At 57 years old, I feel that having a wisdom tooth removed as an adult is a very different experience than it may be for a teenager, and I expected more individualized guidance about what to expect during recovery. The written aftercare instructions were insufficient and did not adequately prepare me for the recovery process. After the procedure, there was no discussion about how the procedure went, what to expect over the next several days, how long pain and discomfort might reasonably last, or what symptoms would be considered normal versus concerning. I also was not offered an off-work note or given any guidance about whether I should plan to take time away from work. My biggest concern was not necessarily the procedure itself, but the lack of communication afterward. Patients should leave an oral surgery appointment feeling informed and prepared for their recovery, especially when they are older adults who may have different recovery needs than younger patients. I hope the office will consider improving its post-procedure communication and providing more detailed, age-appropriate expectations and guidance for future patients.

They are expanding…read moreto open new departments, such as a dental academy and a children's branch, so they are always way behind schedule and much more unorganized than they used to be. I have been a patient for twenty years, and in the last month, I have had to reschedule two appointments due to long wait times (30 then 40 mins). Their most qualified and efficient hygienists have retired or moved on. The kiosk check-in system is also faulty and does not always go through to the front desk, so they think you're late or a no-show unless you speak to the receptionist. There is also now a host standing by the kiosks... why? I am disappointed because I pay for PPO just to continue going to CD. I vote for them for Bakersfield's Best every year. And I have referred all of my friends and family to them throughout these years. But I won't be doing that anymore. Will report back if things improve.
