Braces aren't ever going to be sexy and fun, especially for grown-ups, but Dr. H and his staff did everything they could to minimize the pain and hassle of having them.

I was really disappointed with my experience at this office. My two stars is for the polite woman…read moreat the front desk, who was helpful with signing me in. I saw Dr. Dennise, and the whole visit felt rushed from start to finish. She told me I needed a root canal and had a cavity, which shocked me since I haven't had a cavity in many years. The cleaning itself didn't feel thorough at all -- definitely not like a proper cleaning I've had elsewhere. What concerned me most, however, was how quickly I was ushered into the financial office to discuss payments and scheduling. It seemed like the focus was more on locking me into costly treatments than on providing genuine care or taking the time to answer my questions. As a new patient, this left me feeling taken advantage of and honestly gave me the impression of a sales pitch rather than a medical visit. Because of this rushed and uncomfortable experience, I cannot recommend this dental office. Patients deserve thorough, honest, and patient-centered care, and unfortunately that was not what I experienced here.

The office environment is welcoming and well-managed, which made each visit smooth and stress-free. Before starting the process for braces, I researched and consulted with several well regarded orthodontists. I decided on Dr. Sokoloff because of his stellar reputation and his kind and positive manner. I appreciated the time he took to explain the entire process to myself and my children. They both felt much more comfortable knowing what to expect and having the opportunity to ask questions. Dr. Sokoloff was also very honest and upfront regarding costs, which we found reasonable compared to others we had looked into. The office staff made working with our insurance company and arranging a payment plan easy and stress free. Over the years we saw Dr. Sokoloff, he was professional, encouraging, and patient. When my daughter went through some unrelated health problems that affected her ability to stay on top of appointments, he was understanding, compassionate, and accommodating. He went out of his way to make the necessary changes needed to assure she stayed on track until completion, without any further burden to us. When my son was away and lost his retainers, the office found us a local orthodontist in another state that he could go to get scanned so he didn't have rush home or wait for replacements. I will always be grateful for the way Dr. Sokoloff, Dr. Campbell (a wonderful addition to the practice), Patricia (at the front desk), and the rest of the staff have gone above and beyond for my family. My daughter just got her braces off and her smile is stunning! It's hard to believe the difference. Dr. Sokoloff exceeded all our expectations. Orthodontics is a huge commitment, especially financially. You will not be disappointed with the treatment and care from this practice!

Dr. Vaysman pointed out from the get-go the reason for the spacing in my teeth, and it was something I never knew about myself. She clearly outlined my treatment plan and explained what my end results would be. Just a few weeks later my trays came in and I got started. I immediately started seeing changes, which was so encouraging, as I had been self conscious of my teeth for a while. I've had periodic check ups throughout the year with Dr. Vaysman, and she is always attentive and ready to answer any questions I have. She has a great office staff as well. From the beginning they have all been extremely friendly and accommodating. Overall my experience at Upper East Side Orthodontists has been wonderful. I came to this orthodontist after transferring from another provider who had already damaged my…read morebite. He came recommended & the receptionist was very sweet and attentive- so I had hoped for thoughtful, corrective treatment. From the beginning, though, I didn't feel truly heard. My concerns were dismissed during the initial consultation, and the treatment plan had to be redone after I pushed back. I also specifically told the doctor (with photos) that one of his technicians had previously damaged the finish on one of my veneers while placing attachments. Despite that, he still had another technician (unsupervised) remove and replace my attachments again -- even after I expressed how nervous I was about it. The technician was aggressive, rushed, and careless -- using excessive pressure in areas that didn't need treatment at all. I left that appointment with bleeding gums, new gaps between my teeth (particularly the lower front 8), visible enamel thinning, sensitivity and translucency that wasn't there before, and noticeable changes to the shape of my teeth (Which cannot grow back.)I was assured that no IPR would be done, yet the spacing now allows me to move floss side-to-side between teeth that used to be tight. My teeth lost most of their roundness and fullness- they are now flattened, smaller and boxier When confronting them, I was met with gaslighting and lack of accountability. What hurts most is knowing I voiced my concerns more than once -- and was still treated as if they didn't matter. No one should have to fight this hard just to receive careful, respectful treatment. So basically I went in to fix a problem and ended up with an even bigger one. If you're considering this office, I encourage you to advocate fiercely for yourself, ask direct questions, and listen to your gut. I regret not protecting myself more firmly after the first red flag. Patients deserve to be heard and to have their treatment performed with care, especially when they come in already vulnerable and trying to fix previous mistakes.
