The entire wait and bartender staff were absolutely fantastic and took care of everyone's needs with a smile. A special shout out to Joe and Claudia who were a delight. The servers were friendly, attentive, and helped make the experience easy and enjoyable. Food The food was solid across the board. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and flavorful. We ordered the calamari, vegetable pasta with added chicken, pork chop, steak, and spicy seafood. The standout dish was definitely the pork chop, but every dish was enjoyable. Overall This is a great spot for a special occasion or a family meal. Between the beautiful lake views, welcoming service, and good food, we had a very pleasant experience. It really is a wonderful museum. It tells that islands…read morehistory from beginning to present day. I'm gonna say that the employees here are pretty magnificent. I really was so warmly welcomed here and they were eager to help answer any questions and just engage with some of the key points. So many charming things used to learn today. From mastodons of which you can enjoy seeing a 10-foot-tall mastodon sculpture : a woolly mammoth-looking creature which once roamed the hills of Staten Island in prehistoric days. Learn about the industries that thrived in this area for example, their chewing gum factory, the terra-cotta factory & ceramic factory. Such wonderful things created for people to enjoy, however, the Freshkills area and then to see all the years and years worth of efforts made to clean up the area and make it safe and beautiful and a wonderful habitat once again. It was nice to see that it's treated as a beautiful treasure. Grateful to the women who lead the groups that were very persistent in this endeavor. I loved seeing the erasure poetry activity.. where are we made poetry by blocking out the letters that were the writings of the museum's kind founder William T. Davis. Reconstructing his writing.. it's a wonderful little game that takes you slowly into his thoughts and his love and reflections of his town. I'm happy to learn about the founder of this museum and how he took care of all the sailors by constructing these buildings and giving them a home after a lifetime of working hard on the ships Very thankful for all the hard-working people that keep this wonderful story alive and in the minds of everyone lucky enough to venture this way.

What a trek to Staten Island! On a day off, my friend and I decided to check out this botanical…read moregarden. Would I say it's comparable to the other botanical gardens in BK or BX? No but it is a free entrance. I came here on a Monday and it was pretty quiet with little crowds. They had a children's museum and several veterans buildings. Most of them were closed due to their hours being only on weekends. Our main goal was to visit the Chinese temple. There aren't visible signs so we got lost for almost 20 minutes, hiking through unnecessary dirt. Once found, it was unfortunately closed! It was such a bummer. There is one food place in the entire garden but I felt it was pricey and opted to eat in the city. Would I return? Probably not but i can see if someone wants to relax at a park to read a book and free of the NYC noise then this is your park! Best to wear sneakers here, you will WALK! They did have beautiful flowers that I spotted throughout.

I like the fact that it was very easy to get to and the large parking lot made it very easy. It is a beautiful entry as you come in and I would say that this is a perfect place for a wedding, I was here for a Kiwanis dinner. We had around 120 people in a large room with plenty of space for more had it been necessary. The room is big and bright with plenty of dance floor available. The team here is marvelous. They are just so cognizant of what is happening around them. After ordering a simple glass of club soda twice... they brought me a small pitcher. Dinner started off with salad and a vodka pasta dish, both were really good. The main meal was a choice of Salmon, Chicken Rollatini or Pork Chop. All fantastic. It's nice that the bulk of the food was all served at the same time. It was incredibly tasty and hot... perfect. I am definitely looking forward to my next trip back here. The trails at Greenbelt Conservancy are always good to visit, but one of the best times to come is…read morein the Winter; that's because you'll pretty much have them all to yourself, and you'll be able to snowshoe. Tip: Another good activity to indulge in when you're here is trail running.  There's not a lot of elevation change on the trails, but there's enough distance to get the job done ;-) Once you get a ways inside the Greenbelt you won't hear a lot of car noise, which is a good thing in my book.
