I took my Mom here to look for a charm for a bracelet that she received as a gift from her Mom when she graduated nursing school. Now her granddaughter graduated nursing school and she is passing it on to her. I want to say that Joseph is a Man of his word. He has integrity and he is a competent professional. Also Clara (a newer employee) was a pleasure to work with. My Mom wound up purchasing a beautiful charm as well as having the original charms on the bracelet soldered. The Jeweler did an impeccable job. Joseph and his staff went above and beyond to insure that my Mom was comfortable with entrusting such a sentimental family treasure with them. Gems by Joseph is an OUTSTANDING company. I highly recommend this business. Thank you, Jason Robins read more

I worked with Chris, and I could not have been more pleased with their craftsmanship and care throughout the whole process of finding wedding and engagement rings. Chris, along with the entire staff were incredibly nice (and "not just nice to give make the sale" kind of nice), but genuinely good people. I shopped around at many different places before I landed on their store. They genuinely have the best product for the best prices. Chris also helped me fix my watch that I didn't even buy from them. I am extremely grateful to them for making the most memorable moments of my life that much more special. Thank you to everyone involved in making these beautiful rings. read more

We had been to store after store in search of the perfect ring and were loosing hope. Each store gave us the same answer "we don't have anything like that" and often times wouldn't even take the time to explain to us what really went into picking the perfect ring and diamond. Luckily one day we were walking around the Ventura Mall when we saw a smiling face standing behind a very clean kiosk. We decided to take a moment to see if just maybe our perfect ring was there. Alex and Chris took the time to ensure we fully understood the answers to all of our questions. We found a band we loved but it had a gem we were not to thrilled about... it was WAYYYY out of our budget. Normally if you tell a vendor something is out of your budget they try to hard sell you or make you feel bad and guilt you into a purchase, but Chris did the exact opposite. He took the time to ask what our budget was and why. Then he took the gem out of the hand and showed us some other options that were more in our price range and looked stunning. He showed and explained the different ratings and really ensured we understood the process. read more

I'm a first time mom and my "new born" baby is just slightly over a year now. It's been hectic trying to schedule things between the sitter and my work schedule, let alone regular day to day stuff like grocery shopping and running errands. And now with all this COVID stuff it is just extra crazy trying to get anything done! I saw a post on Facebook from Gems by Joseph that they were reopening and I immediately called. I spoke with a delightful person named Chris and let him know what I needed and what my schedule availability was. He was super kind, super informative, 100% understanding willing and able to work with me. I had to use my lunch hour, I work about 20 -30 minutes away depending on traffic. When I arrived I only had a few minutes to take care of business but Chris was wonderful! He had everything set aside for me that we had discussed. Everything was high quality and absolutely beautiful! I was able to make my selections AND shop for one more additional piece. All in time for me to get back to work. Thank you so much for everything!!! I am so pleased with my experience, every day since then I've looked down at my hand and get good feelings all over again. I'm already planning what he can help me with next. I definitely recommend you guys reach out to Gems By Joseph for your jewelry needs. Be sure to ask for Chris! read more

This place is a pathetic excuse for a jewelry store. I went in tonight and was asking about a ring. Long story short one of the employees started loosing his mind he looked like he was high on drugs and I could smell alcohol on his breath. I'm never going back to this store again. If I could give this place negative stars then I would. You should spend your money at Nerces fine jewelry instead. read more

I honestly didn't think that we would buy any jewelry from a kiosk in the mall. I would always pass by this when I would be there. It just so happens that my husband and I wanted to sell our wedding jewelry in place of new ones for our vow renewal. We had no plans to buy. Just sell. We've went to 4 different jeweler a who bought gold and diamonds. We had no luck with all of them so we thought "why not, just one more" and it was on our way out. They appraised our rings and we were not thrilled with how much they wanted to offer us. Btw Shira and Alex helped us. My husband had a lot of questions and wanted to educated about diamonds and gold. They were really nice and informative. We learned so much and learned how ripped off we were with our rings before... It all made sense to us. They offered to trade my rings while my husband kept his, for a new ring. The trade in value was acceptable and fair. So I thought it wouldn't hurt to look. When I asked about a rose gold morganite ring, omggggg..... They showed me 2 and all I can say is that there was a 7 1/2 ct morganite ring I couldn't take my eyes off of. I tried it on and it even fit perfectly. I am not a jewelry person.. And I even have payments on a morganite ring elsewhere. Luckily the place I had placed payments on is refundable... I couldn't say no! My husband thought it was gorgeous on me. So, I decided to do a trade in and make payments! The other amazing thing was, shira offered to give my husband a rose gold tungsten ring! So we have a matching set. She felt bad that we were not educated by previous jewelers that sold us our previous wedding bands that we paid an arm and a leg for. Wished we knew about this place from the beginning of. But then again if we did we wouldn't have the beautiful rings they sold us! Such great customer service and over all just beautiful rings they have! Thank you! read more

This is a follow-up to my early-May review of Gems by Joseph and particularly Shira. It is often easy to give a 5-star rating for customer service right after the sale, which I did with Shira and Gems by Joseph only to see that enthusiasm fade when something comes up down the road. Since our purchase of a custom setting, the ring required some minor attention for adjustment and modification of the setting. This did not surprise us since this rebuild of my wife's ring was not an easy undertaking. No other jeweler wanted to take on the task; rather, they took the easier path and wanted us just to buy a new setting (and spend even more money). On each of those occasions when we took the setting back for adjustments, Shira couldn't have been more eager to satisfy us with her "yes we'll take care of that right away" attitude. Too often after a sale, a merchant shows a different attitude than when the sale was made, if there is something that needs attention. Not this jewelry store, their (and Shira's) commitment to making something just perfect continues after the sale. Shira even went out of her way on our last visit when she noticed my white gold wedding band (which we got at Ben Bridge years ago) looked dull - she cleaned it and dipped it in rhodium which brought it back to its new shine and brightness. That was a $100 charge a few years ago at Ben Bridge. At Gems by Joseph, Shira said it was "on her." No charge. This store demonstrates the best in customer service. read more

When my now husband and I were looking for rings he had his mind set on a certain kind of diamond at another store. I finally convinced him to go with me to Joseph's. I had bought jewelry from them before and knew how amazing they were. We talked to the manager Chris Dykes about diamonds. Chris took the time to explain the difference in diamonds to my husband. Chris worked so hard to get us exactly what we wanted at a great price. He is so knowledgeable and we ended up getting the most stunning ring for me and my husband. Chris you are amazing and thank you so much for all that you have done for my husband and myself! Highly recommended!! read more

I had been to several jewelers with a unusual request. Each jeweler telling me it couldn't be done. I was strolling by Gems by Joseph and stopped in. I was greeted by very friendly people that listened with great interest in what I was wanting. Chris went above and beyond helping me from start to finish. He put together a beautiful ring for my mother that she absolutely loves. Chris was so patient and caring. His main focus through this whole process was making mom happy. And he sure did. I cannot thank you enough Chris for all you have done. I definitely will be buying my jewelry at Gems by Joseph from now one. I have been referring everyone to you. read more

Stopped by to inquire about a broken chain that held special sentiment to me and I wanted to keep it, I was lucky to come across this little shop and Chris the manager helped me out. He took the time to fix the chain free of cost, although he suggested I buy a new chain as the one I have is delicate and could possibly break again, the fact that he took the time to mend it was awesome! If it breaks again I'll definitely look into replacing it with a sturdy one there! Quick stop and I was on my way in 5 minutes! read more

I love my new ring that I got from Gems by Josheps. 1) the sales rep that worked with me, Shira, was so sweet, friendly, and was able to help me find exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to upgrade my diamond to a new setting, and she is really knowledgeable about their ring selection. 2) The quality of care they took with taking out my diamond and setting it in the new setting was perfect as well as very timely! The jeweler added more under the diamond security so that the diamond would stay safe and secure. 3) the price was perfect. I was able to trade in my old setting to offset the cost of the new setting. They were so generous and easy to work with. Thank you so much!!! I am so in love with my new wedding ring read more

Our experience with Gems by Josephs was absolutely amazing. My fiance and I had heard wonderful things about this jewelry store and made the 3 hour trip to go engagement ring shopping here. Chris helped us and made the experience wonderful. He went above and beyond to ensure that we were educated before we chose an engagement ring, and it was obvious he had our best interests at heart. He spent hours with us and never made me feel rushed. He listened to and answered every one of my questions and concerns and gave me valuable feedback. In the end, he made sure I had the absolute perfect engagement ring that was customized exactly to my taste. I don't buy much Jewelry but I did buy some gold earrings for my girl they were good priced I think, but most of all they had what I was looking for which took me like 5 stores to find. I bought my husband's wedding ring here. I was concerned because it's a kiosk, versus a "real store". Don't know what I was thinking. Olivia helped me. My best friend was with me. She asked my price range and pulled out a lot of different choices in gold and tungsten. Even though we were in the middle of a very busy Saturday afternoon, in the middle of the mall, she made the experience very pleasant. Very customer service orientated. We set aside a few choices. Since I was leaning toward the tungsten rings for my husband he needed to try them on because they can't be sized. I came back the next day, Sunday (03/06/11) with my husband to be. He chose one of the tungsten rings I picked out. Olivia was very helpful. The price fair. I will be back. Thanks for giving us a nice experience. We got married 03/14/11. My husband thinks his ring is "cool". read more

This is the only place we go for jewelry. My husband bought me a beautiful ring here for Christmas and we have gone back for more gifts. Chris is extremely knowledgeable on gemstones. Thank you so much. We recommend Gems by Joseph to anyone looking any type of jewelry purchase for men or women. read more

I bought a new wedding band here and I would say that the owner Joseph will try to hard sell you with a few deals. You can find jewelry online for less than half the price but when it comes down to it, you can look and see the quality that you are buying and not go through all the rigmarole of finding something that doesn't fit or something that looked different in the pictures. He does have a good selection, but be prepared to haggle. read more

I had been to a few places getting an estimate on sizing an antique ring when I came to Gems by Joseph. For just being a kiosk in the mall, I was blown away by the service. I was helped by Michelle who gets the best sales person of the year award from me! Gems by Joseph in the Pacific View Mall is awesome. My husband had a ring designed for my 50th bday. Although the ring was beautiful, it didn't work well with my active lifestyle. I took the ring in and applied the cost toward another more sturdy ring. I also brought in a lot of gold and silver jewelry to apply to the cost of the new ring. Chris (the manager) was professional, patient, and very helpful in assisting me in finding my forever ring. I am now enjoying a extremely well made and high quality ring...with lots of bling. I love it and will definitely return for future purchases. Thanks Chris Dyke! read more

My now fiancee and I had been casually looking at engagement rings for months when we stopped in the mall at Ventura and came across this store. We had been to many jewelery stores all over the state looking at rings. Every store we had been to had the same song and dance, high pressure, high prices and salespeople that didn't seem that interested, but the manager Chris at Gems by Joseph was different. We were probably at the store for 2 hours looking. Chris must have showed us every ring, he was patient and very knowledgeable. My girlfriend found a ring she loved, it was one of a kind and gorgeous. The problem was we live almost 7 hours away. I called Chris after we got home and explained to him I wanted the ring we saw there and I wanted a couple changes to it. Also I told him I'd need a couple months to save up, he offered to put the ring on layaway. We also discussed the changes I wanted to the ring and he was able to get everything done on time all while I was 7 hours away. The ring is perfect!! My fiancee loves it. I would recommend this store to anyone who is looking for any type of jewelery. They are honest, fair priced and really care about the customer's happiness. Thank you Chris for making it happen and taking the time to help me and answer all of my questions! read more
