This stand-alone BC Liquor on Robson was nicely nestled within the local Safeway. When Gayle and I entered, it was us, the cashier, and a security guard. Gayle was impressed with the wine selection and picked 2 bottles she liked. I looked for beer and found some nice BC craft beer. My overall selection was a little light, but I was happy with my purchase. Prices were decent and our cashier was very friendly and helpful. More sturdy bags are available for purchase, of which I would recommend.

Most impressive, though, was the selection of wines here. As you might have noticed at your local liquor store, there's been a marked problem with supply, and so so many shelves are empty in so many wine stores. This is prevalent across the province, and is due to many factors. At the BC Liquor store nearest me, in Yaletown (on Pacific), it's shocking how many shelves are empty. I keep getting told that they'll be restocking soon, as the wines become more available, but it's been pretty sad there for over a month now. But here at this particular BC Liquor Store, they have SO many wines that aren't available at other BCLS locations, and I didn't see any empty shelves at all. So if you're looking for your favorite wine and it's not available at you BCLS near you, call up this store. They probably have it!

It felt like a tourist trap, and the recommendations did not reflect the quality I expected.

The isles are rather cramped, it's hard to navigate your way around if there are more then a few people inside. Staff are hit and miss. Besides the older guy who is normally always there ( owner perhaps ??) they aren't overly friendly or helpful. The older guy is a bit more personable, but I still don't ever see him crack a smile, I don't drink beer, so I cannot comment about that. However, for the size of the store, they do have a fair amount of wine to chose from. Other then that, Not the best selection of cider or coolers. Just a few in the refrigerators.
