My nails after the 40 minute acetone soak & poor electric filing, and before the "technician" got ready to glue on fake nails
    Kaylee R.

I give them two stars because I came twice and the first time I came was a 5 star experience. But this time was a zero star experience because the staff was ridiculously rude to not just me but to many others. On top of that, the service was extremely careless and unprofessional. Besides waiting an hour before receiving any service (which was due to the fact that it's the holiday season so many customers were in line), when I finally sat down I told them what needed to be done; fill in and a few nail repairs (three nails were damaged). I proceeded to ask how they'd remove my nail, which I had to ask three times before the man even replied saying he would use a fake nail to dig under the acrylic and rip them off. FYI, a nail technician should NEVER remove your acrylic nails by ripping them off via fake nails or tweezers (or with anything actually). Acrylic nail removal should be painless and done by 20 minute (Max) intervals of acetone soaking and filing down by layer. There should also be some type of fan or filter to cleanse the air around you since acetone is a chemical (which shouldn't be inhaled too much). With these two things being said, my hands soaked for 40 minutes straight and midway I asked for a fan because the acetone was bothering my sinuses but they "didn't have one". During my wait/soaking, the man was working on someone else's nails, finished theirs, and never came back to check on mines (which I've had acetone removal before at another nail salon and they would usually pause and alternate between each customer at appropriate times) until 40 minutes passed and I asked for the melted acrylic to be removed asap. When he came over, instead of filing it off, he used a towel to peel it off, in which I asked for him to file it down. His attitude was extremely sour and he handled my nails aggressively and without care. After filing them down, I noticed A LOT of residue from the overly melted acrylic that inevitably spreaded all over my fingers and hardened on my skin. On top of that, he put the electric file away as if he was done filing my nails although a layer of acrylic and plastic nail was still on the top half of my nails. I asked him to take that off before continuing but he told me that it washes off, which was not true at all. We went back and forth about it for a few seconds before I went to wash my hands to show him 1. Melted acrylic should've never reached my skin in the first place, but it did because he let my hands soak too long, and 2. Soap and water doesn't wash hardened acrylic off. I came back, showed him my hands which looked the same as before, and asked for the price of that service alone. I paid my $5 and left immediately. Side story: a girl next to me requested a manicure and fresh gel set. I noticed they ripped her previous nails off, and failed to buffer/smooth her real nails out before attaching the fake nails on. She even pointed it out and the lady who was working on her nails snapped back "You want fake nails, right?" and the girl said yes. The lady replied "Ok then, there's no need for smoothing." The girl was clearly uncomfortable as she started applying acrylic to her nails. Before the man came to me after I asked for my dissolved acrylic to be removed, he practically tossed the UV machine at the girl next to me. While my nails were being "filed", I asked her if she was getting acrylic or gel and she said gel. I asked that because I knew something was off and told her they just put acrylic on her nails and she was stunned. The man doing my nails jumped in and said "it's both; gel on top of acrylic", although she never asked for both and asked for gel. Just food for thought. Long story short, don't come here. Prying off fake nails or acrylic can do permanent damage to your real nail bed, acetone soaking should never be too long because it'll mess with your skin, and you should never tolerate rudeness. If they're rude to you, can you really trust them with your $25 full set of nails? No.

    Gel nail polish.

Excellent service! They are very gentle and take their time. I usually get the gel polish on my nails. I'm a perfectionist and they do very well with not cutting my nails to short and a great job at filing them. I love this place! Best nail salon in BR!

    Perfect.

Best place to get your nails done in Baton Rouge. Such a breath of fresh air after the last place I ended up in. They're fast, do a great job and they're inexpensive!

Agree with another reviewer. This is a hit and miss, it depends on the technician that does your work. The pedi chair handrests were dirty and oily and pretty sure they don't sanitize their tools. Found all the tools in the sink cabinet where you go wash your hands during a manicure. In addition the tool caddy of my technician had nails on it, disgusting. See the pictures, zoom in to see nails on toolbox and rust on toe nail clipper. Will drive longer and get my mani ped elsewhere.

After a year of searching for a good nail salon, I've found it. The husband and wife team are professional, kind, and efficient.

So for starters, it is a black owned business which was a personal plus. But the ambience, decor and professionalism were all on point. The glass doors are tinted with the business logo so that there is privacy from the outside looking in. When you enter into the lobby, you are greeted with the cutest decor and low lighting that puts you in a relax mood. From there , you enter into the changing area that includes a setup with lotion , deodorant and body sprays to use at your discretion. This is something that I did not we done at other spas in the area. I also loved that the robes were not the typically white cotton robes.Typically the white robes never fits right on me-- it either fits my hips and is huge to the top or fits my top and i barely have enough material to close at the bottom. Naked's black robes hug all your curves and provides more than enough coverage. Now to the actually treatment. I had a 60 minute therapeutic massage with Keyara which was amazing. She made sure to focus on the areas that were most of a concern for me and adjusted the temp of the bed to ensure I was most comfortable. Then I had a wax with Mollie. It had been a while so I was anticipating this to be a painful experience but Mollie's methods ensured minimal to no pain which was a big relief to me lol. I finished my experience with my first vajacial that will definitely not be my last. Christy provided a very soothing service while also answering a lot of questions I had about skin and facials in general. I was also given a post wax goodie bag that included post op instructions and an exfoliation glove. Everyone's professionalism and personalities combined with soothing instruments made this a great experience. That i would recommend others to try. Now just a few notes because nothing is perfect. I did have a hard time getting to the entrance of the location. Your gpa will likely take you to the back of the building if you turn on bricksome . If you actually turn right by daiquiri cafe or something like that, you will get to the front of the building easier. Also I wish the bathrooms had a shelf for your items while you change, but it looks like they may have been in the process of installing shelves because they were in the rooms just not on the walls yet lol.

I was able to book an appointment through the online portal that day. Walking in, they had upbeat music and friendly employees. I witnessed a client come in who claimed her appointment had been moved, although they had no record of the rescheduled appointment. They were able to accommodate her with someone who had finished her appointment early, and the ladies maintained their professional manner even when the client was rude. My appointment started 10 minutes late, but my wax expert, Joslyn, did not cut my time short, and she spent my allotted time working to shape my brows. She also kept up a nice conversation during the wax which served as a distraction! She tweezed them and cut them as needed as well. My brows came out very nice, well shaped, just as I was hoping. I was given a little brow care package when I finished with some lotions and washes. My skin took a little longer to get rid of the red from the wax, but it was never irritated or broken. I also was pleasantly surprised to find out that my first brow wax was free! I had missed that on the website. The ladies did not push a subscription package on me, which I appreciated. All in all, a pretty good experience for me.
