I don't remember the name of the guy who did my nails and toes, but the entire staff was friendly and welcoming. My biggest gripe with my old salon was that my nails were never shaped evenly, and the polish around my cuticles always looked like a mess. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the nail technician said she felt "uncomfortable" doing my mom's nails and claimed she didn't think my mom would like her work. Because of that, they refused to do both of our manicures and asked us to leave. I expressed that I was disappointed with the situation and mentioned that we would be leaving a review. As we were walking out, I overheard staff calling the police saying they were "scared" and "worried," despite the fact that we were calmly leaving the salon and had not caused any disturbance. What made the situation even worse was that the way we were treated felt discriminatory and honestly racist. We came in respectful, calm, and simply asked for a correction to a paid service, yet we were treated as if we were dangerous for speaking up. Customers should be able to voice concerns without being stereotyped, dismissed, or escalated to the point of police involvement. The entire experience was humiliating, unprofessional, and upsetting. We will not be returning.

The wax isn't too hot. Sometimes it's a little warm but I'm never worried I'll get burned like some of my friends have at other places. It's $10 (plus tip). I think they might charge you more if you pay with credit because of the vendor fee they get charged. But I think it only goes up two or three dollars. Would recommend! (Can't speak to their nail services- haven't tried it before). One down side: If you do a walk in there is often a wait. They'll say 10 minutes and it'll be more than 10 minutes. So schedule in advance if you can.

The employee checking me in told me I didn't have an appointment, and instead of calmly figuring it out, she and the other technicians proceeded to argue amongst themselves. Eventually, I was told to pick a color. I showed my technician a picture of the red/chrome nails I wanted. She insisted they were cat-eye. I explained, more than once, that I specifically did NOT want cat-eye because I did not want the glitter/sparkle effect. The picture clearly showed a chrome finish. Rather than listening to what I was asking for, she decided what I wanted for me. I eventually chose a red/black cat-eye from their display because the way it was done had a scattered, camouflage-like effect that I thought was pretty. Then came the part I will never forget. I asked if she could change my nail shape from round to almond. She looked at my hand and said, "Too fat." I asked what she meant, and she told me that my nails and fingers were too fat and almond would not look good. Then another technician came over while doing another customer's nails. My technician held MY finger up to her, and they both started giggling about how my finger was "too fat." Let me be very clear: I came in as a paying customer. I did not come in to have employees hold my body up for entertainment. When she started the polish, she asked to see the reference photo. I explained that I wanted the color placed in the same scattered, camouflage/dot-like pattern as the display. She said "no a line". After going back and forth AGAIN, she put one large dot in the middle of the nail and left it at that. Then she looked at the other technician and said I was "complicated." The other technician laughed and said, "She's very complicated." Apparently asking for the service I came in and am paying for makes me complicated. And then, because apparently the evening needed one final insult, I went to pay with my card. As I was filling out the tip, she asked, "What, no cash?" I explained that I had accidentally left my cash at home. She slammed the receipt down and coldly said, "Bye." I have absolutely no problem being told that a certain nail shape or design cannot be done. I have no problem with a technician having a professional opinion. What I do have a problem with is being insulted, mocked, laughed at, talked about directly in front of me, and made to feel uncomfortable for asking for what I wanted. There is a difference between being a professional and simply being good at doing nails. A professional knows how to treat people. I have never been treated this poorly in a salon. The nails could have been perfect and I still would not return after being treated this way. I have included pictures of my reference photo and what I actually got
