I generally hate Cox because they typically have horrible customer service, are plagued by issues…read morewith their equipment and calling them on the phone is almost always a waste of my life. I visited today with my husband to switch service into my name and we were assisted by a really helpful associate named Kelly (a male) with beautiful blue eyes. He really took his time with me and went through all the options since we had to completely shut down my husbands cable and put it in my name. We looked everything up and down and even pulled up YouTube tv to compare their bundles and prices Bc I was considering cutting the chord. It turned out their platinum bundle with gigablast Wi-Fi and cable was gonna be best for me. Kelly was helpful and friendly the whole time and answered all my questions and helped me decide what was going to work for me. He explained to my husband what he's going to have to do with our old equipment and said if he came back with a line just to leave it with him and he'd take care of it. I was pleasantly surprised by this experience and we brought it all home and swapped it ourselves. So far no issues. The inside of this spot is clean and well kept with numbers and couches to wait on and some equipment for purchase and viewing and demonstration. There was no line when we arrived but about 4-5 people waiting by the time we left. Waits can get long but they had 3 employees working so it seemed to go quickly.

However, they have really fallen to absolute trash levels. Firstly, I prioritized their higher end dedicated support, domestic dedicated support in the US. As a larger client their dedicated server support has been an excellent partner in my business, until 2023, when it really started to fall apart. Ever the optimist I decided to continue my patronage for an additional year. . . what a huge mistake. I should not have rewarded failing support with more business. In the last 180 days specifically it has been a dumpster fire. We are moving our sites and business elsewhere as soon as possible. Such a shame! Really wanted to support a US/VA business. Whatever went wrong, I can no longer recommend.

Horrible experience. My website just disappeared yesterday. After calling their tech support,…read morewaiting on hold for half an hour I found out that not only it is not working at the moment, it is actually gone, no content can be restored. The tech support was very matter of fact: sorry we can't do anything about it. Today I tried to call customer service. After waiting on hold for over an hour. I found out that they can offer me 5 months of free hosting at the time of renewal which is going to be April 2020. Yes, I paid until then. Now I don't have a website but they will not reimburse my money. Instead they were generous enough to offer me $50 credit which will cover $50 penalty for early cancellation! I DON'T have a website that they are currently hosting but since I paid until April 2020 they will penalize me for early cancellation! Can anybody understand that? When I asked if they could offer a free help with building a new website the customer service rep muted his mike and consulted his supervisor for a long time. When he came back he announced that they can not do it for me. When I asked to talk to his supervisor he sounded very surprised (I guess I should be happy) said that he will transfer me and transferred me to someone's voice mail! I really hope they will go out of business. Judging by the reviews it's gonna happen soon.

In any event, I saw they had a service guarantee. I followed the install instructions to the letter, but no matter where I moved the device I still only received a blinking blue light, never a single green light showing some connectivity. I concluded that my apartment was not able to receive the signal from the tower. I then proceeded to call to cancel the service (unable to cancel on the app directly it seems, hmm). The customer service person was rude, talking over me multiple times until I called out their behavior and began talking over them. They insisted that I allow them to centrally activate my device. I told them I had no confidence in the service since I was not able to get a single green bar showing any sign of connectivity potential, and the fact that they can temporarily boost power to activate my device was not reassuring. I wanted to avoid an activated device that nevertheless could not receive the internet signal under normal conditions. I then cancelled the service over the phone, even as the representative admonished me for not letting them activate the device, and warned me that the $85 is nonrefundable. I then had to (successfully) dispute the charge, and got all my money back as the credit card company agreed that Earthlink did not provide the service they promised, and tried to not honor their guarantee. So a fair bit of time wasted, and if you cannot get a single green bar yourself I recommend you dispute the service like I did. Or better, try all other options first--to save yourself time and frustration dealing with indignant and self-righteous customer service representatives. I hope this review saves you time and effort!

After set up with rep discovered device they sent for $19.95 was modem only. Not wireless. Now they want $79.95 for router. Plus $7.95 per month to talk to there reps re: calls about their modem. They do give full rebate for modem but you will pay much more with monthly charge. Purchased modem on my own instead it wouldn't work and internet was not working either that day. Returned modem and decided to cancel. Now they want $90.00 cancellation fee. Never got to speak to Supervisor but another gentleman offered to accept the modem back in exchange for removal of cancellation fee. More to follow...

I decided to give them a try and have been very happy with the service. We've had little trouble with our connections over the past couple of years. When our rental guests did have problems they were helped over the phone or a tech was sent out in a timely manner. Anytime I needed help or had questions about different services, it was easy to get Jennifer on the phone to answer my questions. What a breath of fresh air it is to have someone answer the phone right away without a long wait When I had a streaming issue with my old televisions not being smart tvs, they were able to find someone who went out and purchased the correct tvs and installed them as well.i wasn't able to get down to the obx to do it myself. What a relief to know that my rental property was going to be ready for my guests when they arrived! It's bittersweet that I just sold my rental property this month. I'm sure going to miss Renter's Net. Jennifer promised if they expand to Virginia Beach that she'd be sure to call me to let me know. I'll be their first customer.

I am an IT professional and when I am at my place here to do work on the house, I also need to be able to work remotely. They provide personal service, and are great at dealing with suppliers when the rare problem comes up. Jennifer has been great to work with. I have used this company for close to 15 years, and my only fear is that they will eventually sell the business to someone who will not care about their customers as much as they clearly do.
