my 9 yr MacBook Pro laptop stopped running. bestbuy recommended an Apple Store or Apple certified and mentioned Geekhamptons , Sag Harbor as it's a bit closer than Apple Store. Genuinely helpful, knowledgeable and I believe honest. I purchased a new MacBook Air at salespersons suggestion as I don't need MacBook Pro features costing more $$. They told me the transfer of my info etc might be done by late today . I would not get there in time to pick up b4 closing. an employee who lives in my area called and asked if I would like them to deliver so I didn't have to go back to Sag Harbor tomorrow. it was delivered and so far everything is great. This happened in early August, on vacation and suddenly my laptop would not charge. Brought it in and Kyle tried everything, very cheerfully, even offered to do a diagnostic and figure out what was wrong as it was and is something substantial. As we didn't have the time and had to leave the area, we couldn't do that but he couldn't have been more generous with his time and advice even though it would not result in any kind of sale. Had 2 iPads that would not charge. Brought them in bought a new charger and asked for them to look at/ clean charging ports. They said nothing wrong they are bad have to buy new ones. We're not open to trading in old ones. Pressured to buy new ones as only option. Went home contact Apple who suggest cleaning ports out. Worked great. read more

Could not live without Geekhampton right here in Sag Harbor. Professional, dedicated service, honest, fair prices, quick and thorough repairs. They have always gone above and beyond for us. People complaining about Apple prices should bear in mind that they're Apple's prices, and I can't believe that a 2-hour time slot for a "same day repair" is too slow (!!) for someone, unless that person thinks they're the only person in the world asking for help for something. I got a replacement phone through Apple care here. At first the battery was bad; it'd drain quick. iPhone XS is not supposed to do that. Besides needing to charge it 2-3 times/day, it would overheat whether I was reading the NY Post, which doesn't use a lot of battery, or sitting idly, or charging. I went to get it replaced as I had a warranty. After examining it for a couple minutes, Cheryl told me the battery is fine. I tried explaining the above, and she said to delete and redownload NYP, even though I used that as an example. When I tried to explain to her it was an example and give her other examples, she kept interrupting me and telling me to not raise my voice. She also seemed to ignore me telling her I have an open case with Apple. She finally brought it inside and said she'd contact Apple. Cheryl then told me to "go away" as it'll "probably" take Apple an hour to respond and that they'd call when they got an answer. She seemed to forget that she still had my phone and they wouldn't be able to call. I'm a professional. I need my phone for work, for when I travel, and especially when I mountain hike. Geek hampton gave me a faulty phone and all I wanted was a replacement. Instead I had their employees tell me there's nothing wrong with it and act unprofessional, disregarding literally everything I had to say. Go to the nearest Apple retailer in Huntington or Connecticut instead. Or have Apple directly send you a replacement instead of dealing with these people. read more

They don't seem to actually do service or repairs on older Macs. They declined to upgrade a 2017 iMac and a 2015 MacBook Pro last year. I brought in an old iMac 2012 recently for help installing A memory module because I couldn't get the screws on the memory door out. It seems to have died while they were doing so but it was old so it could have been natural causes. I guess they do service new Macs but new Macs are not upgradable. They appear to really just be a retailer. If you go there the woman and young guy are nice but avoid the old(er) guy. read more

My MacBook had water damage, so I brought it in to GeekHampton to see if it could be fixed. Logan checked it out, finding that it was basically irreparably damaged, in that repairing it, if even possible, might cost more than a new computer. I decided to buy a replacement MacBook, this time also purchasing the 3-year Apple Care insurance. Logan quickly retrieved my data from the cloud, and showed me how to do a few new things, for a small tech support fee. He was professional, respectful and friendly, and very efficient. My wife and I went to visit GeekHampton after her 10 year old MacBook suddenly stopped working. As a designer, this was her baby and we needed to determine the best means of either getting it fixed or replaced. We met with Julie who was absolutely fantastic. She understood the magnitude of the situation and was very helpful throughout the process. People all to often complain about the costs here and the rigid ness of the operation, and to a degree, a small degree it's true, but I just sat with a tech for 20 minutes who trouble shot an issue with my phone that occurred when I had it repaired at another local "tech" store replacing a screen. Not only did they figure out what the issue was, but they fixed it and didn't charge me anything. I say "Well Done"! GeekHampton may seemingly be a little expensive, but their work is quality, they stand behind products that they sell, and to spend 20 minutes looking at, dismantling and fixing a mistake another place did without charge is commendable. They have a customer for life with me. I just wish they'd been open Saturday so I could have gone their originally. read more

Took my phone to get screen repaired. After they cancelled my first appointment and I agreed to reschedule, I was told after the entire check in process that it would be 2 hours for my phone screen to be repaired. While their store associate did point out that the website says "same day repairs", nobody expects to wait 2 hours for a screen to be replaced. If you choose to go to this store, set a realistic expectation that your phone will be there for hours, even for a basic repair. Definitely worth driving to the nearest Apple for a repair instead. read more

If you're out in the Hamptons, Sag Harbor, Springs, Amagansett, etc this store is the place to go to purchase or to get it fixed. The screen on my new Apple MacBook Air crashed not allowing me to access my dock on my computer which I needed for work. I explained that I couldn't be without my laptop because of the work I do. Although the store was busy, the "genius" young woman took the time to temporarily fix the dock in several places and then agreed to diagnose the problem while I waited. I am so relieved to have this temporary fix. Everyone in the store was helpful and patient. It gets a five star rating from me ! read more

DO NOT use Geek Hampton. When I dropped off my lap top that stopped working they said they could not fix it, that my hard drive was ruined and it took the WEEKS to diagnose. Terrible customer service, bad attitude and on top of it they were WRONG. I had to pay $100 for a lie and they tried to keep my hard drive. Thank god I took it to apple where they completely fixed my computer free of charge. these guys are bad news. read more

GeekHampton has been a godsend! Twice since August they have resurrected my 6+ year old MacBook pro. Each time the diagnostic skills of their tech team ( the 2 Johns, Sam and several others) were extraordinary...better than most of apple's geniuses. John Theret's dedication and persistence got the job done both times, saved me money and delayed the need for me to replace my MacBook until Apple came out with a model I want. East End residents have long complained about the one hour drive to the nearest Apple store. They need complain no more. Always helpful and honest. Have checked out dead and dying Apple products and in some cases could fix them, in other cases said it wasn't worth it and didn't push for me to buy anything right away, and tweaked a slow old iPad and a dead iPhone without a fee. Best thing was their advising me to contact my credit card company when my mini iPad burned up for no reason, was out of the manufacturer's warranty but turns out was still covered by MasterCard under its automatic extended warranty plan that I didn't even know existed ... and they filled out the forms I needed, printed a copy of the original sales receipt from their store, and I got a full refund from the credit card company (minus sales tax)! They set up the new iPad for me and it was great! (The only problem is that people walking in the store can stand around and be ignored if it's crowded. They could use a sign in station, to be fair to customers.... first in, first served.) read more

They tried a few thing while I was there but I didn't expect it to just magically turn on, left it there over night and was able to come back to pick it up just as new with no charge since i had apple care. So I walk in and I am very impressed on the way they get through their waiting list. Shop is clean and well laid out. Barely waited 10 minutes to be helped which was great. Problem I had was that one of the representatives decided to use the S cuss while speaking to me. To me that is very unprofessional. Also the fact that they went on a rumor that another store in Hampton Bays (Sprint) was closed it was no longer there when actually to to my knowledge it moved. The employee sternly corrected me by asking how long ago were you there and it is no longer open as of two weeks ago. Which one phone call I found out that the story indeed is open in Hampton Bays. I went there to get help with an Apple product, but they turned me away without looking at the problem. I do not normally write reviews but it feels necessary to share my negative experience in order to save you the time, frustration and money. Please do not use this store. To make a long story short, I went it there with my broken macbook that was still under warranty. It had water damage so it was reasonable that they could not fix my keyboard (under the warranty). I asked if they would be able to fix the other problems that were not a result of the water damage and they said that they could take a look at it and call me. They charged me $55 just to look at it and called saying that it would be another $300 to repair the rest of the damages. I told them that I didn't want the repairs done and brought my computer to a "REAL" apple store in the Smith Haven Mall. They actually want to help you over there and are not in it to suck every penny out of you (like Geek Hampton tries to do). I had my computer looked at for free and every single repair was free as well. I am so happy that I didn't spend $300 on something that could be so easily fixed by a real apple store. Please take the drive out to the mall or any other apple store and do not let this business cheat you out of hundreds of dollars. -Just because we live in the Hamptons doesn't mean that we should overpay for EVERYTHING...Thanks for reading read more
