Dinner on Monday : variety of fish!…read more: you pay a high price per person for a step-by-step menu, so we were pretty quite demanding on the excellence of everything. Though they were very good, I do not consider this was excellent. Servicio: very good Deco: big, sushi place Tip: you can come and try it for yourself!

As mentioned in other reviews, the way this place works is you get 10 courses. But it's really an…read moreall-you-can-eat place as they allow you to repeat any previous courses you liked before they finally bring you dessert. You don't really order off a menu, they just start you off by asking about any dietary restrictions and then they just serve whatever they're serving. After that, the food comes out *quick*. Except for a couple of pauses in the action, the courses are brought out almost on top of each other. I wouldn't say that this place is a Japanese place. It's more Japanese fusion. They start you off with plates of sushi and sashimi, but it eventually started to include dishes like fried boar, a collection of ceviches, and (post-meal) they offer a Brazilian favorite - fried shrimp skewers. My personal favorites were the boar, smoked squid sashimi, the octopus ceviche, and the banana brulee desert; but all of the food they brought out was top notch. As of this writing, our meal came out to R$ 100/person, which is like $28. Hachiko is a tremendous bargain. It's located in downtown Rio and away from the tourist area, so I'd advise having someone there that is at least somewhat comfortable communicating in Portuguese. But other than that, I'd definitely advise having dinner here for anyone traveling to Rio.
