Gene Phillips Plumbing - New water heater - Plumbing Near Me - Palm Desert, California

Prompt reasonably priced emergency service. Recommend highly. Will use him in the future

My family recently changed from a gas to an induction stove so we needed a gas line capped. We also had some aging faucets that came with the home replaced along with their valves. Gene took care of it. Communication was professional, and basically treated our projects as it were own. Everything was done to great detail and he was honest on what could be done. Prompt, courteous, and most importantly trustworthy; which made everything worth it. read more

I had another company come to do a standard service check on my hot water tank. Strangely, when this other company was done, the pilot light on my tank was no longer working and my tank, according to the 2 servicemen, 'needed to be replaced' and it was going to cost me over $3000. Something didn't feel right. I found Gene on Google and read his reviews and gave him a call for a second opinion. He arrived when he said he would (even gave me a 30 min heads up) and went to work. He told me he treats his customer's home like his own, and I really believe he did just that. In no time he had my hot water tank up and running, had corrected a few missed service items from the other company and my bill was $190 not $3000+. When this tank actually DOES need to be replaced, we will be calling Gene to do it. He was friendly, professional, trustworthy and very knowledgable. Would definitely recommend him. read more

Gene did some plumbing work for me in spring of 2020. Very friendly and an excellent plumber. We had some issues with some equipment I had supplied that became faulty a year later. Gene, being the stand up guy that he is, took care of the issue. Can't say enough about him. Old fashioned honest service. Thank you Gene! read more

Bought an older home recently in the area. Had a couple plumbing issues - a couple faucets outside that had nothing coming out and a running toilet. Called Gene to come out and take a look. He fixed everything up and I couldn't be happier! I'd definitely refer him to someone in need of a plumber. He'll be my "go to" guy for future plumbing needs. Thanks Gene read more

Sometimes it's just too good to be true: I needed a plumber bc the outside water regulator and pipe etc was leaking. I just n couldn't believe he was available on such short notice! He called when he was on his way, and came within the time frame he said. He ran into some problems that were unanticipated, but not.a problem for him! Work area was left clean,.auchnd he had to come back 3 hours later because of the unanticipated problem (glue had to dry on a pipe below the surface that a major company performed the same fix a few years back---but did a shoddy job). Again, Gene was on time! Really nice, integrity, meticulous, when I told him he didn't have to do something-- he said--" I'm doing this as the way I would want it done for myself" . THANK YOU, GENE! Hopefully the pictures show up: the 1st 2 are the before, the second two are his work. read more

We needed to replace our water heater which was a 15 year old Bradford White 75 gallon unit. We called several companies and the prices were all comparable. But when we called,we spoke directly with Gene who was by far he most knowledgeable and comprehensive in his information. All his questions were relevant and he gave us a competitive price in advance he showed up on time and the job was done quickly and professionally. It required more material to properly place the water heater and replace the circulating pump but he only charged us the price he quoted. He left our garage cleaner than he found it! There was an immediate significant improvement in our hot water system. Friendly, professional service from a Master certified plumber. I will never call anyone else. read more

Look no further for a plumber in the desert area. Gene is a great guy with integrity. He came over due to a water pressure problem and he checked everything out and said to call the water company to rule out the water meter being the problem. (BTW he was right). I have worked with a lot of plumbers in the valley for many years. I Have used several different plumbing companies, however after having Gene as my plumber, for my home and business I will never call any other again. Gene is always on time, does neat work, and offers different solutions in efforts to save me money. My home built in the late 70's needs a lot maintenance & repairs, I always feel confident Gene will provide a fair, honest, & professional service. It is always nice to see him arrive with his smile and caring assistance when I have plumbing problems! Gene has worked very hard and efficiently & gave me the best job in a bad situation that was beyond compare to the other plumbers (who were only interested in making money off of me). I guarantee there is no better plumbing company available. read more

Gene was amazing. I had a leak in my bathroom sink, which another plumber. not only did not repair properly, but caused a new problem. I thought I would have to replace the two faucets in the adjoining bathroom sinks. Gene came and immediately saw the much simpler solution to fixing the leak. It cost a lot less than replacing the faucets. Gene was knowledgeable, proactive in saving me money, personable, professional and very fair in his pricing. I also appreciated his communication skills. Gene called me back almost immediately after I initially called him. He called to confirm his appointment with me and called again 10 minutes before he arrived. He also assured me that if there was any further problem, that he would come back and take care of it. I feel I have found a valuable treasure in working with with Gene, and I recommend him highly to anyone who wants top quality plumbing service. read more

I called Gene Phillips Plumbing for the first time this morning a little after eight to look at a couple of our toilets. When I spoke to Gene he gave me a time window. I explained to him that it would take me some time to get home. He called me 30-40 minutes before he was going to arrive which gave me plenty time to get home. My toilet issues ended up being minor. He did some adjusting all three of our toilets. He did replace a seal on one. Gene was very prompt, respectful and honest. I appreciated how thorough he was and his professionalism. I thought his pricing was very fair. I will definitely call Gene again for any plumbing needs that come up in the future. Many Thanks! read more

Here is what you want in a plumber: he comes on time; he has the right tools; he has the right parts on his truck; he works carefully; he checks his repairs to make sure they are all correct; his bill is fair. All of those things and more are Gene Philips, master of pluming. Gene's father was a plumber. It is in his DNA. He has been coming to our home for 14 years. Every visit is perfect. He always has the parts with him. His bills are fair. And he is a very nice person too. Today he rebuilt two of our four Koehler toilets, replacing the 15 year old parts. He also fixed a leak under a bathroom sink (the trap, that goose neck part, had a small crack. Oh, by the way, he was supposed to come in the afternoon, but he called and said he was free at 10:30 and by noon he was done and my afternoon was freed up. What more could you want in a plumber? He works alone and does it all himself. He does not leave it to under-trained people. You get a master journeyman plumber. read more

Our water heater broke and home warranty was taking forever to take care of it. I decided to call Gene Phillips instead. He gave me a fair price, came out and did the work right away, even during this pandemic crisis. The installation looks great He also fixed a wet plywood underneath the water heater, it got all wet due to the leak. The water is nice and hot, and no leaks. I really liked how responsive he was. He obviously knows what he is doing and I also like the fact that he is local so I can call him in the future if there are any problems or new work to be done around the house. read more

After calling two well known plumbers that I've used before and explaining to them that I botched what I thought was a simple copper line repair and that my entire house was without water , the response I got from both was we're booked for two days! That's when I called Gene Phillips Plumbing, he too was booked! However he must have heard the desperation in my voice and told me he would somehow find a way to get to me that day! He showed up earlier than expected and fixed the problem and got my water back on. I definitely found myself a new plumber! He's the best! S.S. Rancho Mirage read more
