS like another camper store I will not mention. I normally do not leave long reviews, but after everything my family and I experienced throughout this process, I feel obligated to share my honest experience regarding the purchase of my 2026 Forest River Wildwood Heritage Glen 261FKRB from General RV in Salisbury. Initially, the sales experience was excellent. The salesperson was personable, confident, and made us feel valued as customers. My friend and I both committed to purchasing RVs on April 25, 2026, believing we were dealing with a company that prioritized professionalism, preparation, and customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, once the sale was completed, the experience became increasingly frustrating and disappointing. Before my walkthrough appointment on May 1, I clearly communicated to multiple staff members that taking time away from work directly impacts my income. I explained that it was extremely important for the RV to be fully prepared and ready before my arrival because every hour missed from work costs me money. I drove nearly two hours to the dealership after being told I could arrive early to begin the process sooner. Upon arrival, I discovered the wrong RV had been prepared entirely. Staff had apparently been cleaning and setting up another customer's unit. I was then told my RV would be ready in "15 minutes," but I ended up waiting well over an hour before the walkthrough even began. Due to the delays and lack of preparation, I lost an entire day of income totaling approximately $800. Once the inspection finally started, I immediately identified several quality issues, including improperly mounted ceiling lights, cabinet defects, a twisted cabinet rail, and an improperly sealed electrical/power box in the bathroom. While I understand manufacturers can make mistakes, I questioned why these issues were not caught during General RV's own pre-delivery inspection process before presenting the RV to the customer. The dealership agreed to repair the issues, but during one repair attempt, additional cosmetic damage was caused to the trim area, making the repair look rushed and unprofessional. I was then assured everything would be corrected and the RV would be delivered on May 7. However, upon delivery, the camper had a significant interior water leak, forcing the delivery driver to immediately return it back to the dealership for repairs. After another delay, the RV was finally delivered again on May 11. Unfortunately, even then, the camper had not been properly cleaned from the debris and mess left behind from the repair process. After everything that had already happened, this lack of attention to detail was extremely disappointing. At this point, my frustration is no longer simply about defects. The larger issue has been the overall lack of communication, preparation, urgency, and proactive customer service throughout the process. Nearly every update required repeated follow-ups on my end just to receive basic information regarding repairs or delivery timelines. Spending nearly eight hours at the dealership for what should have been a straightforward walkthrough process was completely unreasonable and reflected poor coordination between departments. To be fair, there were employees who attempted to help throughout the process, and I appreciate those efforts. However, good intentions alone do not fix systemic communication breakdowns and poor quality control. Purchasing an RV is a major financial investment and should be an exciting experience for families. Customers deserve professionalism, transparency, preparation, accountability, and proactive communication throughout the process. I genuinely hope General RV leadership takes reviews like this seriously and uses customer experiences like mine as an opportunity to improve quality control, communication, and overall customer service moving forward. read more

General RV in Salisbury is the worse RV dealer I have ever dealt with (I have had 3 RVs) and I feel a responsibility to future buyers to make them aware. This is the first and only review I have ever left so I am not a constant complainer. I bought a very expensive diesel pusher last summer and every aspect of the transaction has been horrible. Sales, vehicle delivery, parts and service have been horrible. I ended up having to go to the factory in Indiana to get my rig serviced. Advisors don't return calls (repeatedly-not an isolated incident) and when you have an appointment to get your rig serviced-that's only an appointment with an advisor; it will likely be several weeks before your rig actually makes it inside a bay to begin the actual work. The process is fundamentally flawed. They will not connect you with the service manager either. They list various department heads on their website but no mention of the service manager. Why is that? When you have an appointment at the factory; you have an appointment in the shop that day. Buyers should only buy a brand from this dealer that offers factory service and you should be prepared to take your rig to the factory for service. In my case, the factory did a fantastic job. Full days drive to Indiana but it was well worth it. Buyers should know what they are getting into up front. read more

visited general rv after I received a recall on my rv. contacted them in Nov 2025 and went there for the inspection of the rv. I was told that a stabilizer jack needed to be replaced. in January 5th I was contacted by the service department to order the part. when I called about the part the service representative told that I still needed to pay for the part (whos running this place)? on the 10th of March I had an appointment fix the recall and installed the stablizer jack. the recall was fixed but the stabilizer jack was the WRONG PART! it's been almost 3 week, no follow up from General RV. my phone calls and emails go under answered. I have opened a dispute with my bank requested a refund for the part. really sad service! I will NEVER PATRONIZE ANOTHER GENERAL RV IN MY LIFE! read more

I brought my RV for repairs and an estimate for my insurance company back in January of 2026, it is now the middle of April and still waiting to take it in for repairs. Evetime, I call the service rep is "away from her desk" Never a call back! I even ask to speak with the service manager and leave my phone number never a return phone call!!!!! The only correspondence I get has been occasional text message. And on top of that they charged me $250 for the estimate. Run from this dealership. Purchased a 2025 RV from them ended up being wrecked before and they fixed it. Left the dealership and within 5 miles started loosing axle grease. They had towed it and took the rear axle out then slid it back in and hand tightened the bolts so they just backed back out. Had to get the axle took back out and put new gasket and reseal it. The next morning find a huge puddle of liquid under the rv. Still waiting to see what it is. Anthony the sales guy will lie right to you. read more

Worst communication & service experience for our first time RV purchase. Bought 12/24, a 2023 Coachman and they had it 7 months out of the 9! Just sitting, not ordering parts or fixing.... just sitting. Doing what, who knows- not being proactive and ordering parts!! This facility runs like complete organized chaos at best. If you have other options to purchase, we strongly suggest; GO THERE! For your own sanity. Not enough workers and lack of true care of evident. All while you are paying for your unit. Multiple occasions we were picking our unit up the day before our vacation- after they had it for WEEKS! Do better GRV! read more

Needed warranty work done. Took my travel trailer camper in early December 2024. Had a list of things needed to get done and were approved by Jayco to get done. Only one thing had actually been finished by the time I needed it in late January. Things that were on the list of repairs were checked off as "done," but were never touched or not fixed to the point it was actually functional. I took my camper back for work (travel full time), planning to return for the awning and sink repair because the replacements hadn't come in. I also asked my original service dpt case worker to have them actually fix what they didn't when I returned as well. I could not return until September. I kept calling throughout the year to make sure everything was set for my return. I talked to two new service case workers during that time, indicating a high turnover rate at the dealership. I made sure the sink and awning were delivered and waiting by the time I returned. I dropped my camper off for the final repairs in mid-September. My 4th case worker wasn't there to check me in. I asked about one of the repairs that wasn't fixed (my fridge door would not close properly and fell completely off when driving). Was told I could just fix it myself even though it was on the original list I needed repaired. I decided to just get the awning and sink done so I could be over with this whole experience. I was called a few days later to be told my awning "got legs and walked away" and unless I wanted to wait for a new one, I would have to settle for a black awning. I agreed to the black because I could not wait for a new awning due to needing the camper for work in a week. After the awning and sink were fixed (the other things that had been checked off but not fixed were never fully repaired) I inspected the repairs and they worked fine. I took the camper back to park it for 5 days before moving it 30 min to my next job. After about 2 weeks at work, I went to use my stove to cook. I found my burners disassembled and missing all their screws. The stovetop had been perfectly fine before I took it in for the repairs in September. I had not looked at the stove under the glass lid during the final inspection before signing the release forms because it never should have been touched. I did not touch it at all between the repair and going to cook. No one else has a key to my camper and it had no signs of being broken in to. The only explanation is someone at the dealership took apart the burners for some reason. The screws are no where to be found. In the 3 years I had the camper, the burners never came apart while driving. I explained to my case worker what happened but she and her manager decided not to take any responsibility for it. So I now have to repair the stovetop they took apart out of my own pocket. Given the poor customer service I had always received, I do not doubt a service technician either didn't know what they were doing, took the screws for another camper's repair, didn't finish putting the stovetop back together for some reason, or there was miscommunication about what needed to be repaired. I'm not sure the occurrence was even investigated like I requested them to do. So between the terrible communication between case workers, shady technicians using my original awning for another project and touching something that shouldn't have been touched, and the incomplete repairs I asked to be repaired again and again, I will never be returning to this dealership. I recommend nobody use them as well, especially for repairs. I have warned my RV working community as well. Save yourself the headache and frustration. read more

We purchased a 2022 Winnebago View. Haley Huston was our sales rep and she really did a great job explaining all the features and differences between the two RVs we were considering. The other consideration was a Tiffin Wayfarer. The Winnebago just seemed like a better fit for us. When we picked it up, Zach thoroughly went over all the components and how they worked. He allowed us to videotape him which is huge because there was no way we were going to remember it all! We just came back from our first trip in it and couldn't be more pleased with our purchase. read more

If I could give a 0 I would We stopped on our way to eat and shop. We wanted to look at a few floor plans and our time was limited but if the salesman played his cards right we would be back. We would be near the general rv center for 2 more weeks. Plenty of time for us to make a deal. The salesman seemed like he didn't care if we were on a time crunch. He didn't know where the campers were that we wanted to look at. After looking at one we went back inside and he said wait one minute and I will have the sales manager come over . The sales manager didn't care about our time. So I walked up front and told them my time is just as important as theirs and thank you but good by. The sales manager then said I just got here. So I shook his hand and said send me your price and we can talk. I had told the salesman if you get a good rate we will finance with you. I got a generic email that said good news we got you a great deal. No price no telling me what model Nothing. Don't waste your time with General. I WILL be buying a New 5th wheel BUT my time is worth just as much as yours.So General will NOT be getting my business. EVER read more

Ed is located in Michigan. We will say Ed was a 100% professional. He responded quickly to any request we made and resolved any concerns to make the purchase very easy.
