But, looking for a new stylist I decided to try an Asian stylist. I liked the work that Jessica had up on Yelp, so I booked with her. I'm so glad I did! First, she is very personable; no attitude, just friendly and positive. Then she gave me a great cut. I'm so pleased with it...I took photos a couple of weeks after my cut so you can see it still looks great. I don't need to fuss or style it...I blow dry it and it just magically looks great!

The salon is tucked inside a larger apartment building at the base of the St. Johns Bridge, and has a warm, inviting atmosphere filled with plants and all the wonderful Aveda scents. I was lucky to have my hair cut by Maya today, a newer addition to the salon, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results. I came in wanting a shag cut and brought a few inspiration screenshots. Maya mentioned she specializes in razor shags, and she completely delivered--checking in throughout the process on bang length, layers, and overall shape to make sure it matched my vision. All of this for an amazing price; she's definitely found a new regular!

It's a small place but beautifully kept with warm wood and plants everywhere. Everyone treats each other like family and they all respect your space if you don't feel very talkative. I'm an introvert so getting a haircut is usually anxiety-inducing for me, but it's always made easier with Jules. She's just lovely - she has one of those lights inside her that glows and warms all around her. I have heard very good things about the other stylists there, too, but I mean.. I have to go with the lady who loves Halloween and Star Wars as much as I do. I always leave feeling like a hundred bucks - also about what I spend (every 3-6 months) - and totally worth it. She's the only stylist I've been to that can simply blow-dry my hair straight with a cute curl at the end instead of needing to also use a straightener, so the process takes half the time I was used to before. And my hair stays cute for days. I'm just really happy with her and if she ever moves I will probably have to follow. :)

This stylist used a toner that was way too dark for my hair, which stained my blonde hair and turned it DARK brown. As you can see from the photos, this wasn't even remotely close to what I asked for. She was unable to remove the dark pigment after using a remover twice, and promising that my hair would return to how it was before. Now I'm stuck with dark brown hair with a weird orange undertone that's turning more orange by the day. Extremely disappointed by this experience. I've never been this unhappy with my hair, and I can't even look at myself in the mirror. The stylist said she would reach out to me regarding scheduling another appointment for a correction, but she never did. Hopefully others don't have a similar experience.
