Are you ready? I hope you're ready, because here it comes,…read moremy favourite single dish of the last year: *** Roti Paratha with Chilli Caramel Pork Belly & Kim Chi **** Combining Indian, Chinese and Korean aspects, this thing is so much greater than the sum of its parts I don't even know if I can get hyperbolic enough to tell you how world-shattering this was for me. My face almost melted off like at the end of Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark. I think I was yodelling with pleasure while eating it. Sweet, chewy, sour, spicy, it just had everything. We also ordered the goat curry (which comes with a toasted baguette) which is one of my favourite dishes in the world but even that took a second place to the pork belly. Special mention also to the Singapore Chilli Soft Shell Crab.

Yang & Co is the new restaurant from the people behind Yang's Food Truck (RIP)…read more It's a bit out of the way in Castlecrag but for food this good you gotta travel for it. The food is built to share with some classics from the food truck, and it's Asian fusion that's primarily Malaysian inspired. The food is pretty great, lots of stuff I haven't seen before and one thing I haven't seen yet in Australia since it's an American creation, General Tso's Chicken. Ordered the following: Duck & Cabbage Spring Rolls fried in Duck Fat: 4/5 General Tso's Popcorn Chicken: 3/5 Singapore Chilli Soft Shell Crab, Man Tao: 5/5 Roti Paratha Confit Chicken, Hainan Chilli: 4/5 Roti Paratha with Chilli Caramel Pork Belly & Kim Chi: 5/5 Stir Fried Pumpkin, Snow Peas, Tofu, Radish, Black Bean Sauce: 3/5 Tea Smoked Duck, Hoi Sin, Mustard Sauce, Cucumber, Shallots, Roti: 4/5 Yang's Fried Rice with House made Pastrami, Banana Prawns, Potato Chips: 4/5 The best dishes were the Singapore Chilli Soft Shell Crab with Man Tao and Roti Paratha with Chilli Caramel Pork Belly & Kim Chi...they are both soooooo good. I love the roti here, it's tasty and flaky and his a hint of sweetness. The Roti with confit chicken is basically like eating Hainan Chicken Rice but on roti, and the Tea Smoked Duck is like Peking Duck pancakes but with roti...both pretty delicious. General Tso's Chicken was pretty similar in taste but not quite there for me, but if you've never had it it's definitely worth checking out. Only gripe that knocks this place down is there was a bit of delay with some food coming out, the small plates came out quick but then a few other dishes had a long lull, but if you're not short on time it's no big deal. Will definitely come back.

I looked yo book online, several times were open so several of us walked about 2km, passed by 100s of great restaurants to find Chin Chins closed for a private function. Instead of having an amazing meal we had to find a pub that was still serving food and an ok dinner. I doubt I'll ever come back!!

But it definitely got a lot more crowded after 7pm and the music was pretty loud. The vibe overall was amazing though! The food was definitely the highlight of the visit! We ordered the pork belly drunken noodle and BBQ King Salmon wrapped in banana leaf. I love the mixture of flavors and how good it was! We also ordered the crispy salt and pepper bug tails from the large plate and it was really tasty! I love the balance of the flavors in all the food! I didn't order the drinks, but my friends did and they said it was really good too! It was more on the sweeter side, but overall, was still really good! This place is definitely worth the hype! Go and visit them while you're in Sydney!

I usually prefer my beef medium rare, but it got mixed with the pork, so everything got cooked well done. If my beef was cooked medium rare, this would probably be a 5 star review. Sirloin Beef $39 AUD - Beautifully marbled. Marinated Beef Ribs $36AUD - This was good and had generous meat. We ordered too much meat, but amazingly we finished it all, so it had to have been really good. Cheese Corn Side Dish - Okay, too cheesy for me. I bet very few people say that, lol. Tofu Side Dish - I am not a tofu or soup person, so I did not try. They have both Korean and Australian beers, thank you. I chose to drink the local beers, as the Korean brand beers were the same as the U.S. Support locals. Atmosphere - Small local restaurant. Indoor/outdoor seating were very limited. Semi-open kitchen, see picture. You will be crammed in to maximize space. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 10:30pm. Not sure if they have bathrooms; sorry I can not remember and I did not take a picture. Service - Full service. They actually cook the food for you at your table. Both the owner and waiter cooked for us. I really appreciated that. But I am also sure they do that to turn the tables faster, good business practice. Win/win. Price - See menu, Korean foods are always a little on the expensive side, but when you take into consideration the current US exchange rate, it was a sale for us. :) Owner Comment - Congrats on your success.
