The driveshaft on my Dodge Charger needed a new universal joint, it was making a loud whining noise. Dodge makes it so your unable to service it. My only option was to get a new driveshaft so I decided to have one custom made for my car. These guys at General Driveshaft Service really know what they're doing. I placed my order and within a few days it was ready. They use quality parts and they make it so you can service it if you need too.I put it in my vehicle and now the sound is gone and my car drives much better. I was in the process of swapping an r154 transmission from an sc300 to an mk4 supra. The chassis of a supra is about 5 inches shorter, and I didn't want the 1 piece driveshaft go to waste. Rather than buying a brand new one, I called and asked if they can shorten the one I already had by 5inches. Not only did Duane & Austin get the job done, the turnaround around time was only 2 business days! Thanks again, I'll be back for more custom work! read more

I lifted my Chevrolet CUCV and ended up needing an extended driveshaft. These guys were patient and advised me on which style to go with. The shaft turned out great, solved my driveline vibrations, and even ended up costing less than their initial quote. I wouldn't hesitate to go back next time I need a driveshaft. read more

General Driveshaft Service - Custom driveshaft on a lifted CUCV - Machine Shops Near Me - Monrovia, California

Absolutey amazing experience. My 69 Roadrunner was having serious vibration issues, I gave Duane a call and he told me to bring the driveshaft by. Immediately upon arriving he pointed out issues with the brand new U-Joints I installed. It was awesome to hear him diagnose and explain just from looking at it. It's supposed to be a 24hr turnaround, but I came from 45 min away and he told me he'd get it done same day. I thought like by 5pm... he had the issue fixed and the driveshaft balanced within an hour and a half! Put it back in my car, and it runs like a dream. No more vibration at all. Great quality for a great price, if you ever need driveshaft work done, this is the place to go. Duane is straightforward, informative, and a man of his word. Duane, thank you so much! read more

Duane, the owner of this family owned business is a consummate professional and they do excellent work. I live in Hawaii where all driveshaft rebuilds for my car must be sent to the US mainland, they don't do those in Hawaii, and my mechanic's shop was not large enough to let my car sit in his shop until the rebuild was completed on the US mainland and returned. I had to purchase a driveshaft for my car on the US mainland and have it shipped, sight unseen to General Driveshaft. I thought I could get by with a simple rebalance since the driveshaft came off a low mileage vehicle, boy was I wrong! Duane sent me photos after the driveshaft arrived at his shop and it looked it had been sitting in mud and was rusty as well. I thought I had no options however, Duane informed me that with the core, he could rebuild it with removable ujoints in case there was an issue in the future. It took him a couple of days to complete the job including hi-speed balancing at a very reasonable cost and had it shipped to me FedExp 2 day. The driveshaft looks as new, and you can see the quality and pride he takes in his work. I would highly recommend General Driveshaft to anyone seeking a solution for their driveshaft issues. Great service, customer service, quality and the best thing is he is ethical and stands behind his work. I'm turning on all my friends to this guy, he is the real deal! read more

Just last week was the third time I've used General Driveshaft. They have done driveshafts twice for my Dodge 2500 4x4 and now for my Jeep Cherokee 4x4. What an amazing place. They are very knowledgeable with great customer service. Turn around is typically pretty quick too just depends on how busy they are at that time. The last guy I used to use was good but such a pain in the a** to deal with. It's so nice coming to General and getting greeted with a smiling face and a feeling that I'm not wasting their time. Work is on point too. It's nice knowing that people still take pride in work they do for others. Thanks General you have a customer for life. read more

I sent a email to GD about getting a custom driveshaft made. I got a response the next day from Duane. The response came off like I didn't know what I was talking about. Duane didn't look close enough at the images I sent him. So I provided more images, explained things further politely and asked him again if he would be able to take the job on. Wasted a lot of my time. He never responded back... A simple yes or no would have been fine. I even sent a follow up email. I end up getting three quotes from other driveshaft shops to do the work. read more

Needed replacement drive shafts for a lifted Jeep YJ. Duane knew exactly what was needed and he and Austin had them both built within a couple of days.
